Boots 1/2 Price Sale

You can't blame the stores for not wanting to sell off good name brands at very low prices, it devalues them to the consumer. Someone I know used to have a shop and they used to send back the fudge to be re-packaged with a new sell by date!! :eek:

Not all things can be re-packaged though, can they, biscuit tins, etc.

Last year there was lots of Sanctuary stuff in the 75% in a store near my friend in Devon, so they can't have re-packaged that, which I would have though would have been a good target item as the contents are exactly the same as they sell individually.

I think it's all a bit of fun personally, to speculate on what's happening. We mustn't take it too seriously - it's just soap and stuff! I know people stock up on pressies for the year, but I think my friend would probably like some variety in their gifts this year.:rotfl:

I think its intersting- wouldn't say fun as I don't like the fact that I seem to -without trying, get my hopes up and then not realise I've done so until I hear something like this (the pulling of items for the sale) being mentioned.

I think its interesting because its relective of whats happening with brands, how the recession and etc has affected them I suppose. Also shows different ways of dealing with the financial problems the brand may be having and that just when you think they're trapped they release another tactic that shows they are more then capable of protecting themselves!

Still, would have been nice if it had all turned out to be 75% off everything which had been left (and not taken back at the last minute) wouldn't it? (insert dreaming smiley here!)

Originally £18.00, reduced to £9 in my local Boots (I haven't seen any priced £7.50). I keep picking it up and putting it back down, I have bought too many Sanctuary gift sets for gifts so really do not need any more.

Eek, nooooo, there's still some lovely Sanctuary products here at same prices as Boots 50% off (but don't know of any free P&P codes) - won't look....<peeking>:p

Just been into my main store and staff were putting out big crates of the xmas stock - refilling pretty much all the shelves...........

It's sounding more and more likely it will be this Wednesday. Boots has an odd habit of saving back stock so there is plenty for the 75% off sale, even though you'd think they want to sell it at 50%. Or maybe they think if the shelves are bare, people will grab it up at 50% as it looks like none will be left if they wait.

If anyone else hears/sees anything indicating when the sale may be, please share!
