Mary hope bus journey is a pleasant one for you.

Mum2one The deal you got on the hot air balloon sounds fab. Miss Hoodie is one lucky girl!!! Glad to hear you will hopefully have a reliable stair lift once and for all. It is my 10 year old son that is going on the trip, its to an outdoor leisure place (boats, rock climbing, mountain walking, archery etc) He is staying 2 nights so price not too bad concidering, it was just a shock to see the letter with that figure on.

cleggie my son wants a surf/skate wallet too,if i see any bargains i will let you know. I also drive my friends and family potty with the 'c' word, its great to hear im not alone.

Mary, the things I bought for the felting was the wool tops (wool that isnt spun into yarn I think it means, it is more like cotton wool), and a piece of net which cost 99p for a metre. Then I bought some olive soap as they recommended this. Other than that I needed some bubble wrap the length of the table (table would have to be long enough to lay the whole piece out on), a sheet of foam which I rolled up to make like a rolling pin and some water.

The only thing is it is a lot of repetitive movements as you need to rub the soapy water into the fibres through the net, then you have to roll the piece up in the bubble wrap around the makeshift rolling pin and roll it back and forth for 100s of times. I had to do 100 rolls then undo it and roll it up from the other end and roll again and so on 6 times in all. It still wasn't as felted as I thought it would be but might just be where I hadn't used enough of the fibres so it was a bit thin.

    Hello all :j

rufus - thanks for the in fo..........think I'll pass on doing that. Sounds like too much bending about for me i'm afraid. Best I stick to easy peasy things.

mum2one - glad stair lift is getting sorted

Managed my bus trip :T Only 7 miles but got myself all worked up before I went. Daft really but not been out of town apart from hospital for over a year let alone get on a bus on my own. Then found bus pass is wrong one ! I found I had 2 a few weeks ago, couldn;t work it out so kept the one with the longest expiry date...............turns out I kept the wrong one so now got to get another.:( Oh well, c;est la vie.

Now looking for a bag that has a long strap I can sling across me when I go out.........can't seem to find any I like .........not be beat by it though..........keep searching.

Everyone seems very busy...........keep it up:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Glad you managed the bus trip Mary. I havent been on a bus or train on my own for years now. I think I would be scared to. I know I wouldnt go on the train as I cant get over the gap at the platform station on my own but not sure about a bus on my own. My friend has been asking me to meet her in the next town along one of these afternoons but the thought of going on it on my own is putting me off.

    Hi
Just thought i'd let you know, incase you hadnt seen the thread on it, that L!dl has cellophane (plain and assorted patterns) in stock for 99p a roll.
I only managed to get 1 roll of plain for my gift baskets last Xmas, so have been and got 5 rolls this week :D

They are also doing lots of different styles of ribbon for 99p each too. Just thought you may like to know about it if you do gift baskets.

Have spoken to my mum this morning and asked what her and my younger sister want for Christmas.

She said that my younger sister is going travelling around the world in November (she finished uni in Sept) for a few years, so i thought i could do her a 'travel inspired' gift basket. Not 100% sure what i coud put into it. I have so far come up with:

    5 year diary
    Disposable camera
    Scrap book (small)

Any others ideas woud be great!

And i am going to do my mum a 'bits and bobs' gift basket and in that i'll include an assortment of stuff:

    Scarf
    Leather gloves
    Nail varnish
    Mini bottle of wine
    Posh chocs
