Cross Stitch Cafe 2012

Many moons ago my husband bought me a Jane Greenoff's cross Stitch Designer program. It was very basis and I have to say I think I only sent it to the charity shop back end of last year. I did manage to design a Tank Regiment bage on a background with their motto on for my dads birthday.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Thank you all for your replies to my question about my broken tooth. I saw the dentist today and
I need a crown. so flat eric will soon be poor
The tooth in question is a large tooth and had a big filling in the middle but one side has broken off. Although the dentist said I could have a filling put on the side, this wouldn't really solve the problem and would probably fall off so the crown is the best option. So all my many younger years of eating lots of sweets and poor dental hygiene are coming back to bite me on the b*m! The expense is not ideal but I think its best to get it sorted and apparently the tooth in question is one of those teeth that is a busy and important little tooth so well, guess I don't really have much choice and I'm signed up for it now. Here's hoping camelot is kind to me tonight
as I shall be sad to pay over money that I could otherwise spend on cross stitch stash and I fear my planned visit to the opticians now will have to wait.
In cross stitch news, I am still being very indecisive and can't seem to stick to any one project but need to work out whether I can fit in two mother's day cards, one father's day card before the respective dates and also what to stitch! If anyone has any ideas then please would you share :T0 -
Evening all, ordered the thread for my hae on Friday was really hoping they would come today so I could start tonight, but they haven't
so I think I will spend the evening sorting out fabric and stuff so when they do arrive i can start straight away and get everything together for another dictionary of.... as I'm going to do them both at the same time, the hae will be my biggest and most complicated project so far, so I think I will need something for when the kids are around or when I need something less challenging.
Eric glad you went to the dentist, sorry about the expense
ailsb my mum has that disc, I've used it a few times and never really got the hang of it!

So glad I found this thread. I used to be so into Cross Stich and many of my family have my litlle projects. I went into the shop the other day that I used to work in as a saturday girl and brought some cross stitch material as thought I would like to get back into it, as my mum said that she found my bag of threads etc.
I have my first newphew coming in a couple of months and would like to make him a cross stitch to frame and ideally a C for his initial. Can anyone recommend a nice pattern for a C on its own.APR NSD - 0/10

Benny - love your 'Share a Little Happiness' and look forward to seeing your rose pic. :T
How about doing a little easter card or something like that mags_cat. I loved your Tenby and look forward to seeing it again soon please (considered yourself vitually kicked up the wotzits now)
Woo Hoo - shelly's stitched in green :j
Glad to hear you're getting your tooth sorted Flat Eric - the paying the bill bit is usually worse than the treatment (ouch)
Oh maria - Thomas brings back memories of when my DS was little (now 25). He had a video of Thomas and it seemed as though it was on 24/7 - his dad said he would be tootling along the road in the car going to work humming the theme tune to himself. I'm told the new version isn't as good as the old one - sounds like most things nowadays.
Welcome to the cafe Sazdaz and good luck with your new project. Hope you find something suitable soon. Don't forget to update us with your progress.

Blue, I'm afraid to say that you are right the original Thomas is much better than the new, I also put on a Thomas film today on netflix for the littlest imp and the voices were all done by an American. I found it most unsettling! And turned it off lol
Just about to cut the aida for the hae and the dictionary of is all ready to go, dictionary of boots, this time13 in 2013 challenge 9/130 -
Soulie your version looks fine, the left foot looks better in your version than in the photo!
Someone asked a few pages back about how I found stitching on the patterned aida - it was OK actually, I thought it would be a lot slower due to the pattern making the holes and the stitches harder to see but I didn't have any problems.
I've got 'blanket stitch' and 'satin stitch' to do on the sampler next, it looks very fiddly. I'm still not sure how to copy the design onto the fabric with carbon paper - I'm worried about not being able to remove the marks afterwards. I'm considering marking the back of the linen, I think the colour will show through the holes a little bit, hopefully enough to show me where to stitch but hopefully not enough for the colour to show through the stitching...0 -
Just popping in to say I've finally started Santa's List, woo hoo!
Will update when I've done a bit more though lol
Thanks Ailsb for the offer of a, I might just take you up on that!
Welcome to the cafe Sazdaz! Hope you get your mojo back soon Mags and love the Thomas Maria.
