I would like to be included in this challenge, though I'm not sure that I will be able to lose 2 stone in the time or save / pay off £2000.
Please could you add me to the list Mr Bloater. My starting weight as of today is 158 lbs so a 2 stone loss would take me to 130 lbs but I would be happy with 140lbs or somewhere near it.
Money wise I am paying of a credit card debt so I am going to focus on this instead.

Not overly sure how I'm going to count any savings I make by NOT spending. Perhaps we will have money left over at the end of the month to at to my savings pot.
In the meantime, I have added £10 (paid to me by my DS2 for things bought for him over Xmas) to my new Thorntons money box we got at Xmas time. Also been putting loose change I have found round the house into it too. I will add the contents up on Monday and give my weekly lb loss (hopefully!) and £ saved totals then. Think this is the way I am going to work.
Also, if I have anything left of the £100 I have taken out for the family to live on over the week, it will go in too. We are looking to see how this month goes, then hopefully we can up the payments on our 0% card next month...so that can be added on as savings once we do it.
Still looking about on what savings can be made on out various insurance deals....think we have one-too-many life insurance plans! Will get DH to chase this one up as it's in his name.
Sorry for my ramblings...just ignore my whitterengs in the corner!
Meanwhile, have a lovely weekend, see you on Moday x

Hi All,
Mixed week here. Down 1lb depsite continuing to munch festive leftover nice things.
Money not so good. The car I bought just five weeks ago was attacked by an airborne chimney pot in this week's storms damaging a door, wing, window and bonnet. My insurance excess is high, so it's messed up the money stuff quite well. I will try to claim against neighbour's buildings insurance but not hopeful. Bah humbug!!
I do at least have a whole £15.13 of my self imposed weekly allowance left, so will count that towards savings,

I notice lots more people wanting to be added... for MrB's sake we probably need to say that a few days ago he ran out of room on his spreadsheet and closed it to newcomers.
Of course that doesn't stop people joining in, it just means they won't have a notch on the official record.
Unless, of course (and with MrB's permission) somebody makes a Spreadsheet mark 2 and is willing to maintain it?Miggy

I got various savings on groceries today but can't count them all because they were things on which I wouldn't have spent full price, e.g. I try not to spend more than £1 on a sandwich so even though I got some £1.80 sandwiches for 27p each (usual story: right place, right time), that's a 73p saving, not a £1.53 saving. There were also a few really nice post-Christmas luxury items which, although very cheap now, are not savings in that I don't buy in that bracket.
Sandwich savings = 671 (they are expensive really, aren't they? Had a very nice one for tea, will have another tomorrow and DD will probably help herself too.
Also used veg that we already had to make soup, thus saving the £3.95 we normally spend on fish and chips. I'm really hoping this will also help the weightloss.
Total savings today: £10.66
P.S. I give in, I have to ask... a) how do you save £800 just like that and b) how do you know what happens if you set fire to a Pringle?
