Thanks for all the good wishes!
Well it was weigh inday today and I am 2lbs heavier now after the festive period. It should come back off again now I'm more or less back on track with the diet plan. Took my measurements and bizarrely lost half an inch from my waist and my chest! So you win some you lose some!
Took the dog on his medium sized walk today for 45mins in the dreadful weather and should be back out running again tomorrow and so on
I love the idea of a Fashion Friday - this Friday is a serious study day to spend all day on the assignment so I won't be very fab this week but I do sometimes wear something different on a Friday anyway and I'll do this when I'm back at workfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Hello all
Fashion Friday sounds a good idea I work in a school as well doing admin and wear a lot of black. (It's slimming!) I have a lovely orange pashmina that I don't wear often enough so I will wear it on Friday.
I'm off to the gym tonight and after that I will re-do my nails - how often does everyone else's nail varnish last? Even with a top coat on they still seem messy after one day.

Anyone tried anything else? Or know how to keep ordinary varnish looking decent?0 -

Mine can last almost a week if every couple of days i put a layer of clear varnish over the top. Or you could just put another thin layer of the original colour over the top. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Re nail varnish: I find using a base coat is more effective than using a top coat. I also find if I use base coat, 2 coats of colour and a top coat it is too think and never dries. And all the usual things like wearing washing up gloves etc... If I do my nails 'properly' then I get 2-3 days max out of them. A cheating kind of way to make it last longer is to put on one coat of something quite subtle. I find it looks more 'done' than no nail polish but because it is subtle the chips don't notice so much.
So far this week I've kept up with showering & moisturising at least once a day, make up on most days, hair done (a bit) every day, make up off & creams on at night, tooth whitening done, nails done, exercising every day & taken some care over my clothes every day.
Thanks everyone for the encouragement and ideas for maknig myself look & feel better. Really appreciate having a bit of support so I don't feel like a vain, wannabe, bimbo1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100

I love the idea of Fashion Friday! They is definately stuff in my wardrobe that should see the light of day more often!
I got fed up with trying to stuff my clothes into my drawers and had decided to have a clear out and luckily when I got home from work there was a heart foundation bag waiting to be filled!
So, that is now stuffed full of sad, tired clothes ready to leave my house! I even threw in a few bags and sheets too! Once you start this clearing out lark it's easy to get carried away!
I was going to paint my nails but didn't get round to it. Mind you, like so many, I can't keep nail polish looking good for more than a few days, however I apply it! I suupose I just need to get better at doing it more often!
I was talking to a friend today about the difficulty some people have getting the right benefits to help them through the hard times - good luck to anyone who is fighting the battle of the benefit balance!0 -
My friend wears false nails and her own underneath are just grim, all soft and split but she can't bear to show them so keeps on with the falsies and her own nails just never get a chance to recover.
My nails are like that, I hate them and hide them under false nails, do take them off every 4 days or so as never last longer and will leave them off if not going out otherwise false nails go back on, my mum was the same but she was braver than me and just painted them and no one ever noticed but me I know how bad they are and hide them so of course bringing attention to them, did that for years before there were decent false nails and of course people would end up looking at my nails because of my actions, I look at people with beautiful long nails and sigh.......Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
