Hello everyone,
I've just registered for the forums and would like to join in! I figured that as it's about the half way point of the challenge so I am aiming to save £1000 and lose one stone by the end of April. I'm hoping that having some people to chat to will spur me on to do better as I've put on lots of weight recently - I too was the [STRIKE]victim[/STRIKE] subject of an OFSTED recently. I find my job very stressful and tend to eat lots of biscuits and chocolate when I'm feeling anxious or depressed...
Start weight: 13st 13lb (Height 5ft 6in)
Start cash: £0
Best of luck with your weight loss/ savings goals today; I'm planning on doing some work and then going for a run so I'll see how I get on.0 -
Welcome and best of luck Bellatrix, this is a great bunch of people and I find it helps to be answerable.
(I saw you in the film, though, and I would have said you're a good weight for your height).

Thank you! I've just been for a 20 minute jog and actually managed an hour (just!) so it's started working already...(I saw you in the film, though, and I would have said you're a good weight for your height).
Sadly the only resemblance I bear to Helena Bonham Carter is the wild hair!0 -

Hello and good luck!
I'm up for the 10k steps challenge tomo too. I have a week off work so I'm going to get the buggy out and take the grandbaby for a good walk. I might invest in a pedometer. Anyone know where they're cheap?DEBT LBM-3.10.2011Total debt-6800  09.09.13-zero

Good luck with the walking, no idea where is good for pedometers but hopefully it will be motivational!0 -
Halfway mark gives me savings of £950 and weight loss of 15lb :j This is more than I really thought I would be able to manage, especially on the savings front. I really need to replace my old car but don't want to get into debt so this has really motivated me to carry on saving :rotfl: Hope everyone has a successful week.0

Hi Bella and welcome, wow Rusty you're doing so well!
I'm adding another ebay net haul of £39but still no other lbs to report.
Can someone lend me a dog to walk? :rotfl:

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Last week's damage is now officially a pound increase (I keep doing this don't I?) which means I'm no longer at the lowest I've been since starting this challenge.
I'm relieved it wasn't more: eating out is certainly not good for the waistline.

I have finally put a new battery in my scales, and need to reprogramme them. However, either the walking I have been doing (approx 10 miles/week) or the pneumonia I've had recently have had an effect (it's probably the fact that I've had no chocolate or alcohol for a couple of weeks) so I need to make sure I don't put it all back on now while I'm not out and about much and living on jelly and icecream
So I started at 12st 5 3/4, and last time I weighed I was 12st 1lb. I'm now 11st 11 1/4. Not a huge loss, and certainly not on track (I should be below 11st 5lb by now), but being below 12st is a great psychological barrier to have broken. So I think I'll try to keep off the chocolate AND the booze for the rest of lent and see how it goes.
I do need to tone up, as although my small jeans do up, its not a very good look!0
