    Hi ladies.

    Everyone's progress pics are great!

    Here's mine,

  • Wow Shelly that tiger is looking amazing :D
St. Francis said: “A man who uses his hands is a laborer. One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman. He who uses his hands, and his mind, and his heart is an artist.”
  • Heres a progress report on mine.

I'm on the home stretch now, just have to do the skirt (just!). I must admit I'm getting a big bogged down with it now, and can't wait to finish it so I can start something else :D

I've still got all the gold stitches to put in and loads of beads - panicking about the beads because I've never done them before, so any advice gratefully received!

  • Thyank you. I've got the winter angel to start next, but I think I'll do a few smaller ones first. I can't wait to finish it now.

I love doing cross stitch with beads - it makes the finished piece look great!
Are all the beads the same colour or do you have a mixture? If you've got different colours sort them out before you begin.
It's easier to pick the beads up if you put them in little trays or pots or ramekins or similar, it gets very fiddly if you leave them in plastic bags.
This is probably obvious, but if you want all the beads to lie in a uniform way, you need sew them on in the same way eg all //// or all \\\\ .
If you want them vertically or horizontally, then sew them on with individual cross stitches - if you do a row of //// then go back to do \\\\ I find they all go wonky, sewing them one at a time with cross stitches works better.
Hope this is of some use!

This is exactly how I would have put it as well! I tend to use crosses only for the really tiny seed beads.

//// or \\\\ is enough to make the larger ones all sit the same way, the tiny ones need a bit more guidance!

Here is where I am with Dear Santa, about to sit down and do a bit more though! :)

Shelly - I love your tiger and the progress is really good.

Lancs-Lady - You're doing really well with this angel. I like stitching with beads and agree with Humphrey10 and Sk00bie as to how to attach them.

Sk00bie - Santa's List is coming along really quickly. The writing should be just as quick if not quicker.

It's called Dear Santa from a book of cross stitch designs. Here's a (slightly rubbish) pic of the completed design :)
