have decided to start hillwalking again - well when i say again i did a 5 day walk a couple of years ago for charity wild camping some nights- 64 miles - jeez it was tough as it was over moors and heather but i felt great(?) while doing it (sore, tired, thinking why?) and really think all the fresh air gave me a boost - so am going to try and go at least once a month on a long 10-15 mile hike and hopefully in the summer do a bit of wild camping again, peace & quiet and beautiful scenery out of a stuffy, dirty office with no proper light so have just ordered a rucksak and hiking trousers (lovely!)

LL - will get some flavoured tea today and even if i just swap 2 or 3 coffees a day to begin with hopefully will see a difference

I have dyed my hair this morning after the longer dog walk and then a run to blow away the wine cobwebs from consuming too much last night.

Feel better now and have drunk a lot of water this morning, a berrocca, a coke zero and so on and the fresh air certainly made me feel a lot better!

Will take the dog on another long walk this afternoon to take advantage of being off work and also planning a longer run tomorrow if I can avoid the worst of the weather

    Happy New Year everyone

OK - Now I'll show you mine - Maman stop sniggering at the back.

Well as you know OH has now gone into permanent care so I think that for me my life now requires a major rethink.

I do not know how long OH has left to live and I do not know how much longer he will remain in possession of his full mental faculties. Unfortunately there do appear to be a few early symptoms of dementia.

So for me the immediate to mid-term future is rather vague at the moment.

So I have decided to view this year as one of Transition. I will need to be flexible and keep things fairly fluid - until I see how things pan out.

I looked at that website about the Ground Zero project. I can thoroughly recommend that.

The premise is 101 things to do in 1001 days. Only 101 :rotfl:

I can think of thousands of things I want to do - my mind is always buzzing with ideas. However, I thought the idea of working towards some of those long term goals i.e. (1001 day bit) was a really good one.

So - some of my goals this year are short term i.e. things I can achieve in one year and some are longer term.

They will take longer to bring to fruition but, instead of being all woolly and vague saying "One day I would like to do x y or z" I will actually draw up a plan of action and start working on that plan this year.

After all I am 60 now and time is now getting in short supply ...........

I stumbled across this recently - courtesy of Joan Collins - now there's an inspiration on how to do Grown Up Glamour.

She said that life is like a three act play. And just like a play, the third and final act is always the best.

So as I enter my Third Act - I have decided it's time to really start living again. Time for some fun.

Someone - sorry can't remember who suggested the idea of breaking down goals in one month mini goals - I think that is a fantastic idea so I will be pinching that one too.

Sorry need to break this up - it is a bit long and waffly this morning but as usual I've got lots to say. Such a chatterbox - maybe I should resolve to "talk" less.:rotfl:

    Happy New Year everyone...:hello:
Hope everyone had a good time, whatever you were doing.

I had my nails done yesterday ready for starting my new job on Tuesday so seeing this as lots of new starts - fabbing, 2012 and new job!!

    My goals/resolutions
    1. drink more water - plan to have a decent-sized bottle on my new desk :D
    2. drink less alcohol - at least 2 alcohol-free days (I have a drink EVERY night at the mo :o)
    3. make Wednesday night a bath and pampering night (my sons go to my parents on Wednesday to give me some help with the football training regime DS2 has - he's under 14 keeper for a league 1 side and trains Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday evenings, Saturday mornings and plays Sunday mornings. Training is a 70 mile round trip and home games are 80 mile trips - thank God for their help - I get none from his father but that's another story)
    4. eat more healthily
    5. tackle the cellulite on my thighs - hopefully 1, 2 and 4 above should start to help
    6. try to fix some exercising included - somewhere!!!
Thanks for all the hints and tips from everyone - love reading them all

For those wanting to know what suits them clothes wise I can't recommend the Personal Shopper Service at Debenhams that I went to.

There was no pressure to buy anything but she brought clothes that I would have walked by without giving them a second glance - and I now have a better idea of what to look for when I am shopping

I have just hauled out my favourite exercise DVDs and put them right next to the TV. If only watching them was all you had to do to shrink in size :rotfl:
