Well I have had a busy 2 weeks and kind of decided not to carry on with this, but here I am back and raring to go!

I figure I have made about £30 for eating work food and having to get lifts due to broken car so I will add this. Also United Utilities are adding £10 credit to my account for an inconvenience (which it wasn't really but I won't argue ;))

I am going to start working Saturdays soon so that will add to my total greatly, as much as it depresses me to think of Sunday as my only day off!

Oh and weight still the same

  • Epic fail on my part. Feeling utterly despondent and crap.

Had to raid what I'd saved to fund a car purchase. I needed a diesel for work as I was putting £400 a month in our petrol car!! So I managed to pick up a diesel workhorse for a grand, leaving us down to £226 saved. But we have our petrol car up for sale -which once sold will replace what was 'borrowed'.

In terms of weight loss, I have lost the grand total of 8lbs since I began. Pathetic effort. I haven't been near the scales for 2 weeks and am scared to get on them in case I have put that back on. So am in denial.

Need to redo my snowball - there has been a definite thaw recently to the point of making no progress whatsoever. So I have pledged this weekend to do my best to sell the car to replenish the savings, weigh myself and stop shoving tasty comestibles in my ever ready gob.

Anewbeginning - you have NOT failed. If you hadn't saved, then you wouldn't have been able to fund the car purchase, so if you hadn't been on this challenge you would have been in a much tougher situation.
As for the weight loss... you may not have lost everything you'd hoped to be now, but 8lbs is over half a stone :D. If you keep going at that rate, you'll be a stone lighter in April than you were at Christmas - again, if you hadn't been on this challenge, you would probably be the same, or maybe even heavier.

So try to see your achievements for what they are, celebrate them, and build on them. And the money you save on fuel every month will count for this challenge - after all, its the challenge savings that allowed you to make the investment that will save you money!

Exactly what GreenBee says - and you still have more than 20% of your savings in addition to what you'll save from the reduced fuel costs. Savings are there for when you need them - much better than a credit card. :)

We have a diesel car and it goes considerably further for the money.

I hope you soon get a buyer and can start to see the benefits of a MS choice. :money::D

  • Added another £1634.00 today from a missold PPI insurance pay out, now safely in my bank account. This takes my total to £2634/£2000, so really pleased with that.:j

My weight loss (or lack of it) however is another story. I only joined this challange for 11 weeks as I go to stay with my Dad in Australia for 6 weeks this week, and in those eleven weeks I have managed to lose all of -0.5lbs.

Many many thanks to Mr. B for started this challange and motivating us all to have a go.:T:T:T I know I personally earned a lot of this money from tips and ideas I read on here, so I'd like to say a big thank you to you all for your help and encouragement on my journey. :T:T:T

Well done everyone on all your achievements, keep up the good work, and I hope to catch up with you all on my return.

Frodo, those savings are fantastic! Sooo well done!

And 0.5 loss is still a loss. :D Hold onto it and in due time find it some friends. :)

Have a lovely time with your Dad and come back to tell us how it went.

Elly, well done for losing 2lbs! Shows what healthy eating can do. :)

As for me, my weight has edged down again now I'm safely away from restaurant meals and hotel breakfasts, and I've saved another £1 by making my own bread yesterday. (Would have been more but the shop has started to charge for fresh yeast. :( ).

Just checked quidco and will have £30 coming on the next payment run (not adding til it arrives but...:T).

Today saved £6 off of greetings cards using points off local stationers loyalty card and saved £2.72 in Tescos on offers taking total savings £591.20. :T

I've missed joining the local Rosemary Conley meeting this week so will see how I get on with motivating myself over the next week (just decided that we will be visiting family in France in the summer so hoping this will give me a kick up the botty to get losing the weight), if things still not happening then I'll join up next Wednesday.

Haven't been to the gym for the last 2 Mondays so haven't weighed. Still baking for the interns so have probably gained, especially with the lack of excercise. I have 4 coupons from sains's for £10 off a £100 shop and have used 2 of them so far. Tesco also sent some vouchers but I have to lug stuff home from there as there's no parking so will probably not use. So another £40 to add.
