4 books I sold on greenmetropolis earned £4.66 in total with all the postage taken into consideration. I also found 20p this morning lol straight in the pot.
Going to the gym tomorrow to try and get the weight tally started so will do a weigh in probably on Sunday night/Monday morning

Might need to change my target a touch though. I worked out in order to get 2k in 4months (4 x 29days which gives a few day left over) you would need to save on average £17. 25 a day.
Seeing how I am 2 days into it and only saved £6.36 I am some what behind. But I will keep plodding along and see if I can achieve this.

As for the weight lose that is a bit more doable. 2 stone would require a person to lose 1.75lbs a week but because I am only wanting to lose 1 stone (if I lose 2 stone I think I might end up underweight) that is less than 1lb a week. Cutting 500 calories out of my recommended daily calorie intake along with some exercise will do that no problem.

  • Well, my weigh in this morning resulted in a 1lb loss, so current weight now 11 stone 3lbs. Not too bad considering the large buffet New Year's Eve and a huge meal New Year's Day! Hoping for more weight off this week...

Money wise I am still waiting for quotes on the repairs which need doing- original contractors apparently went buts and didn't inform the letting agents! Until I have the figures I have no idea what I could save in Jan (if anything!)
  • Oh no! I went ahead and opened before I had chance to read on here. Thinking I will keep my account also and come up with a plan to try and avoid using this new account for anything other than bills!

Will hopefully mean I can put £200 towards this challenge tho - in 14 weeks :p

Firesidemaid - my overdraft is currently £2250 which I have told Santander - like you said no plans to use all that but hopefully they will match! I checked the MSE guide and it looks as if arranged overdraft will have no charges at all for the first 12 months which is what made me make the decision. Time will tell if it was the right one!

Just realised I went cinema last night - student discount and bringing a drink from home, I reckon I saved myself £5 - will add to my sig! Yeay I'm off the starting blocks!

This is right definetly no charges for the overdraft in the first 12 months, unless you g over overdraft limit, but not worth the hassle you will have. As soon as my 12 months is up in March, when I no longer qualify for free overdraft, I will transfer everything back to my old account and close account with Santander.

Well I've managed a 4lb weight loss. Semi followed diet and had New Year and a couple of meals out in the period so not too bad.

    Thanks again for keeping score.

  • £27 refund cheque from Swinton for our car insurance in the post today. Unexpected. And very welcome. So money saved up to £352 today. Woo Hoo!!
  • Walked 12½ miles today :) (Should have been 10 but I took a wrong turning :o)

Had a sandwich for lunch from Tesco so less than half my usual lunchtime calories too :T

No extra cash earned today though as day off - back tomorrow with a massive 12 hours OT :j

you could always get the cheap roadside AA cover thru Quidco, which ends up at about £7 or similar.

how much is your insurance quote without the roadside cover? Autoaid (recommended on here by Martin) is less than £40 a year for full cover.

Thanks firesidemaid, I'll check this out. It looks even cheaper than the quotes I found :j
