Even though the 75% off sale hasn't yet started > when does the 90% off sale start| ;)

Last year it was 2nd Feb, so exactly 2 weeks after the 75% started.
  • Still 5 isles packed with goods at Taunton. Two assistants were looking at the goods and saying what they had bought and recommending the other buy something now as there were not many left ( I couldn't un obviously see what!!) and they didnt think they would get any cheaper whilst there still were any. As I was casually stalking them I don't think they realised I was listening so it was a genuine conversation and I am pretty sure the staff are all in the dark as we are! There are not many mens sets left mainly FCUK ones. They were putting more of the 75% black bags out yesterday afternoon when I went in to get some photos and they had all gone by 10AM today and people were still buying lots of stuff at half price.
They had just added gift tins to the sale such as sponsor a reindeer or big cat or bear and the date on these is from when you register the last chance to do this is in 2013 so ideal for an unusual Christmas present for 2012 they are now £10 but as I am going to Aviemore my husband is having one as his valentines present and can see his herd!!
  • Went into our local this morning it's only a small boots didn't have a lot left nut still bits I could have bought at 75%, I asked SA if they were expecting 75% sale, she said they had no word from head office yet and has been told that things are selling well at 50% so there may not even be a 75% sale. I won't be buying a thing unless they do as at full price the items are way overpriced at half price ok but only worth it for me if they go to 75%, Boots may be left with a lot in the bigger stores if they don't go to 75%. Hope it's on next Wed if it's not then like a lot of others Boots won't be getting anything from me!!

Everyone has been told that everything is selling well at 50%

I don't think so - as they seem to have a lot more stock in all stores compared to last year. So if it was selling well, surely they would have less stock?

Boots are very good at advertising their 75% - They don't have too. MSE people do it for them for free!!
  • Wandered into my Boots today, just to have a look at what stock they had. All the Christmas stuff was completely gone. It wasn't even a case of blank shelves - the shelves were full, just not with the gift sets etc. So, if and when the 75% sale does arrive, I know now not to bother lol. Shame but nevermind - when it does come, I hope the other posters manage to get a bargain. :)

One thing ive always wondered is why do they order so much stock year on year. Every year there seems to be as much stock left after christmas than there in in the lead up!

I know they dont want to become short stocked but surely they must over order by lots and lots. That said, I dont want them to order less next year as I enjoy the 50% off boxing day sale and then the 75,90% sales! :)

Lots of Liberty Hello Kitty stuff in Telford too - just remembered that.

As for toddler tantrums - at 2 I would do a little notebook with pictures of the shopping in and my son sat in the trolley and looked while we found everything on the list. Sometimes he'd have a pencil or crayon and tick things off. Otherwise he had a Aqua draw travel thing to scribble on. There were times when I had to carry him because he'd be wailing but most of the time he did as he was told because he had no choice. He knows what I expect from him and mainly does it although I've had the lying on the floor having a paddy thing once or twice. Once I sat next to him and had my own paddy amd he shut up pretty fast. Maybe I'm just a horrible mother and way too hard on my kids ;). The worse thing for me was having two toddlers in a trolley which toughened me up. Or maybe when one of them needs a wee and you have a full trolley and another child sat there so you have to find a staff member so you can leave the trolley and dash off with one under your arm and the other doing the wee wee dance alongside you :rotfl:. So glad two are at school so I only have to deal with one during the day.

Well Boots have saved me a fortune by not having their sale today!
I hadn't had a chance to look at what was left for 75% sale and, had the sale been on, I would probably have grabbed loads of things just because they were reduced. I had a good look round today though and for me there isn't really anything left worth buying so I'll save myself a trip into town and a fortune.
Bought myself a cardigan in M and S with the money I had ear-marked for the sale- much more useful!

There was still quite a lot of stock in Cannock yesterday when I went in, no one seemed to be buying anything much. I did notice that since I was in there at the weekend they've added fragrance gift sets at half price, they were on the shelves amongst the rest of the sale stock - there were quite a few but the ones I remember there being were YSL Parisienne, something by Guerlain, something by Givenchy, Ed Hardy, Diesel For Life for Men and Britney Spears Fantasy.
