No time to post properly and acknowledge everyone I'm afraid...and there I was thinking today would be quiet and I could just catch up and tidy up!

we decided in my dept to all wear red today- only 3 of us are in and we've been in a festive mood all day- helped along with a little taster of HM sloe/damson gin from my colleague:D ((HIC!)) am feeling quite smart in my black flippy skirt and red cardi, esp with my nice red beads...although the worst storm has just started- howling winds and it's black out there, the rain is hammering at my window...I KNEW I should have worn boots:mad:

Right must go a just finish up my tidying of accounts but in case I can't get on for a few days....

Merry Christmas!!! & Happy New Year!!!:xmassign::xmastree::xmassmile:rudolf::santa2::snow_laug

Also well done elfen! I only have another 3lbs to go and i'm there - hoping for the end of jan at the latest to get there. Then its another target reassessment time, is that low enough or do i want to drop down a bit lower again?

    Hi,
Can I join in too pleeeease?
Its come at exactly the right time - yesterday was my 40th birthday:eek:, my decree nisi arrived in the post and I looked at myself in the changing room mirror in M&S today and was NOT happy!

I've lost about a stone and a half this year, then I separated from my ex-husband and did a bit of secret comfort eating (pretending to everyone else that I was fine) and I haven't weighed but it feels like at least half a stone has crept back on:(.

    I need taking in hand!

I have tried a bit this week - for my birthday I dyed my roots, did my nails and dressed up a bit with a full face of makeup but I still felt a bit bleurrgghh if you know what I mean?
Everyone says that I look younger than my age (a good thing!) but I don't feel it. Mid life crisis and all that!

Today has been a getting ready for Xmas day, shopping, cleaning, tidying etc so not exactly glamorous but I will try harder tomorrow, promise!

My main focusses to be fabulous are...
    1. Do something to my hair - did the classic break up thing and got it cut a lot shorter and now don't like it. I always have been grey for years and have to dye my roots every 3-4 weeks - a right pain.
    2. Lose 10 lbs - essential -feel and look flabby
    3. Take my make up off every day (hardly ever do this:o) and use night cream
    4. Get a light tan - I look very pale and cellulitey (changing room mirrors - grrr!) and I have olive skin so feel a bit jaundiced looking (even though I know I'm not!)
    5. Start doing some exercise other than dogwalking (I do about an hour every day but hardly taxing or fat burning)
    6. Think about the clothes I wear and buy - think I always look the same so need a Gok to sort me out
The losing weight thing will start after Xmas now but I can start with the small things now....

Sorry for the giant ramble on - I think this has been pent up for a while!
  • Good Evening Ladies & A Very Warm Welcome to all Newbies.

Having problems with my computer so will be brief.

Have just marzipanned the Chris cake and still need to finish fabbing the house, a few presents to wrap.

    Busy, busy, busy.

    Just a timely reminder ...

Now just because there are 12 Days of Christmas doesn't mean we have to stuff our faces each and every one of those 12 days.:rotfl:

A rest in between is good for the digestion and the waistline.

Just because we've opened a box of choccies doesn't mean we have to eat them all in one go. Ditto the Baileys, Egg Nog whatever.:rotfl:

Hope you all have a lovely time, "talk" to you again in a few days.

    Bye for now X

  • To try to stick to my guns and join in last night I...
    1. Used a rich hand cream before bed (hardly ever do this)
    2. Took make up off and used night cream and eye cream
    3. Put special cream on little patch of psoriasis (not a good look!)
Just little things that I hope will become habit forming if I do them often enough.

And today I will have a sort out of my make up bag, do a face scrub, wash and blow dry hair properly and do face and walk the dog a bit more briskly than usual to try to avert the mince pie damage!
  • I moisturised again last night using my coconut oil, even took my make up off for a change.
Back aching due to some yoga stretches I did last night and because of sleeping in DDs bed from 4am

So painkillers to take the edge off, water and breakfast to drink (lie in tl 8am this morning :T) and then need to get cracking on with my day.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy 2012.
