LL, I was about to reply when I saw BB's post - when my Nan was ok hospital she got dehydrated and often a subsequent bladder infection, both of which cause confusion, and make her seem worse than she actually is. Make sure she has plenty to drink like fruit juice/squash and things other than lukewarm water that's been sitting there all day that I wouldn't blame her for not fancying! Maybe send DS down with some?

I still have a cold, and my back and neck are pretty sore but did drag the contents of my knicker drawer downstairs and sort through them earlier, which I'd meant to do for ages. Threw a pile of ratty or too small ones out, it's surprising how many nice knickers I do have now I can see them!

Do you know, I've been meaning to do this for ages!
I'm sure I'll find some fairly respectable ones lurking beneath the ones that are worn, washed and put back into the drawer every week.:o

cross-posted Epsom but that's fantastic on the weight loss :j great how just small changes can start making a difference. I think the 7lb a month thread is this one.

Just weighed and there's no change so the weightloss remains at 3lbs - not surprising really considering what I've eaten.

Same here WW, must try harder next week :o

    Had a fab day:

    2 x 60-70 min dog walks
    2 x 30 min bike rides
Fabbed up the living room and stairs and kitchen floor
    Did the ironing
    Washed and dried things
    Had a lovely tea
    Defuzzed eyebrows
    Filed and buffed nails

Weigh in day on Thurs along with measurement day so lets see how I get on with that. Back to boring work tomorrow and have really enjoyed the last 4 days and how much I've done. Taking advantage of feeling healthy and the weather when its dry which has done wonders for how positive I feel and the energy I have as a result.

LL- glad to see your back's improved slightly. Your DS sounds like a star. :)

It's terrible when parents become unable to cope isn't it. I know a few who really want to stay in their own homes but aren't really fit to do so, hope something can be sorted out for them.

My back's still twingeing a bit but have had an easy weekend. Am off to spend some survey vouchers tomorrow with the kids. I'll let them carry the bags. :)

Morning all! Just back from the post office and park with the dog. I had to post a revision guide I sold through Amazon - only £7 but it all goes into the holiday fund and I've never used it.

Mum and sister are arriving today for 2 nights - the house is spotless and the fridge is stocked so I'm ready. It won't stay like that - usually within an hour of them being here the house is like a bombsite and the kettle has been boiled at least twice!
I think we're off to the big out of town M&S this afternoon - will do my best to resist temptation unless its a complete bargain and fabulous.

Hope that everyone has a good day.

Back to square one, back being the operative word:( The drive and visit to OH yesterday were a mistake and I'm struggling again.

Anyway I have booked a physiotherapy massage for Friday - if I can't drive I'll just have to get a taxi - it won't be the first time I've had to do that.

I'll just take it from there - I still think I might look at a course of osteopathy/chiropractic treatments - s*d the money. I just want to get fit and mobile again. Not much point in having the money in the bank when I can hardly get off the sofa. ;)

Lizzie - you are so right about DS2 - I am so lucky with my boys. DS1 is coming over today - his plan was to have a nice lazy "with Mum" day and then we'd all go to see Prometheus tonight.

Instead I'm going to give him a list and he'll do a bit of shopping for me and then we'll just have a lazy day - don't think I could manage to sit in a cinema seat for several hours. Perhaps next week.

I think after that I will start getting organised - do a monthly on-line shop for the heavy stuff, with the occasional Costco trip with DS2 to act as my packhorse. As OH would say "Why have a dog and bark yourself":D.

It's finally starting to dawn on me that I'm not as young as I once was and I don't heal as quickly. Time to start being a bit more careful - prevention is better than cure.

As you can imagine - there's not much fabbing going on - it's taking me all my time to have my baths and keep clean. Even brushing my teeth sets my back twanging.:rotfl:

I missed my hair appt last week and it looks dreadful. I might see if I can try my friend's mobile hairdresser to just come and give it a bit of a cut and tidy up just for now.

We're nearly at that Solstice and I'm far from fab - nowhere near my goals.:(

I did the knicker drawer thing last week - I must have at least 50 pairs. I did throw a few away though.

Not much news about Mum yet, just spoke to Dad and he sounds terribly low. I just wish I could do more other than be a voice on the end of the phone. At least my sister has stepped into the breach and she knows that I will not leave it all to her and that I'll be pitching in as soon as I can.

That's the beauty of families isn't it - yes we all have our little quirks and squabbles but when the chips are down families really are "in it together".

I look at my boys and they fill me with pride. I was often criticised for being "soft" with them when they were young but I must have got something right. They are both fine young men, a joy to be with when times are good and a great source of strength and comfort when I need them.

Have a good day, hope the bad backs, aching joints etc get better soon - what a load of old crocks we are at the moment. :rotfl:

Dont worry about not meeting your goals as it is a good excuse to extend the thread again - well if you would like too.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
