Hi all and Happy New Year!
Have been catching up with the past posts - too many to comment on but LL glad OH's move has been sorted, I know you wanted to hang on a little longer but if it was getting too much for you in a few weeks then it just shows that you've done the right thing. I'm loving your plans for the future (though don't overdo it with the diy until your back's had a chance to recover missus!)
Lizzie - what a great idea to think about what we have done over the last year, it can be easy to be really negative and think about what we haven't managed. In the last year, mainly thanks to this thread I have:
lost about a stone and a half
started using more beauty products
started overhauling wardrobe - wear more colour, only buy items now that I love and that suit me, use accessories much more
trying different colours and styles in make up
started writing book (had been putting off for a long time as didn't feel confident enough - just goes to show that feeling a bit more confident about the way you look does spread out into other areas of your life).
Probably more if I sat down and thought about it properly. Just wanted to say as well Lizzie that you sound so much brighter and more positive then a few months ago, am sure this will be your yearAlso I used to run my own business a few years ago so might be able to help with questions - or there are benefits and small business boards on here that might be helpful.
Maman - no jumping in fountains I'm afraid, sorry to disappoint :rotfl:Was rather glad I stayed in as the weather looked nasty - not a good night to be on the street. In fact I was so lazy that at midnight I heard the fireworks going off and thought whether I should go outside and have a look (can see them from the end of the road) and then I switched the channel and they were on tv so watched them there instead!
Regarding the New Year plans - still not got them completely sorted.
Fabbing
lose more weight
eat healthier
get back on the exercise (have been rather lax lately)
remember to do facial routine every day
continue to work on wardrobe/accessories
try to wear make up every day
General
finish book and send it off (very scary!)
find more ways to make money
be able to get some debts paid off
Obviously the 'make more money' is still being worked onIdeally I would like to be able to leave my current job (which I hate!) and be able to do something where I can work from home and for myself. I would love that to be the writing but I'm well aware it's so competitive so I better not rely on that and need to have some back ups.

What plans we all have for this year! There's so much support here that I feel we can really achieve a lot
I've decided to revise my "resolutions" for this year. I think I need to aim for baby steps as I've tried to do it all before and failed after a short while
So this month's aim is to eat at least 3 pieces of fruit a day and move around more! Once I've got those as routine, I'll add something else
I have de-forested the legs this morning and put some make up and perfume on, so even tidying the house felt a bit more fab
I like the idea of having a personal shopper too. Something for the list later in the year I think!0 -
just a quick question
LL-Start a couple of little sideline businesses - beauty therapy & bric-a-brac dealing
As you know I 'm wanting to start a business but I've got so many questions - not least about how it affects benefits, just wondered if you know where I can get advise on this stuff. It may not be possible yet but it is one of my longer term aims -really don't want to be on benefits for ever. x
lizzie - just speak to an adviser in the jobcentre if you're on benefit as there is help available in most areas - if its JSA ask about NEA (new enterprise allowance) and look at starting p/t while on benefits until you can fully support yourself - but def speak to the Jobcentre ( no matter what some people say!!!)skintbint x

Not doing too well on the fab front today
Been too busy de cluttering and tidying to do any fabbing!

todays fabbing will involve a nice long bath with the fitness mags i bought from tesco yesterday. i'm trying to come up with a workout plan i can get my teeth into and I'm hoping they'll give me ideas/tips/motivation.
Also just seen this posted on the Bobbi Brown Facebook page and thought i'd share: "Bobbi’s philosophy is to achieve and maintain balance, cultivate a positive outlook, and love yourself the way you are."
I think its a rather excellent thing to aim for in 20120 -
I am back and raring to go now! I didn't really enjoy Christmas and I am so glad it has been and gone. OH's Mum came to stay and I had an argument with OH as he wanted her to stay from Christmas Eve to New Years Day and had not even asked me if this was ok. I was happy for her to stay a few days, but she only lives about 20 miles away and I wanted the house back by about the middle of the week...
Soooo lots of tension in household and his Mum volunteered to go home on Friday, probably because she was fed up of being in the middle of it all. I also upset her by telling her straight that she needed to exercise to lose weight (she told my Mum I had upset her!) So, I ended the week feeling completely selfish and horrible about myself for not wanting her to stay for the whole week.
Hello to all the new faces. I saw that a few people on the thread suffer from depression - me too, only fairly recently diagnosed. It sure is a struggle some days to get past the negative thoughts and believe I'm worth something.
It's my sister's wedding in two weeks and I bought this bargain dress from Debenhams in the sale yesterday. I like it, but the v-neck is too low, so I was wondering whether I could get a v-neck vest top to go underneath that would look ok. I assume you should wear a 'plunge' bra with a neckline like that, but I find they don't give enough support. I still need to get a shrug, tights, shoes and accessories to go with the dress. If anyone has any suggestions on what would look good with the dress, they would be much appreciated. I am looking out for some small heels, as I've never been able to wear killer heels.
The link for the Day Zero Project that lessonlearned mentioned is here. I am almost half way through my 1001 days, so need to get a wriggle on this year as I have only completed 16 out of 101 items on my list so far.
I am going out for a walk with my Mum soon so I will be back with my new year resolutions later.
Check out this Youtube video if you need some motivation to exercise. Edit - I have just realised that someone posted this video on the last thread and I have forgotten who, sorry! It may be useful for those who have recently joined.0 -

You may not have done any beauty fabbing (although I would recommend some pampering later) but decluttering does count. It's about making yourself feel better and that's definitely part of it.
It's decided to tip down with rain hereso no walk unless it clears up a bit.
Sezza, I was thinking about the fruit and veg aim. I have to eat lots as it's part of the Slimming World plan but I'm not a big fan of fruit. I think I'm just lazy. I find it easier to eat loads of vegetables. What about making soup with loads of veg in, like minestrone or something? That would make an ideal lunch for home or work.0 -
Callisto that dress is gorgeous! I'd love that myself but they've sold out of my size...hm.Savings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0

Afternoon all, happy new year and hope 2012 is kind to everyone.
I have just taken down all the xmas decs, so its all over for us. Had to do this today to stop my excuse for eating all the rubbish that is left, hubby can take it to work with him on Tuesday.
Well I'm gonna be 40 in 26 days time eeekkkk!!!! so my main new years resolution is to lose as much weight as I can, I have spent most of my 30's overweight, I will NOT spend my 40's like it.
Other resolutions are
Exercise more
Take time out for myself without feeling guilty
Declutter the house
Save as much money as possible, we are off to Florida in october with my brother and his family for a holiday of a lifetime ( well for us anyway my brother has been 3 times already, this will be our first and only time)
Run a 5K race for life (ran it once before in 32 mins, walked it 3 other times)
There are probably a few more things I would like to change but I think that will do for now or I will get overwhelmed.
Take care xChiari Brain Malformation - decompression survivor

Just checkin' in - I've done 20 mins of Wii Fit today, and will be doing another 15 mins shortly, so that's my Fabbing for today.:D I'm taking it very steady til this wretched pain in my shoulders subsides; I've had 3 doses of Oramorph today already, and am resisting taking another just yet.;)
We also took down the Yule decs and put them away, so I have my lounge back now, ready for when it appears on this week's Flylady cleaning list!:DHow strange LW, that you can be so chatty and sociable on here. I know we moan that the internet can be a huge timewaster but I think it's a marvellous thing for loads of other reasons. Even though I do have friends and family in RL, I value my 'virtual' friends for a different reason.
Just thought I'd send you this link

not that I want to do Mr LW out of a job!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Yes, I can chat OK on a forum like this (as long as it's a friendly thread;) - as has been observed, there are some pretty awful people on some of the boards, and I stay clear of those); thing is, I can edit and re-edit what I want to say before posting, so that it reads as I want - if I'm talking to someone, I often blurt out something, and don't express what I mean very well. For that reason, I don't do Instant Messaging. Or telephones.:eek::eek:
Also, there's a degree of anonymity, in that everyone just knows me by my screen name, which I find more comfortable than if I had to use my RL name.
Other than that, well, put simply, I don't like me, so I don't expect anyone else to like me. *shruggy-man smilie*WelshWoofer wrote: »Yes, that's my pooch when he was a puppy - he's now nearly 8 and a podgy grump but still lovely! If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
