  • Thanks all for your answers, I think I will get a box or something to put them in so they arn't damaged by my magazines etc. Back to stitching now but first need to pay for my new kit :j
  • willow I sure that you will get it back soon xx

Soulie Thats a great Eagle. I wouldnt change anything. Are you using a free program off the internet, or have you purchased one? I would love to do a Man U. I have had a quick look on ebay and I am unsure of some of the charts that are on their. So I was wondering if someone could recommend a good "chart making program." So I could make one up myself.

Thank you, I think I will keep it as it is actually. Seems silly to mess with it when it looks okay as it is lol.

I used 'Jane Greenoff's Cross Stitch Designer', (under £8 from Amazon - but only 2 left in stock!), that I got for Christmas. It was the first time I used it, but I must say I am impressed with it and would recommend it!
And I just did a tester, as you can import your own photo's and I have to say the 'tester' I did of my cat looked AWESOME!

    The original photo
In cross stitch form - zoomed out
And zoomed in a little of her nose

Like I said, it was just a tester, so it ended up being huge as I didn't resize the original photo from 5000x4000 lol so I will know for the future when I do a proper conversion, to make sure that the original photo is at a smaller size lol

I've just gridded up some blue aida for the eagle, so that's what I will be stitching tonight!

Okay guys, a bit of advice please. :D

But aside from that do you guys think it is okay??
Maybe I should change some of the backstitch so it isn't so blocky, like on the original? Or do you think it is okay as it is??

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Soulie

I think this looks very similar to the original.

Yayeee got flicker to work - I am amazingly technophoblic for being in my early 30's. Not a computer person so I am very proud of myself - ha ha

Well this is my almost completed Share A Little Happiness from Cross Stitcher magazine (Thanks flower of scotland!!). It's almost done as when I was ordering threads I didn't read the pattern properly and didn't buy the threads for the backstitch - whoops so I will wait until I have planned my next project and order a batch of 50 (maybe 100 - why do I wany all the anchor threads in my pretty boxes?)

I have done this for my oldest friends wedding later on the year, her Granny taught us to XS so I know she will appreciate it, but like me would not want a traditional wedding sampler. I am planning to put the date on it - perhaps under the lovebirds at the bottom. I was thinking about their names as well but I think now it could be too fussy. What do you all think?

I am currently working on a vintage rose design from Cross Stitcher issue 248

This is how I have got on so far...

You have all been getting on so well and are an inspiration to me to continue with this hobby which I have neglected for so long, but I seem to have my stitchy mojo at the minute! Thank you!!!!

Somebody give me a kick up the wotsit?

I've done page 3 of Tenby Harbour and have just started the backstitching for that section but I've lost my oomph. I think it might be behind the sofa, with the giant dustballs and gawd knows what else. I daren't look

(Might be cause I've got a cold coming, feeling carp...but that's peanuts compared to what some of you are going through so I cannot, and will not complain!)

Great work from everyone else, though...:T

Damn Amazon and their 'one click' ordering....:o

I just got free delivery though (not in a rush for it) so £4.99 for it.

I have a friend who has asked me to stitch him the Royal Regiment of Scotland Cap Badge (he is paying for it) and since I haven't been able to find the badge anywhere (the regiments combined in 2006 you would think someone would have designed the badge by now!) I am going to try and make my own :j

Complain away - all problems are significant x

What I would do if I were you is wait till about 7pm, get into my nightie/dressing gown, and sit down with a blanket over my knees and a nice hot cuppa, then watch Soaps on tv and stitch.

I wish that were me tonight - I'm heading out at 6pm and won't be in till nearly 10 :(

*Prods mags to look behind that sofa and find that oomph* :D

I downloaded KG-Chart LE - free, works perfectly, superb for little things :)

Try it, if you don't like it buy some thing a bit more expensive ;) xx

I can't remember how I heard about it, might even have been in here. Just google it. Oh, and pick the free one unless you want to pay for it!

:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
