Hardly anything in Maidenhead, basically only one of the upstairs aisles of sale stock left which is unusual. Not sure about the specific items you've mentioned.

Thanks for letting me know lemon curd, that's quite dissappointing as usually maidenhead has loads of stuff. I usually go there as opposed to my local reading as they usually have a better selection and more stock. I'm not sure what to do this year, go reading first, then maidenhead, or not bother at All ! If the stock levels change between now and Wednesday (I'm convinced the 75% sale will be this wednesday) could you please post. Thank you so much.

I would also like to know about Bournemouth, Castelpoint or Poole.. any helpers please? xx

*eta* Ignore me, I was talking M&S in the boots thread - sorry!
  • Is that you Rowena? ;0)
Castle point, winton & Boscombe pretty empty. Haven't been in to town yet to check it out.
Hi, no I'm not Rowena :)
  • Hello Everyone:wave:
I have been receiving Martin's email for a couple of years but have only read the forums over the last week or so.
You may find this hard to believe, but until last weekend I didn't know Boots ever had a 75% off sale!!
I have bought a few items at 50% off and after reading ALL the threads about this sale I really want to go........
However, I am a teacher and obviously cannot have a day off for a sale :rotfl:I also have meetings on Weds so the earliest I could get to Boots is around 6pm.
What is the chance of them having anything left at this time??
I really wish they would reduce a big item every week along with a few other things so that everyone had a chance for a bargain and then it would stop people from buying trolley loads - to sell on for their own profits:(
Surely then Boots would make more money as people like myself would pick up a few other bits if going along for a greatly reduced item. My local Boots (Fosse Park) still had the FCUK bags when I went along at 7pm on the day after it went to 75%- (I didn't get one as my 11 year old daughter described them as "Manky" and I realised I shared her opinion!) .. but I bought other things - not sale stuff.

I think I may have become slightly addicted to reading these forums! Please can someone tell me I'll get something! I want to join in!

Those going in a team (possibly to resell) will still be able to purchase 3 - 4 of each item each so will still be grabbing all the stock whether there is a limit or not.

That's why I say 'to a point' If there are say, 5 of them and there is a limit of 3 per person then they can only nab 15 of 1 item as opposed to the entire shelf unit they got last time!
  • I posted this on the Shop Till You Drop thread, but for those of you who have never experienced a Boots sale, read on! ;) A few years ago, at the Lakeside branch, some women had apparently told the Manager that they had driven 80 miles, for the sale, and they wanted trollies for their goodies, which Lakeside branch didn't have.

My mate and I were by the food exit of M & S, when we saw 2 Boots staff feeding £1 coins into 8 or 9 trollies, so we asked them what they were doing and they told us they were needed for these women! People were using arms to sweep entire shelves of stock into their trollies and when we asked for one pack of a mans travel set, we were told no, they were needed for a "Charity Auction" ;).

Another friend was at the Basildon branch, and apparently the riots were so bad, the store had to be shut! I was in the Romford Liberty branch this morning, and one of the SAs said they were primed for the sale last Wednesday, but had no idea when it would be.

And according to her, Boots online store was "moving" and that might be why there was no sale stuff online?????? I reckon you could be blindfolded, and pick any date from the calendar for the sale, and we'd all have an equal chance of being right!

    xx

does anyone know what the stock is like in birmingham?
  • Oh my GOODNESS!!!!!!!! ..... I now think I would rather cut my own right ear off than attend a Boots sale! lol

I have never been to one & didn't even know they did a big 75% off sale on a certain day instore till now....

Will be avoiding it in the morning , possibly if at all if I can , might brave it in the afternoon when the greedy masses have gone , let 'em have it I say as my worst nightmare would be getting involved in any kind of ''SCRUM''!!

Mine is a small normal branch so they may have nothing anyway :rotfl:

I have to say last Saturday it seemed to be selling well in my local branch.they had got a fair bit of new stock in and the items that they hadn't had for a while was going well. Lots of sanctuary and toiletry sets including loads hello kitty but other items in shortish supply. They had got champneys back in and that was gone quickly.
