hahaha well done on you payment mum2one

had to laugh though at dad wanting his money first.

well DS moved back from uni yesterday. he can't put up with those childish. immature slobs he says. lol . he took photos and sent them to some high ups in uni. he's only been there since September. they're in a block of 6 and two of the guys are awful. they threaten to beat him up if he don't give them lifts everywhere. they leave all the windows to the communal parts unlocked. they been robbed twice. the mess . well I leave that to your imagination but sam went to docs because he had a rash and he asked him had he been near faecies. uurggg.

And they're forever taking windscreen wipers off his car and hiding them. taking his aerial off. so after numerous complaints at reception. who were doing things like spot-checks and got him to park his car at security a mile from his house. giving the boys warnings etc . they told 4of the 6 they could cancel their contracts if they want and live somewhere else. so he was told yesterday lunchtime and by teatime 3 of the 4 moved out . ...

At least he is still going Susan, must have been bad for him though They should be able to report it easier and get it seen to when people are like this.

Our YD has said she dont want to go to college any more, said she doesnt like her course and wants to do a different one come september and wants to get a job in the mean time. We have had to tell her she cant leave until she actually finds a job as we will lose too much money until she can replace it. Dont know what is going to happen as there dont seem to be any jobs out there for her anyway.

Ok, I am now fighting with the urge to cull the hubby family from the present list.As a big family everybody made the decision years ago that we would just buy for the kids in the family and hubbys parents. For years I have made sure that my hubbys 2 brothers and 1 sisters kids have their presents wrapped and delivered before Christmas Day. Most of the time my kids dont get anything from hubby brothers and sister, the odd occasion that they do get something it is usually after christmas.
This year his sister has not bothered to get my 2 kids anything again!! 3rd or 4th year running now. And his other 2 brothers havent either and none of them have even rang, text to say thanks for their kids presents. We have seen the family twice over christmas and nobody said a word. I have been rationalising that at the end of the day its not my nieces and nephews fault and I should still buy them presents. I even informed hubbys sister that her kids christmas presents had been hidden for her to take home and she said you shouldnt of bothered. Right there and then i thought to myself, next year I wont be doing. I text the wife of hubbys brother to see if the present I got her son had fit him and she has not even bothered to reply.now I think is it fair to not buy the kids anything?

I'm sorry for you, that is unbelievable, ur working ur rear off to make sure his family has presents, I'm not a person who buys a present to get one back, but where children are concerned esp family.

I'm guessing that they have made the decison that they don't want to buy, so i would just say dont bother next yr.

I too would make the decision not to buy. I have had the same thing for the last 5 years. Every year I have bought my nieces and nephews, 4 one family 2 another.

I have never had a thank you christmas or birthday. They`ve never bought back but I thought dont take it out on the kids. I used to post the things and often wondered if it had got there . So I started leaving stuff at a friends who lived nearby to them and she`d deliver it xmas eve.

Never have I been thanked. This year. My SIL went to my friends house and asked where the presents were. even accused friend of taking them.....

So from now on no more and I already feel better as I thought to myself, they wont notice they`re not having them, but now I know the parents did notice....and I`ve kept the money for myself. Ps used to spend about £30 each and the two eldest would have a cheque (so I`d know they got it when they cashed it)

    Hello all :j

susan - I agree with you on that one........no sense spending money when its not appreciated.

    mum2one - well done with the Halifax:T
Had phone call from ICAS this morning about my hospital complaint and the lack of response apart from ''apologies for delay''. She reckons to give it 2 more weeks then write to the ombudsman as its the time span since I sent complaint - September- and still waiting is unreasonable. Apparently they've quite a backlog so they must have a lot of complaints to deal with but that doesn't alter the fact mine needs sorting out. So, we'll wait and see.

Not done much today apart from make a few more xmas cards but I did manage to tidy my desk and file away some papers.........not all but its a start. Maybe tomorrow I'll get the urge to finish off what I started.

    Hope you're all ok:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Evening all

We had a look round the charity shops today, I bought myself a new handbag, very pleased with it, just what I was looking for. I also bought a nice set with notelets and envelopes, notebook and address book inside a lovely box that looks like a clutch bag. I was going to give it to ExMil for her birthday but on closer scrutiny I found that the crease where the flap goes over is a bit torn so I have decided to keep it for myself instead. It is very pretty and I need a new address book anyway.

I had a parcel come while we were out today, they left it in the porch so lucky it was still there when we got home. It was some fabric I had ordered yesterday. Very pleased with it all. Three bits are to make tops for myself so it will give me something else to do. I also got a bit of nursery fabric to make youngest GS a taggy with the ribbons around the outside. I havent made one before but they look easy to do. I have lost something I made though, I made my sister a bag for Christmas for this coming year. I had nearly finished it, it just needed a fastener on the pocket to do it up so I had left it in my craft room. I bought the fasteners on Monday so went up to get it and its vanished. I have looked right through the room, had all the cupboard out but its not in there. Last time I was working on it was before Christmas so I havent got the foggiest idea where it went. OH has been up in the loft this afternoon to see if he had put it up there when he got the Christmas decs down as he put some stuff up there then but he cant see it. Its really annoying as it was beautiful oriental fabric as she loves things like that and it wasnt cheap either.

Oh dear, that's really annoying Rufus. I remember the fabric from your bl*g and it was lovely. I hope it will turn up soon.
