Its been a bit chilly here too Mary. We have put our gas fire on tonight as it feels so cold, even OH feels it and he is usually moaning at me.

I have been having a go at felting today. I made a scarf, its a bit raggly as I wasn't too sure what I was doing even though I had a book to show me lol. I am quite pleased with it although it has some holes in it but I think it makes it look rustic. I will take a photo tomorrow when it has dried out. I am going to put it away for ED's Christmas present as it was her who bought me the book in the first place. Think it would be best to roll it with some tissue paper to store it so it doesn't get creases in it. I have plenty of wool left to make some more so will have another go may be over the weekend.

Thanks Mary for good luck wishes xxx

Brrr very cold here too, think we were spoilt last week with sunshine and mild temps. I have managed to sort shed out and have put DD old bike on ebay and get rid of other things. Its surprising how much you accumulate over the winter months. That money will help towards the ipod YS wants for his birthday (boy the presents get more expensive every year) and he is only 10.

    Xmas Saver!
Can't believe I'm on 1,000th post, time flies, so me the sentimental sod I am wanted it to be on this post.

QueenBee- Welcome back, big hugs xx Hope everything oges ok re contact, I'm in same boat, got our hearing next month.

This is weird your son is coming up 10, Miss Hoodie is going to be 10, not 3rd coinsidence, she hasn't asked for an Ipod, she wants a hot air ballon flight!

Mary - Thats brillant news about the green fabric,

Def agree the weather, we had to nip out this morning, had a chest xray and blood test to see if we can get to the bottom of this chest bug, the GP saw Monday, its 2nd time seen him, he seems to work miracles, just sods law he's a locum. its always the way...

Pips Mum- That smile is getting bigger, I think I'm having your cravings, for the last 3 weeks i've been craving hard boiled eggs, bit not till about 11pm at ngt, sure its these tablets... be a scientific miracle if it was anything else!

Rufus - Wish you lived nearer our sewing machine is still in the box 2 yrs later!!

Fun here, mums stairlift died last ngt, at the rate were going we need a spare bedroom for the engineer, - shouldn't laugh but when the engineer said he'd come out last night to have a look, be about 11pm, I explained that it was same prob as before, - needed a wack of parts (he didn't have on him) and wasn't fair for him to drive 90mins each wasy for a wasted journey.

Then about 10 mins later phone rings - one of the branch managers - not even our area, the engineer had rang him to see whether he could accept me saying don't come out or whether he would, but when I explained to the boss, he was really nice, then said, are you going to be ok getting to bed, - yea eventually - (I watch TV, Open Uni or the internet!!), he thought I couldn't get upstairs and offered to drive across and help to me bed... best offer I'd had all ngt, had to say I'll manage it mum that needs the help...

    - Good news!! two engineers out, 8 hrs they were here, fixed the stairlift, but said we'll see you within the month, ok have we got a service booked - asked, we'd had a laugh with them, the one bloke said, its not far past it, (18mths old), the same part is going to again, only had it all done 3 mths ago... 2 hrs later it came to an almighty crunch, and conked out, - lucky mum was one step from the bottom, but its shook her her.
Back through all the saga, - not the blokes fault at all, it boils down to its a pig in a poke and no-one wants to take full responsibility for it - but they get no choice as the company that are contracted to fix it, have said they won't fix it its unuseable... so fun and games to come 2mor!! xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Mum2one hope you get your mums stair lift sorted quickly, what a drama lol. Hot air balloon flight!!!!! i hope you have been saving! Miss Hoodie must be very brave/adventurous for her age.

Pips mum know what you mean about the cold and fire taking you back to November. Someone had a fire down the road last night and was very misty, i thought the same.

Rufus im sure the scarf looks fab.

Right i am going to have to start saving for Christmas now, This month is the last payment for YS school trip, it was £166. Im sure i didnt have trips like that when i was younger.

    Hello all :j

Just a quickie as OH is serving up dinner -bit late but never mind.

mum2one - what dramas and laughs you have.............hope its sorted ok

rufus - saw Kirsty Alsop doing that felting before Christmas and would love to have a go but it looked like you had to buy a lot of bits to do it so I shelved that idea.

Not done a lot today except play with fosterdaughters baby and make coffee for gardener chap while he shifted the last of the rubble from the shed.
Off to see my friend tomorrow - on the bus ! First time since my back went so hoping I can manage the hard seats on the bus there. Only 7 miles so should be ok,

    Hope you're all ok:)

Good news with the stair lift - its been condemmed.... so we have to go through the saga of having quotes then applying for grants, and then fitted, but there going to rush it through...

The dentist - got away with just an x-ray today, its been confirmed as an absess, not sure how deep its gone, so back next week. Guess it makes a change from stalkering the GPs.

We now have balloon flights booked, got half price deals, £85 each, one company wanted £250 per person, so dads over the moon as shes under 16 shes got to have an adult with her, don't think I'd get my leg over the basket!!, he loves hot air balloons he's been up twice, so is bursting to go, he last went 2 yrs ago and she wanted to go then. But (theres always a but - to get it for the £85 each - they fly at 6am!), so mums paying for dads as his bday and I'm doing Miss Hoodies. Luckly had some loony vouchers, so conned dad into buying them off me and use them off the shopping! crafty... but saves some money.

She went in a helicopter 2 yrs ago and then wanted to go back up, I'm lucky as she has never been an "I want", thou her holiday list includes, lapland, Cuba, Egypt, Dom Rep, ......where did I leave that rich man!!

QueenB - wheres your daughter off to, - with a price like that sounds better than my school trip, showing my age now. Hope the xmas list is started!!! I've planned a review of xmas prezzie list for Easter, xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    Hi Ladies (and gents)
Is it OK if i join in please?
I have been driving my friends and famiy mental by already mentioning the C word as early as Feb :D

I am determined to have everything ready by October this year.
    I already have got:
    Wrapping paper
    Cards
Gift tags (recycled from last yrs xmas cards)
    Decorations for house & Tree
    Cellotape
    Cellophane for hampers
    Christmas song CD

Bought the kids 1st Chrstmas presents for 2012 in the argos clearence sale. Its an accessory kit for their DSiXLs each, reduced to £7 from £20 :)

Am looking out everywhere for things that are cheap/reduced/bargins to put in their stockings. Especially want to get a cool wallet for my 12 yr old- a surf style one preferably, so am hunting high and low for one at the mo, if anyone sees one it would be great if you could let me know :)

Will also be putting an extra few pounds into the savings pot to be able to afford those dreaded winter gas and elec bills!

Have started saving the morrisons saving stamps and already have £20 worth, and hoping to have £80 by the time Xmas is here.

Really looking forward to it already!

Hi Cleggie, a big welcome, that sounds a bargain for the dsi xl kit, - your organised brilliantly all ready,

Its worth keeping an eye on the Argos website, they have a clearance section, usually half way down the page, you can go and in search into any store, - can get some bargains.

Have you had a look on ebay outlet stores, - may be worth a try for the wallet, the only shop I could think of is Animal, but I call that 2nd mortage to get through the dr!
Or after fathers day - the card shops tend to clear fathers say items, - same be as Monday - mothers day some gifts can be put up for bdays. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
