Good Evening ladies and a big warm welcome to Primula (and any other newbies I may have missed).
There are so many of us now I sometimes find it difficult to keep up so please do not be offended if I do not mention you all.
Joan - don't worry about slipping a little - we all do. I have now bought myself a page a day diary - just like I had when I was "Corporate Woman" - it really does help me to stay focussed.
I also have a reporter's notebook with my to do lists, reminders, ideas and odds and ends. Rather than have a to do list for each day I've done a list of things I need/want to achieve in January. I find this is working well for me at the moment and is less stressful than set tasks each day. Obviously I also break this down into simple daily tasks, phone calls to make, letters to write, trips to the bank etc.
My big problem this month is that many of the items on the list I simply didn't want to to do - especially the dreaded SS paperwork.
Like a good girl I put the SS at the top of my list and I spent some time each day last week ploughing my way through it. I'm over the worst now. Some of it will spill over in February but that is because I have to wait for final invoices etc before I can finish it all.
Hopefully by the time we get to February most of the nasty boring stuff will be done and then I can get down to stuff I actually want to do.
One of my resolutions this year was less time wasting with the TV and Internet. So far I've managed to stick to this and I've freed up small oceans of time. I certainly don't miss watching rubbish TV.:rotfl:
RE the horses. My sister is desperate to get me riding again. I'm a bit nervous - I really need to protect my back. In fact that's what started the whole thing off - I took a fall when I was about 13 and that's what kickstarted my back problems.
Rummer - Definitely agree with the walking tall and looking around, so no more shuffling along looking at our feet ladies. Walk tall and proud. Sit up straight too.;)
Right back to my internet surfing. :rotfl: Actually it does have a purpose. I am about to refine my search for art posters etc for my house revamp. I had a good look last night, did a list of possibles and am now going back to double check them all and then work out my order.
I have dug out a load of frames that I had and measured them. I'm trying to make sure that as far as possible I choose artworks to fit my existing frames so that I don't spend too much. Just trying to be a bit frugal and canny.:rotfl:
Fabwise - Today I gave myself a face mask, trimmed my nails and a good slathering.
Hope you all having a fab weekend.
G'night X0 -
I put some gradual tanner on last night, haven't done that for a long time! Also painted my nails and had a haircut on friday so I feel a little better. I'm going to try to keep dome sort of control over my hair and nails.0

You've just reminded me - I have two bottles of the Dove building up a tan stuff - not sure what its called - perhaps I'll start to do this too, not that much of me is exposed for anyone to see in this weather!
Couldn't sleep last night - kept thinking about work, I'm a science teacher and the new GCSEs have just started for some students and a lot of schools have reported very poor results, our kids aren't doing them until March and I'm desperately trying to think of ways to help apathetic 15 year olds to do better. Not easy! My efforts will no doubt go unappreciated too by the majority! At least I'm trying!
On the fabbing front, I think I'll pop back to Mr T's today to pick up a top I saw yesterday, can always take it back if its not "me". May have quick look in Matalan while I'm there for a top for work. Will report back later if I see anything fabulous!
I did forget to take my makeup off last night (only mascara and eye liner) but did feel guilty about it this morning - just thinking about all of my fellow fabbers tutting at me!
As soon as its light I'll take th dogs to the park for a bit of fresh air and exercise then its school work all day for me.
Just as an aside, has anyone seen "Stella" on Sky one? I recorded it and watched it yesterday -its a about a normal Welsh 40 something (no its not me!) struggling to cope with kids, having no partner and a bonkers best friend. Now she's in dire need of a bit of fabbing - I have a feeling that's whats going to happen in future episodes - it'll be interesting to see how she turns out. It is written by and stars Ruth Jones, so at least she's a normal woman - not a hollywood glamour puss!
Oh and finally I've thought of someone I'd like to look like - Catherine Zeta Jones - she's two years older than me, Welsh like me, dark haired like me and about 2 stone lighterand a multi millionaire:rotfl:. But she does the classic thing when not in ball gowns. If only........

I don't not feel fab! Got a manky eye problem yesterday (gross
) & today they are both swollen, I can hardly see out of one of them  It is proper gross & & I look like I 've done 10 rounds in the ring while suffering from conjunctivitis :rotfl: I'm not feeling too sorry for myself, hopefully this will make a couple of people chuckle (my OH has certainly found it funny!). Don't think I'll be leaving the house today though & make up is a definate no no until this is better! Hopefully spend the day lounging around (will go for my walk later though, its becoming a pretty much daily habit & I love it now!) & maybe catching up with small jobs....
Hopefully OH can look after the kids by himself & clean the bathrooms....1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100

After a few ‘off’ days this week I made the effort last night and had an evening of ‘fabbing’ and I’m feeling even better because I’ve just put the Hoover around the house...as per my new planner and when the sun melts a bit more of this frost I’m off down the allotment.

This made me smile, sorry Welshwoofer, but it reminded me of the things I don’t have to do these days. Keep up the great work,I used to teach science and the students may look apathetic but I used to find they were more scared than anything else. I miss the students and staff but I don’t envy you yet another change in the exams. I decided to retire early when the school decided to change exam boards only twelve months after rewriting the last scheme...madness.
Welcome to Primula and thank you LL for your kind words. Sorry to hear about your eye problem liz-paul hope it gets better quickly. Thnks for the reminder FannyAdams, I think I've got a bottle lurking in the bottom of my wardrobe I may go searching for it later.
Enjoy your day everyone.Alice came to a fork in the road. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

My fabbing had been practically none existent for most of the week
was hoping to get back on track after essay was handed in but I've been so tired it's just been early nights! I've been making sure I take all my make up every night but the additions of cleansing and toning etc have not happened.
It's my weekend in work (do alternate weekends) so no time to do anything. I'm going to write a list of fab things to do for the week ahead!
Well done to everyone who's lost weight and are on form
With their fabbing!

Morning All. Just back from a lovely walk at our local country park. It is a beautiful frosty morning with clear blue skies here today - perfect walking weather. I am heading off now to have my shower and get ready for the afternoon. I am babysitting my 3 year old niece.
Rummer I know exactly what you mean - all this fabbing really does make you feel better about yourself and I too feel like I am walking taller now too. When I have days that I don't bother or just wear my old trackies and fleece I do feel like I am less worthy somehow.
Happy Fabbing folks.

I know, bonkers isn't it!
We may well change the way we've entered the kids for the exams mid year - as KS4 coordinator I feel like the responsibility is all mine, even though there's a head of dept above me. Oh well, we'll just have to do our best.:o
On a more positive note, I've just been shopping (well, Tescos and Matalan) and have found BARGAINS!!! I take it all back about hating sales.:p
In Tesco, I bought a teal top (haven't tried it on yet but looks ok, different colour for me too) and a bargain pair of jeans reduced to £7! They're "smart" jeans, dark blue/indigo colour, wide legged with a bit of plait detail at the pocket. I tried them on and the 12 fitted well and the length with high heeled boots is just right.
Then in Matalan, I found a navy/midnight blue scoop neck top with white fabric flowers sewn around the neck (sounds horrible but is nice, honest!), a matching blue beady necklace and bracelet and a blue and white spotty scarf (not to go with this) - took it all to the till and the grand total was £7.70! The reductions had gone done even further than marked :j.
The whole trip cost me less than £25 for jeans, 2 tops, some jewellery and a scarf!
I made a real effort to look for colour and smarter things than I'd normally buy (I live in suits for work so out of work I tend to be in jeans and Tshirts/jumpers).
The best thing was when in the changing rooms I wasn't horrified by what I saw - just making the effort to do hair and make up and wear something half decent made me feel better and look better in the yukky mirrors they have - didn't even look as flabby as I think I look normally.
Right, school work beckons.......
PS hope your eyes get better soon liz-paul0 -
Morning! No real fabbing for me today but I am planning on spending the day in the garden which will be a real treat for me as I love it and it makes me feel so relaxed!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

They sound good finds - Welshie!
I ordered a few things last night in bright purple as I stumbled across them on M+S = a pair of size 10 bright magenta jeggings, same colour top (not to wear together!) to wear with grey and dark indigo jeggings etc and a white short sleeve thin jumper to wear with the purple jeggings
I hope they fit! I'm into colour at the moment and leaving black behind for good on the top half. I'm loving the colour and if everything fits it will be a mix of purple and grey and indigo and purple and white. Also loving the bright oranges too
Fabwise today - I've fabbed the house up, made 2 lots of soup for lunches over the next 2 weeks. Just about to have an hour on my assignment then zoom through the ironing before going on a nice long walk with the dog. Then its onto fabbing for me with a facemask and exfoliate etc and a lot of moisturiser to counteract this cold weatherfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550
