So budget tyres - are they still ojkay to get. I drive quite smoothly and don't do any harsh braking so they should last a good while still I am assuming???

Durun if you are looking for economical tyres £100 a pair from Car and Tyre Services in Wolverton.

It's a good price, Federals are ok in their own right, and were good on one of our cars last winter, and the Kenda have good partnerships.

    Federals first.
I don't know the rapids, so would put them down the list.

    Found the Rapid.

For anyone that thinks the chinese aren't going anywhere with tyres

    http://www.shengtaigroup.cn/

"Shengtai Group was established in 2002, and is located in Xishui Shandong-which is famous for “China Tire First Village” and the largest tire production base in Shandong Province."

Their will be no one apart from the chinese making tyres at this rate.

Add Evergreen and Good ride to the list. All pretty much the same price.

Budgets are fine, even more so if you are a good driver.

Any budget I have had have lasted just as long as the more expensive tyre.

You find out just how bad budget tyres are the first time you need to rely on needing good tyres.

They absolutely are not fine , unfortunately some people will only find that out the hard way. Too many other threads to go on about it but to the op, please just spend a little more on some reasonable rubber or look around for some at that price

Eveb something like the falken 912 would be a better choice at 72 fitted, still not a great tyre if I'm being honest but I would be willing to bet it will far outperform your others
