    Hi all.

Back from visiting family last night so will have to catch up on the thread in a bit - has been storming along it seems and nice to see so many new people and everyone seeming so motivated :)
Family visit was lovely, really nice to see my parents and brother. Caught up with a few friends down there as well, though have to admit was a little disappointed that asked quite a few people to meet up and most didn't even bother replying. I do wonder sometimes with people back down there that if I didn't constantly make an effort whether I would ever see them again, as I doubt they would bother themselves. I keep thinking I just shouldn't bother with them if that's how they feel but then I wonder if I would be cutting off my nose to spite my face, and whether I would regret not seeing them again. Anyway, bit negative there - it was lovely to see the people who could be bothered :)

I have pulled a muscle in my shoulder though, which is rather painful and a little annoying. Hopefully it will clear up tomorrow as I was hoping to start back on the exercise routine. Anyway since that's rather painful and OH has a bit of a cold I don't think we're going to bother going out tonight, might just have a few drinks in the house. I'm still working on the plan for next year - I know I want some big changes to happen so need to figure out what's going to be the best way to move forward with them.

Hope everyone has a lovely night tonight and wishing you all a Happy New Year x

How strange LW, that you can be so chatty and sociable on here. I know we moan that the internet can be a huge timewaster but I think it's a marvellous thing for loads of other reasons. Even though I do have friends and family in RL, I value my 'virtual' friends for a different reason.

Just thought I'd send you this link

maman asprin masks are often better with soluble asprin, well they dissolve better at least. I like to do something active during my leisure time or learning something (whether that's something useful or watching youtube videos on cooking or nail art!). I get annoyed if I waste it too.

  • Well have had a rotten Christmas and will be glad to get last year rid of for good to be honest.

I have taken LL`s advice and have got myself a Barbara Currie Yoga DVD so I am going to be giving that a try in the new year.

I have also been thinking a lot about what I want to change, this year I want to make big changes in my life as I feel completely stuck in a rut, so heres my list...

1> Lose at least three stones in weight
    2> Get fitter, move more
3> Have more fun times, be more proactive in this
4> Be kinder to myself and try to stop worrying as much as I do
5> Try something new once a week (recipe, exercise, visit)

I have to change and by golly I am:j

Wishing you all a fantastic New Year :T:T:T:T

    Need some help! Again...

My hair is pretty similar to this and often stays in that style, is there any other way of styling it? My fringe is too long to move the side and I look silly with no fringe.... Hm.

Willow - my hair is a bit like that too. I've started growing out the length a bit but its got to the stage that it just looks frumpy and nothingy. I used to have long hair and then cut it all of after the split with OH (classic spurned woman syndrome I've been told!).
I can't decide whether to have it cut back into shape (like the picture) again or to perservere growing it. If you find any alternatives I'd love to hear about them.

Right, I've had a think and here's my aims for 2012....
    1. Lose 10lbs - 1 stone (have started this at least!)
    2. Continue with new face routine and resist botox
    3. Do some extra exercise other than dog walking (probably swimming) twice a week
    4. Get someone to help me choose clothes that actually do something for me and be one of those people that you see and think "ooh, she looks nice" - will involve not wearing jeans all the time that I'm not at work
    5. Finish fabbing the house - living room is next (£650 saved towards it so far), then the spare room
    6. Get out and about more - I have a few friends that remained after the split and some new ones from work but need to make more of an effort and make new friends and find an interest outside work
I think the last one will be the hardest - I'm an outgoing person but quite private and find it hard to just "find" people if you know what I mean. Any suggestions for a 40 year old single woman (not particularly interested in a romantic relationship) would be appreciated!
