Thanks, that should be the case. Went today but there was a sign by them saying you could not use the NO7 voucher. I guess it would be to0 cheap otherwise for boots lol.
How strange. I've used a voucher on the Christmas palette last year I think. I might see when I get a voucher what the Ts&Cs are as that's definitely not a gift set!!No buying unnecessary toiletries/makeup in May: Unnecessary spend £17.60
May INs: 14 UUs/OUTs/GAs: 11
2012 INs: 77 UUs/OUTs/GAs: 91
Savings from UUs: £60.50

Maybe when they were full price at £13 it was fine as with a voucher it would be £8 and now it would only be £1.50 so they wouldn't make much money out of it.
Yes its not a gift set and the other items on the stand were also the christmas things which are now reduced.
The voucher T & C's says they can not be used on reduced items, maybe that is why, but in the past even though the vouchers say that, they were still usuable because they also work with 3 for 2's and free eye pallettes.
Oh well if anyone does give it a go - much appreciated but must be nationwide0 -
Boots in Middlesbrough is groaning under the weight of all the christmas stock ... if anything there seems to be MORE on the shelves than when I did my Xmas shop at the beginning of December! Hurry up 75% off0

Is the eye palette in your previous post reduced as I can only see the current price of £6.50
Although it is not a 'gift set' as such, I think they class it as a set because it has more than one item in the set (ie: different shades). I had the same problem when trying to purchase a nail varnish french manicure set which only contained 3 x 10ml nail vanish (top coat, base coat and tip whitener). It was around £10 or more but I could not use my £5 No7 voucher yet they let you purchase individual nail vanish at £7 and only pay £2 with the voucher so it would probably work out cheaper that way with three vouchers.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
If look under seasonal gifts it's showing Christmas 6000 plus items
( what I don't get though is its a new website??)
Thanks to this site saved over £3000 -
Get a grip Poppyb.
You didn't loose any money. You got extra back. These things happen. You were lucky you managed to get a order submitted, a lot of people couldn't manage that. And it's not as if you're buying life saving drugs, only gift sets i presume?
this obviously hasnt happened to you before! it doesnt matter what my items were- the point is the email saying item dispatched and then another saying am not getting it!
if they didnt have the stock to meet demand for example then they shouldnt confirm and say they have dispatched orders.
it bad customer practice which needs identifying and rectifying!0 -
It probably isn't that intelligent to draw their attention (more than it already is) to a forum that actively encourages people to exploit all their software glitches and propagates rumours about their company's business strategy....
businesses rely on customers! if we the customer receive bad service for whatever reason we have a right to complain about it and forums like this exist to help other customers to inform us of potential problems and also to acknowledge good service! im not a person that usually complains- however on this occasion i felt i needed to! boots need to improve on their service simple as !:(
theres more than this forum online for people to use! its not about propagating rumours! its cold hard facts, and if you look back on this site, you will see im not the only person who has ufortunately had problems with boots online orders!
if companys improve their services ( which boots stated they are going to do to prevent this from happening again to whoever) then this is a satisfactory outcome! :T0 -

It's called a system glitch, unfortunately it happens. Boots website was overloaded on Christmas Eve when the sale went live and many were not lucky enough to put their orders through. Some of us who did manage to place orders (including myself) even went to store to purchase the same items in case orders were cancelled.
I'll ask again since you avoided my question. What are you hoping to acheive by sending Boots a 'snotty' email threatening to bad mouth them on a forum.. after they have refunded you and gave you £10 in points plus 25% off your next online order? What more do you want (apart from your order)?A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
Is anyone else having problems with the website? Trying to place an order but it won't let me sign in to complete the transaction.0

I've been trying for a while this evening to put through an online order and it kept getting to the payment authorisation stage (linking to my bank) and throwing up a generic error:mad:
Finally managed to get the order through just now - only an order for a single item to be collected instore.0
