I've never been so productive as I have been today - pictures hung, laundry all done, house is perfect and I have a nice roast for myself in the oven. It is only ONE day - think of all the unhappy families all fighting today and thank god that we are able to spend the day on our own - with memories of those no longer with us.

can I empathise with you although my situation is not quite the same? I've kept wishing my little boy was here, lost through a termination I was bullied into and all day when my 3 year old has been playing with his new toys I keep thinking they both should be playing together, the empty chair at dinner he should be having christmas dinner with us. They say grief gets easier with time but its always been so raw for me. I hope others on here have found the day ok xxx
