I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

well thats the great manchester run over with for another year :j

my official time was 1 hour 34, i felt my blood sugar dropping just as i got past united so i had to take it easy. pushed a bit when i got the jelly babies at 8km and over took a bear, a panda and a group of insects :rotfl:

Well done - was it a 10k or a half marathon? I unfortunately had to not run my half marathon as I was recovering from the ear infection and still had a nasty virus
Sparkles:T:T:T What can we say. Graduation with honours and distinction I think. You are an absolute inspiration. A size 8 indeed. Old lardy here will settle for a 14, although a 12 would be wonderful. My knees would appreciate me shifting some of this blubber too.

Now then, good luck wishes sent to you and all with your plans for eating healthily.

Thank you for my graduation with honours. My word what an award, what an achievement. Let's hope I can graduate next year at that point too!

On the dress size drop. I originally aimed to get back into my size 12 clothes again and never for a minute thought I would get into a size 10. As for being a size 8 - I'm a 10 in most things on the top half, can still wear a 12 and definately not an 8. Then on the bottom half now a size 10 in most things and in skirts an 8 - weird weird and more weird, however quite a lot of this :j and this :D going on when I think about it.

I can't quite believe how far I have come in a year. The strange thing is that no weight has been lost since Jan as I've been maintaining at a healthy point and seeing if I can maintain. Which I have done. I started all this 1yr and 10 days ago when I finally got fedup of how much weight I'd put on and how my clothes were fitting but I certainly had no idea of ever reaching this point. It's all been a surprise all along the way but a very nice surprise to have too x

BLERRRGRGRGRGRGHGH!!!! Is all I can say. I'm so drained. Funerals (Nan's was great, loads of people turned up and was quite upbeat) and my dissertation are over but I still have my exams (this week, still angry that i have finals on consecutive days and am the only one in the entire university with that schedule) and feel so off. I want to punch everyone who tells me things like "think of the good times", of course I'm thinking of the good times but that doesn't make you instantly feel better, well balanced and able to focus. I know they mean well but I rarely even ask for their opinion, they just hear it on the grapevine that i have exams and stick their oar in

I have been semi-comfort eating, absolute carb fest as it's quick and what I have in so I've put on quite a bit of weight. Don't know how much, it's hard to tell as it hits my middle then spreads out after a few months (if i don't lose it first) so I just feel like a giant barrel. Weight gain hits my middle first then spreads out so right now I feel like a big clumsy barrel and really self conscious.

LL- feel free to vent. We all know you have our best interests at heart.
Sorry to hear of OH's situation it must be so hard for you.

I would join you all in the weight loss challenge but I know atm I wouldn't do it ( and I've got lots of birthday chocs left ;))

I'm not yet 50 so the help you suggested won't help me and as I'm not the claimant I think I'm right in thinking I can't get any help just yet until the 26 weeks of ESA are up.

    Well done Evilsquid :T:T

Struggling with my finger a bit today but am trying to use it more like I've been told. Still very painful though. :(

Just done my nails and they look fab, if I do say so myself :j:j Did them last Sunday too, the first time in ages...had two compliments on them last week. So this first new habit has stuck, for now anyway. And I have an appointment to get my hair done this week, probably the first time this year (eek!). It's very long, so I kind of let it slide and tie it back etc but you guys are starting to get me into better habits. With the new diet starting tomorrow I'm determined to go swimming, though not looking forward to being seen in my cossie so I'll have to get in and out really quick :rotfl:

What is your last tea of abandon WW? I'm eating choc caramel digestives lol

my law conversion exams were all like that, over 10 days we had 7, a block of 4 one after the other then a weekend break then the last 3. by the last one we were all mentally and physically drained. most of us reached the point where we just wanted it over with and couldn't care what the mark was. all the lads lived on red bull, pro plus and dodgy "revision" pills one of them bought off the net. they ended up ringing all us girls in a panic because they realised days before the exams just how many lectures they'd skipped over the year and that a few of them were really important.

i found the best thing was to live in the college library for the week before and during them. we got there early, revised, went to exam, then after exam did more revision (we stayed in the library until 10pm when it closed) then go home and don't touch your books until the next day. it meant we had at least some time every day that was purely ours and because we'd allocated time for hardcore revision, we got more done by saying i'll stay here until 11am, get a brew, have a 15 min tea break then revise til lunch, have lunch break, revise til 2 then tea break etc.

Are you ready to sizzle yet - no me neither.:o

Today is the 21st - that means it's just a month now till our deadline.

Time to pull out the stops ladies.

For me the procrastination has to stop right now. For the last couple of months I've been coasting and I'm way behind on my goals. Need to pull my socks up.

So from today - LL - get your head in the right place, shoulders to the wheel, put your back into it, grab life with both hands, best foot forward.

All those body parts....head, shoulders, hands, back, feet :rotfl::rotfl:

PS Adelight - Good luck with the exams, sounds like a punishing schedule.

Try not to worry about your weight and diet this week, one thing at a time. Just think of food as fuel this week. if you need carbs for quick energy to tide you over then so be it. Same with red bull, caffeine - whatever it takes. You can rethink your food plan when your exams are over.

Evilsquid - I use to revise like that. They do say it's best to try and not revise late into the night just before the exam but to try and keep a clear night and get some sleep.

    Morning all,

ww - glad the sofas have come, am sure the room looks great now :) had to smile when I read your comments on Sister, had it a while back for a book group and have to agree it wasn't the cheeriest of reads, and rather then being 'original' the ending just annoyed me! I think you should definately look into the week away with the meet up group - it's not like you would have to stay with them all the time if you wanted some peace for a bit, but they are there for if you did want some company. Maybe see if you could speak to someone who's been away with them before (if this isn't their first trip?) and see how it tends to work out with people doing their own thing there.

rachelja - welcome :jand well done on the plans already, have to agree it's so important to understand especially where you want be then you can try and plan how to get there! :)

LL - please don't be so hard on yourself hun, it would be wonderful if we had a crystal ball, could look into the future and know exactly what the right decisions to make were - but we don't, we have to do the best we can at the time and hope it will work out in the end, sadly sometimes it doesn't. Glad you got some good news for a change on the financial front. Hope OH is getting his care sorted now, must be so frustrating but hopefully now you've alerted people to it then things won't slip again.

evilsquid - well done on the Great Manchester Run :T:T am so impressed, had to smile at the comment about the bear and the pandas, my brother did it for the first time last year and was feeling quite happy with his time until he saw a tiger and a big pink hippo speed in front of him :rotfl:

Adelight - sending you *hugs* hun, wish there was more I could do then that :( Just try and concentrate on your exams this week and can think about the eating etc later on. I know it can be so annoying when people just spout cliches at you, but they probably want to be helpful they just don't really know what to say.

Goodness, so it's a month to our deadline and I must admit I haven't got very far at all :o Like LL says, need to get myself in gear and try and sort out the eating and exercise, which has basically gone to pot! We have a month, I'm sure something is doable in that time :)
Anyway, busy weekend as usual, been photo editing for most of it. Was meant to do a shoot yesterday but got cancelled at the last minute, which was a little annoying but at least I got caught up on the stuff I had piling up I suppose.
Work-wise, I need to go and see one of the bosses at some point today. I've decided I'm going to ask if I can go onto 4 days a week. I've been working it out and should get a bit more tax credits, possibly even some housing benefit so won't be much worse off and will give me more time to work on my own stuff. I just need to bring a little bit in on that week to make up the difference so hopefully it will be doable. Just have to see if work go for it now. If not I will have to look for something else so hopefully they will see it as the lesser of two evils :o

I love the photos you have on your website podperson :) especially the beach one, you can almost here the waves, it really is lovely. I like the landscape one too, do you mind me asking where it was taken? I love walking and one of my favourite pictures is near Buttermere is the Lake District.

I have a headache but am going to go swimming, maybe that will help, it is a glorious glorious day too.
