wow moneypenny- things are not going up by bits are they. I see cigs going up 37p not that I smoke but nearly fainted when oh said they were £8 last time I looked they were £5 lol

rufusdog-well done on all your money making exploits and having all birthdays sorted. must admit I'm not doing any. things are so time consuming. there's not enough hours in the day for all I want to do. I wish I could manage my time better.

mum2one - what a saga with the chair lift , you'd think it would be urgent and that's sort it straight away wouldn't you. glad miss hoodie had good time at waterworld.

Mary-what is primitive stitching , you have me wondering

well I'm not upto much. been making 40 boxes for a charity function. they're a bit fiddly with flowers on and glueing . there small big enough for 3 sweets. they put them on the tables at dinner apparently. silver service thing. every little helps for them and they make lots of money for charity the people who wants them. well over £50000 they've raised for different ones. the people are just a couple who likes to help x

good news got my new computer all up and running, cost me £70, but had saved the £70 from halifax goodwill gesture, so that was gd.

Should be doing OU, but got a headache, think its this weather and all the tabs, so reviewing for the afternoon, at least keeping me out of trouble!! xx

    Hello all:j

susan - primitive stitching bit hard to describe except that its very basic embroidery........just doing the outline of something but I do add a bit more than that. If you google primitive stitchery and go to images you'll see what I mean. Keeps me occupied and I can more or less make it up as I go along........don't have a pattern or anything.

Been into town today and worn out ! Managed to get last piece of yellow felt off the market stall to do a chocolate bar cover thats supposed to look like a chicken for sons girlfriend..........(just need to embroider something on her card that looks like a chicken............lol), more care from craft shop and hovered over new bag stall on the market -was hoping to get wallet for OH's birthday on Saturday but the lady forgot to bring them......next week she says. So I did a card for him, made a ''wallet'' to stick inside and tucked £5 inside (thats how much the wallet will be) and as extra bought some black licourice (yuk!) covered a cappacino box with paper, punched holes for ribbon and hey presto -gift bag for OH's pressie, such as it is.......lol
Yesterday I actually did the cushion cover for the garden bench............can't believe it was that hard doing one last year........pricked my fingers, bent the needle.........like sewing canvas it was. Still least its done now..
    Right.........sofa and tele beckon

    Hope you're all ok:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Good job Mary getting the cover done, sounds like it was a right pain in the finger lol.

Been to the hospital and doctor said he is going to sort her hernia out asap, going to check his diary and see if he can fit her in next week so she has the two week holiday to recuperate, will ring tomorrow to let me know the earliest date he can do it and go from there.

SIL took us, then dropped YD where she was going and we went and had a look round the shops. Didn't buy anything but saw some nice cardigans, I am after a white one for the summer and saw a few, have to see if I get any birthday money next month and I can treat myself to one.

OH is working tonight so I am waiting for YD to come in (out with BF) then I can get to bed as I am shattered.

    SantasChallenge March

Another month, another challenge, including Miss Hoodies corner!!

    =MothersDay=

Hopeeveryone had a good Mothers Day, and got spolit, whether that was with a hug acard or a lovely gesture. Must say my bar of Aero was lush, thou it gotshared!!

    =Easter=

Thats thenext "expensive" event to hit us, at the mo the supermarkets aredoing eggs for £1. Although it can be hit and miss to the choices available,Just a thought but if you have to buy any and you want to ensure nut freeproduction = asda - have Kinerton range £1. (Hello Kitty, Disney Princess,Sponge Bob Square Pants, Thomas the Tank engine) - egg, small choc bar and somemellows..

It may beworth getting a couple of extra eggs in incase of emergency

    =Feelslike the Christmas Chat=

To us itsthe four of us, but just check if you've got a house full or you need to besomewhere.

Also -schools - I know ours have a Easter design competation, So may be worthchecking if you need to do anything, rather than the night before emergencymeasure!!

    =MissHoodies Corner=

    TheGarden and The Shed

Ifyour grass is anything like ours it looks like a jungle, - just a shame I'mallergic to grass, otherwise would offer to cut the lawns!!

Thegarden shed, MIND THE COBWEBS, - how much as been dumped in there, - do youreally need it, ask a man that, he will say yes i brought it for x,y,z... andwe're still waiting for the jobs to be done.

    =Best Free Activity=

You don't have to be engertic if youdon't want to be, but if anyone can come up with free ideas for Easter, -themore the merrier.

=3 months review= Use this month forbirthdays

I can't believe that we're in Marchalready, -so me thinks for a review and a change of plans if we need to, asMiss Hoodie has got you working hard, thought we'd go for the gentle approach!

    Things like

Birthday presnts - how many more doI need, set budgets , those brought - do we know where they are?

Birthday Cards -Can I make any, do Ineed to buy any - don't forget Card waregouse has some bargains. One tip we'vedone is brought some number sheets - great for Miss Hoodie for school.

Wrapping Paper - try to keep some instock, rather than the emergency rush

    =Weather=

Hopefullythe weather is going to be nice to us, tomorrow is British Summer time, - butnot warm enough for my legs on show! but after the lovely winter weather, - ourfeet may need some tlc - again money saving - tub of aqueous, does 1001 things, vaseline, - elbows, heels etc, cold teabags for the eyes.

    =Stamps=

Aprilis the time they zap the price of the stamps up - from the sound of it thereadding quite a bit to them, even if you get 12 atamps in stock, just help.

    =Ebay=

There is afree weekend this weekend, I actually sit on the fence with this as it has itspros and cons.

    PROS-(mainly for thr buyer)

We grab theitems that are above 99p, so of course if we're doing it, then a good wack ofpeople are so as a buyer your going to get a better deal as there be more choice.

As a seller- yes we save on fees - but you need to make sure your not undeercutting theitem and allow for ebay costs (i've sold a suit + pr of shorts £14 (pluspostgae) even before paypal have taken their share the ebay fees £1.60 (theywere listed on free weekend - its just the end cut)

    CONS =(mainly sellers)

eg plus sizeitem then put plus size.

used bra --model it - the price goes through the roof (not brave enough!!), make yourlisting standing out.

Goingback to the postage - without sounding daft parcels will go up as well, -apologies mother hen moment - its not whether you use a 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 day -its when the person pays, most buyers pay within a couple of days, but if youget a late payer and your going into the new posting rate=

Only thatyou are up against a lot more sellers, - look for a unique selling point,
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    Hello all :j

    mum2one - another challenge ??

    To do:
Shed - back shed now no more......garage has become shed and in need of megga clearout/tidy

    Done:
Easter cards and covered couple of choccy bars with felt to look like chicken and rabbit (well sort of........lol) Need to get egg for grandson and bag of white choc buttons for foster daughters baby and put it in a box of some sort.

Birthday cards and most pressies sorted.
Wrapping paper......... slight panic then remembered some striped wallpaper I've got that should do the trick.

So not too bad .......I think;)

OH's birthday went ok.........he loved his card and licourice....and I can claim back the covered cappacino box and re-use it............lol
Floral jacket I ordered was gross colour..not like the picture so thats going back and I'm not looking any more. Found my velvet jacket and I'm wearing that........its black but with my blue outfit should be ok. Had ordered a blue floral fleece and that was lovely so all was not lost.

Son is coming up with girlfriend and little grandson on 31st for couple of days.........be lovely to see them so must get cleaner to blitz the upstairs.........and down if she gets time.

    Hope you're all ok:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
