So sorry for your loss, please just remember the good times you had with your dad and try not to get too upset about things that happened (not that they shouldn't be held to account), remember he is now at peace.
Treat other's how you like to be treated.

I'm so sorry for your loss Merlin. Words seem so inadequate. Your dad is at peace now. xx

Please make a formal complaint about the way your dear dad was treated. That is appalling. The more people in the caring profession that know that treating the dying without respect and dignity can't be tolerated, the better. It's common sense for most people! Do it for your dad.

How awful for you, I am sorry for your loss.

I lost my mum in May she was in hospital for a while and whilst she did get some help it was not enough. As I am sure you agree hospital is not the best place for people with terminal cancer. My mum as in for a week and then went to a hospice where she was cared for with compassion/respect and open to visits at any time and mean any time.

I wouldn't be happy if this was my mum. I hope the hospital buck there ideas up so it doesn't happen again.

I support my local hospice and help when I can so others can get same treatment

My Dad died of cancer at 1.30 yesterday. Me and my sister was with him.
    The hospital was absolutely appaling.
My sister went out to tell them he'd died and not one person came in to see us. We left at 4, with no acknoledgement from any member of staff and his body was still on the ward.
    I feel absolutely distrauht.
The day before he was screaming in agony and they kept forgetting to give hime the morphine unless we told them.

Really sorry to hear this. My sincere condolences.

I won't write a description of what I encountered in the hospital when my own father died but suffice to say I too was appalled by the simple lack of respect shown to us by the hospital staff. I strongly urge you to write a complaint.

Watching a loved one suffer and pass away is as traumatic as anything I have encountered in my life but this is exacerbated by professionals who fail to act as such.

I'm so sorry for your loss and can understand your anger at how appaulingly he was treated. My own grandad was left to go into kidney failure due to his horrible and useless doctor and i remember seeing him in so much pain :( It's heartbreaking to see those you love in pain. Thinking of you xx

I'm so sorry merlin, my thoughts are with you and your family. xx

We had terrible experiences when my mother-in-law and grandfather died, there is just not enough money or nurses... having said that though sometimes it just came down to basic manners. You must lodge a complaint, if you don't complain nothing will change.

    Happy moneysaving all.
