The sales assistants in my Boots were saying they couldn't believe how quiet the 1/2 price sale has been, much busier last year. Went yesterday and we bought loads - no queuing even. Went back today and the shelves were still full. I wonder if that means there will be a 75%...hope so, we'll see.

I think that's what people think, or what people are prepared to spend, but I guess they will just sell stuff on if it remains.

Nooo I have been waiting for this all year :(

In 2 minds now to get what I want in the 50% sale or wait just incase....

Edit: All the online stuff I wanted has gone now anyway.

I bought the stuff i NEEDED on christmas eve when the sale went online, and if the 75% sale happens i ll just buy loads of extras :j

Hope there is a 75% sale after this news :(

Surly if the shelves are still full by the time it gets to mid January though they will decide to run a 75% sale, cant see other retailers such as ASOS buying all of there stock. I think we will see a 75% sale maybe just with some of the 'better' bargains removed (sold on to other companies)?
  • I have stayed true to my word and not placed an online order but I am amazed I spent nothing yesterday in store....and I had lots of points but just not tempted enough by any of it.

There was a time my basket would have been full !

    What has happened?!

Whatever it is I am not alone......

I have a feeling the 50% sale will be on for a while before the 75% one kicks in.

I was amazed how much was on the shelves today, I wasn't buying as I only buy cruelty free/vegan ranges but wanted to check what Ted Baker products were in as they are cruelty free, don't recall the stock levels being so high in previous years.

I wasn't tempted, either. Most of the items have gone up a couple of quid since last year, making it less tempting still. Whether they sell a lot or not, I think they always go to 75% in a couple of weeks anyhow, they have to get it out of the way to make room for other stock. I'm hoping everyone continues to leave it on the shelf and we'll all get a better bargain.
  • the 75% off was on jan the 19th last year. I know this as i was all ready to go and points were ready but my baby was born at 3 in the morn so didnt make it lol!!! mum went for me instead!!! :)
  • My mum and I went for a wander around the sales today and was amazed at the sheer number of the Yum at heart soap and glory sets and also the amount of the FCUK bags left, I bought a few little bits for myself and as gifts for birthdays...but there was just so much stock on the shelves!

  • Most of the Boots near me don't have much left of the decent S&G stuff, or any fragrance giftsets. Prehaps certain stores had limited stock and it's sold out and some stores had better stock levels and are not so busy as last year?

Saying that I got talking to one of the customers whilst we were waiting for Boots to open at 8am (another local store opened at 7am) and she said that she visited Manchester and noticed that the Boots there had mountains of the S&P OOTW sets whereas the Stoke-on-Trent branches had limited stock. Maybe it's like a postcode lottery of retail?
