and theres plenty of folks who will and have reported posties for answering the call of nature behind bushes and the like
RM don't make provision for staff on delivery

There are some very small minded and inadequate people out there if they'd report such a thing.

Anyone find this a bit odd that a postie was lurking in a young woman's porch or am I freaking out over nothing?

    Yes, of course I do

I see the postie on my way out regularly enough to be fairly certain he knows I live alone

He definitely knows you live alone, as he sees who the post for your house is addressed to

He had no reason to be on your property that day, let alone almost inside

    Yes I would be concerned

IF I complained to the PO I would complain about their lack of providing toilet arrangements for their staff, not about the individual or his behaviour, just say I had become aware of this due to your postman needing to ask to use your loo.

Then if they are aware of any previous odd behaviour by the person they can consider it as part of the bigger picture and keep an eye.

You won't hear an outcome and can just use this as an opportunity to review your security

well your first port of call would be Royal Mail
no point in complaing to the PO
good luck on getting RM to provide any thought to their staff on delivery.
deliveries are 'planned' to the second and staff needs dont come into it

I'm curious as to what RM could do to accomodate their staffs need to toilet facilities... especially considering everybodies bodily functions are different, one person may need to go every hour another one a day.

Maybe have a trailor and portaloo on call and connect an emergency alarm to the posties trolley/bike/bag with tracking abilities, so when it's pressed the loo must be with the postie within x minutes>>>

it is a real issue though
deliveries have no plan in place for exactly what staff are meant to do
deliveries are now hitting 4.5 hours on the street
I recently discovered(i was walking by one, before any of the folks in fear of their lives from the postie) that the Edinburgh bus company LRT has toilets on some of their routes for drivers

That's not the point - the point is to bring it to his employers' attention without seeming to complain about his behaviour

(But it used to be accepted that builders just used the householders' loos but now they have to have facilities provided, hence portaloos in customers' front gardens)

how would you word the complaint to the Police?
would you drop in at the Post office on the way there or on the way back?
is it for stamps or a postal order?

I hope you didn't leave the car unattended when it was running, it takes seconds for somebody to jump in and drive off.

My neighbour leaves her car running for 30 mins every morning when she takes the kids to school. That's 28 minutes more than the time it takes for her to drive to school.

If I'm in bed I can hear and feel the vibration of the engine through my pillow. I dread winter.
