    Happy New Year xxx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

happy new year all you lovelies (or soon to be!) now is the real start for me - was highlighting my hair at 10pm last night as i reallllllllllly wanted to start the new year the way i intend to carry on! hubby thought i'd lost the plot as we had visitors due at 11 for bringing in the bells but i had been planning to do it all week so the bells werent going to beat me! today i plan on drinking lots of water to counteract the couple of drinks i had last night - am really bad as i never drink water only coffee (upto 12 cups a day ouch!)- couldnt actually tell you the last time had a glass or bottle of water!

    have a great day!

Morning all - and a happy new year ladies (I presume we are all ladies?)

Just about to walk the dog and bop (how old do I sound!) along to the ipod. Have had a sneaky weigh this morning (wanted to last until a full week of diet but couldn't resist) and it appears that I have lost 3lbs:j. I definitely feel flatter and less bloated so I'm inclined to believe it. Hurrah!

The only fabbing on the agenda for today is
    1. Sticking to diet
    2. Sticking to new skin care - I think I look a bit brighter (skin not me!)
    3. Sorting out bikini area:eek:
    4. Getting at least an hours walking in
I have loads of schoolwork to do so will be sat down for much of the day - need to make sure that I move every couple of hours and that I work upstairs in the "office" - further from the fridge!
  • Hi Ladies, can I join you please? I feel the need for some serious fabbing as I have let things slip in the last few months.

    My goals are:

    1. Lose weight. Need to lose a stone (could be more when I find out what damage Christmas has inflicted!). Have some Christmas leftovers to finish so aim to start this by the end of the week.
    2. Eat more healthily as I am rubbish at eating fruit and veg and that has to change.
    3. Exercise - planning a combination of exercise dvds, yoga and walking
    4. Make up - I always wear makeup when I go out but it's usually a case of slapping a bit on before I rush out of the door. I want to learn how to apply makeup properly and experiment a bit more. Treated myself to some eyeshadows with my Boots advantage points before Christmas so that's a start. Found the links on here for Lisa Eldridge and Bobbi Brown really helpful so will be giving them a good look.
    5. Clothes - I have an idea in my head of what style I would like but can't seem to achieve it on myself! Hopefully by spring I will have lost a bit of weight and will have a revamp of my wardrobe.

I wish everyone a happy and health 2012 and look forward to getting to know you all.

WelshWoofer well done on your weight loss - that's a fantastic achievement over the Christmas period. BTW is that your dog in the picture? he/she looks such a cutie!

Skint - ouch that is really far too much - try and cut down asap. That much really isn't good for you. Do it gently over a period of several weeks.

When I was Corporate Woman I was just like you - coffee was my fuel. Like you about 10 to 12 cups a day. Real coffee too, which has twice the amount of caffeine that instant, also a half a dozen cups of tea.

I realised I was addicted so went "Cold Turkey" by switching to caffeine free. After 2 days OH begged me to start drinking the real stuff again. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So I did and just reduced slowly. I now have 3 or 4 a day and 1 or 2 of tea. Herbal teas, fruit juices, smoothies and of course just good old plain water.
  • Hi everyone Happy New Year - bad nights sleep & kids being demanding but my hair still looks nice from yesterdays blowdry so got a bit of a spring in my step. Rummer I do the same thing - buy things that are cheap & "will do" as I'm only going to be cleaning/doing stuff with kids

    • Wear clothes I want to wear not just ones in the sale that will do
Lamewolf - Hugs to you - My mum is Agrophobic - thankfully she is better now but I can relate to you - also when I am having a bad day with my depression the last thing I want to do is step outside the door. I felt the same about having a stranger in my house but I have a volunteer from Homestart who I was referred to. She comes about once a fortnight & it just gives me someone to talk to or give me a break by playing with my kids whilst I get on with housework. She is like an extra Granny to my boys & a great support. I also find things difficult to cope with as my depression makes me so so tired & my OH works shifts - I get fed-up when all my friends are spending time with their family at weekends & I am coping on my own.

My Mum got me some Touche Eclat for Christmas which I am over the moon with an essential if you've had a bad nights sleep :-)

1.) Buy clothes that I actually really like
    2.) Drink more water & get 5 a day
    3.) Cleanse, tone, moisturise x2
4.) Not feel guilty about doing something for myself
5.) With shifts & a 2 & 4 yr old & not much money time together as a coupe is scarce so I'm going to try & reinstate date night at least once a fortnight.A nice meal, candles & no TV!

    Here's a to a wonderfully fab 2012! :j
I shall probably add more as I go along!

I took my makeup off before going to bed last night (ok at 5am this morning :rotfl:) so this thread is obviously having a positive effect on me already. Also been drinking water since I got up so I am starting as I mean to go on :D

Well done on the weight loss WW - That is some achievement given that you choose the most difficult week in the entire calendar. Or are you just a glutton for punishment. Your dog is lovely.
