  • Afternoon everyone, just popped on to say startedy h&e last night and plan to get the littlest imp in to bed at 6 and climb into my bed and get a good start on it. Also saw an advert from a lady who said she was selling some cross stitch stuff in her word aida, mags and stuff for £10. So my brother said he would get it for me, when I picked it up there was loads 3 large pieces of white 16 ct aida, a bag with 15 pieces of different coloured aida, some sparkley all a little bit bigger than a4 size, 17 magazines, a hoop and 1 cover kit, well worth £10! But now I have a load of new pieces added to ly must do pile !

Postingalwaysposting - I am working on the fizzy moon kit too! Lovely to see your finished one. I must admit I was a bit dissappointed with the kit as when I opened it the needle inside was broken in to two pieces, doesn't really fill you with confidence in the quality does it? lol

I am working my way merrily through the flowers today and aim to finish it soon.

Sorry for no pics of Percy the tank engine, but hubby has lost the uploader thingy to get the pics on to the computer, so once he finds it I will share them :).

Louise - wow just wow! You have inspired me to crack on with my UFO's seeing all your finished items!

I have 2 ready for frames (although one I stitched about 6 years ago when pregnant with DD - and framed it but she smashed the frame about a year ago and I haven't had chance to sort it). The other is a Shaun the sheep birth sampler I stitched for DS a year ago but have yet to find the perfect frame.

So my UFO's to work on this month are the ducks and the backstitch for On the beach!

    Hope everyone one is well?

  • Flowerofscotland, bless you thanks for the offer. I haven't worked on anything but Aida so I think it will be different. The rose is 10.5cm * 6cm 14HPI whatever that means :o If you have some I could paypal you the cost :D

Wel done ocemeer, cute isn't he. Yours looks much better though. Mine doesn't seem to fit into the appature :(

Flat Eric, I jsut used the needle that was in the kit, although it was a real struggle to do teh backstitch. I couldn't be bothered to go upstairs to change my needle though :rotfl:

augustsmummy, what a shame about your kit. Glad you are getting on with him now though. I think this one will be given to Mum and a 'All my yesterdays' cover kit I will give to my elderly friend. Love to see your progress :)

I am back to London today, will prob post an update tomorrow sometime.

Love your knitted squares kezbabybabe, it's going to be wonderfully warm when you have put them all together.

Louise - ahem...not done anything on the Astronomer for months...oops! :o

Hope to get some X-stitching done later in the week...promise!

Hi PaP I have just had a look through my stash of offcuts and found a small piece of antique white 28 count evenweave 24 x 16 cm which should do the job. Stitching over 2 threads (holes) on 28 count evenweave means that the design will turn out the same size as using 14 count aida. PM your address and I'll pop it in the post and I don't want anything for it. Just happy that someone else is trying evenweave though I won't be upset if you decide it's not for you :)

Well today hasn't quite been the relaxing day I was hoping it would be.

OH decided it was spring clean day so although everything now looks tidy, I have no idea where anything is! I have not managed any cross stitch :( although I have got things a little bit more organised so at least I can see what I have ! I have yet to pick my next (meaty) project. I just can't make up my mind!

Thanks for the tips re fizzy moon. What is it with the threads etc being such poor quality ?? :(:(:(

PAP - love the teddy, you've done really well and very advanced for mothers day.

Sweetcarer- thanks for saying about the Emily Peacock alphabet. I'd forgotten about these but will see if I can download them now.

Flat Eric - your list is growing fast. I never seem to find much in the magazines to stitch. I thought I had one left of a sebscription and would get this copy but it hasn't arrived so I don't think I will be getting it.

b_e_g - so sorry to hear the sad news about your BIL.

FlowersofScotland - lovely to seeing your completed designs. I love to see completed projects it reallt spurs me on to keep going.
