    Hello Everyone:wave:
I have been receiving Martin's email for a couple of years but have only read the forums over the last week or so.
You may find this hard to believe, but until last weekend I didn't know Boots ever had a 75% off sale!!
I have bought a few items at 50% off and after reading ALL the threads about this sale I really want to go........
However, I am a teacher and obviously cannot have a day off for a sale :rotfl:I also have meetings on Weds so the earliest I could get to Boots is around 6pm.
What is the chance of them having anything left at this time??
I really wish they would reduce a big item every week along with a few other things so that everyone had a chance for a bargain and then it would stop people from buying trolley loads - to sell on for their own profits:(
Surely then Boots would make more money as people like myself would pick up a few other bits if going along for a greatly reduced item. My local Boots (Fosse Park) still had the FCUK bags when I went along at 7pm on the day after it went to 75%- (I didn't get one as my 11 year old daughter described them as "Manky" and I realised I shared her opinion!) .. but I bought other things - not sale stuff.

I think I may have become slightly addicted to reading these forums! Please can someone tell me I'll get something! I want to join in!

It will vary from store to store what's left later on in the day to be honest. My local was quite chilled out last year, mainly mums coming in after the school run and my mum couldn't get their til 4ish and still managed to get some nice bits. Saying that my friend went to the Boots in the next town around 11 and it was heaving, a right old scrum like some of the other stories on here.

Hopefully theres something left at yours :)

Oh my GOODNESS!!!!!!!! ..... I now think I would rather cut my own right ear off than attend a Boots sale! lol

I have never been to one & didn't even know they did a big 75% off sale on a certain day instore till now....

Will be avoiding it in the morning , possibly if at all if I can , might brave it in the afternoon when the greedy masses have gone , let 'em have it I say as my worst nightmare would be getting involved in any kind of ''SCRUM''!!

Don't let some of the horror stories put you off cazza, I think it all depends on which branch you visit! I was in Lancaster last year on the first day of the 75% off sale (unfortunately I don't live there!) and couldn't get to Boots until about 10.30 a.m. I couldn't believe how civilised it all was and there were still lots of bargains to be had. Fortunately DH was with me and between us we managed to manhandle 3 baskets piled high with bargains to the checkout! That was most of my Xmas presents sorted!

If the sale starts on the 18th this year (as some think) I shall be at home and fear it might be a different story at my own local branch!!!

  • Just noticed tesco direct have a sale of selected toys ( about 15 toys ) some have 75% off. Might help the few that are looking for toys and might be disappointed by boots. Delivery to store is free.

Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:

That's why I say 'to a point' If there are say, 5 of them and there is a limit of 3 per person then they can only nab 15 of 1 item as opposed to the entire shelf unit they got last time!

They'll be lucky if there is 15 or more of each item left. I have noticed a lot of stock disappearing from my local store over the past week. My local Boots has 2 floors (so not a small store) so I wouldn't have thought extra stock would have been moved to another store.

Someone mentioned that they got lucky in a smaller branch of Boots about 15 - 20 minutes before closing the Tuesday BEFORE the sale started. They had put up the posters so honoured the price at the till. Might be worth a look for you on your way home from work the night before?

well I've just visited the store near me that usually has the most varied stock of Christmas gifts for the 75% sale - and I won't be going this year. Half of what is usually there (in quantity) and very little in the way of variety. No hair sets (which I usually buy) no nice fragrance sets or toys, but loads of Liberty Hello Kitty, No7 hatboxes and big boxes, and Sanctuary big boxes too.

I bought one lone UG hair set I found hiding behind a Strictly box, half price but did it in the same transaction as my vitamin glitch, so ended up paying 80p more than I would have on 75% off (plus I saved the hassle and car parking fee of going on Wednesday).

So thats me down to one store if it goes 75% off on Weds - won't manage to get to that one before Weds for a recce :rotfl:.

does anyone know what the stock is like in birmingham?

I was in the high street branch thursday - loads of sanctuary stuff, quite a few Project D bits and a reasonable amount of other stuff. No FCUK, Champneys, S&G, Ted Baker that I could see but still about 4 ailse and the whole of the back wall.

I'll be checking out the other two branches mon/tues and will see whats left in the big branch :D
