Evening all!
LL - to the kitchen fire! A good excuse to get it done when you can afford it anyway - I can find a positive in anything;).
I'm sorry to hear about all of the issues some of you have had with your parents - I'm fortunate enough to not have had problems like that but I did feel a little bit of a second thought sometimes when I was young as my sister has serious disabilities and was always having operations, physio, appointments etc to which I had to tag along. But I know that I was loved and wanted and my parents did the best they could - lots of clubs, sports, brownies etc. Looking back I don't know how my mum ever did it all bless her - she must have been constantly exhausted, funny how you don't appreciate it at the time. Dad was a fireman and worked shifts and so it was left to mum to do prettty much everything - hats off to my mum:T:A:A
Sorry - got a bit carried away there!
Anyway, its day 3 of the not smoking campaign and I haven't succumbed - I'm secretly quite proud of myself. So far its not been as bad as I thought it would be, maybe the worst is to come? I'll keep on trying though.
Not much else to report really - just another bonkers day at work with another one to come tomorrow I expect. One small thing, I've had really vivid dreams over the past two nights (not upsetting but very weird and colourful) - do you think its due to nicotine withdrawal? Not using any patches and have only had 4 pieces of nico-gum since Saturday.0 -
I have very much enjoyed Mary Beard in her recent Roman's series. I personally think she is beautiful as she is at one with her body and I love her dress style.
As you might be aware I also struggle with my parents and hope one day to have some acceptance of my childhood and formative years - Im working on it. Im also an only child Lamewolf - perhaps I can be your virtual sibling too? I always prayed for a sibling to take away the loneliness but it was never to be.
Love and hugs to you all x
'Course you can, Molly.

I'm being daft this evening as displacement activity - I have a visit to the physio-terrorist tomorrow and I'm trying not to think about it cos I know it's going to hurt!_pale_:cool::o
ETA: Mr LW has just put a mug of tea in front of me - Breakfast Tea (yeah, at 21:00 lol) with a slice of lemon in it, in my Wolf mug.:AIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
LW - are you sure there's nothing stronger in your tea?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0

Anyways, the whole point of that waffle Lizzie, is a paw of support when you're feeling less than fab - virtual sister!:D (I don't have any siblings of my own, so I'm claiming you as a virtual one!):rotfl:
Aww thanks LW'Course you can, Molly.

Good luck at physio LW it's not pleasant I know but hopefully it'll be worth it.
Have decided I am going to register to volunteer with RSPCA and see what happens, there 's also a local independent animal sanctuary nearby so am going to get in touch with them too and offer my services.
Not sure either of them would have me if they had seen the performance we had earlier.:o Had an incident with a goose which tried to attack me and dog whilst we were walking, dog took exception and we nearly had goose for tea:eek::eek:. Won't be going that way again. OMG scared me to death. Fortunately goose seemed ok.:oFrump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

I just had to post reading that LW. I went to a great performance of the Mikado on Friday night. Some students from a local college had linked up with local amateurs. It was fantastic to see a young Nanki Poo and the three little maids were also all about 17. They were really fantastic. I love G&S.
Good Luck with the physioterrorist.
I've got a lot on at the moment and I'm away next week but I'm managing to read regularly.0 -
Morning all,
Sezza - forgot to say but new pup is absolutely adorable, and you'll have some motivation for walking more soon
LL - you be careful in the that kitchen girl  nice to have made a start on the house revamp.
Molly - sending you *hugs* - if you want more virtual siblings we will all volunteer, you'll be sick of your virtual extended family in no time, just like RL :rotfl:
ww - well done with the smoking :T tbh I found that I wasn't really that bad with withdrawal symtoms or anything like that, I just found it harder to break the habit of having one iyswim. Sounds like your willpower is doing great
LW - :rotfl::rotfl:I can so picture you all singing it as well! Good luck with the physio today, hope she can do something to help a bit x
Lizzie - yay on deciding to volunteer :j hope you don't get any geese in the centre :rotfl:Seriously though, really don't like them, remember getting chased by some when I was little, horrid creatures!
maman - the theatre sounds fun, hope you enjoy your time away x
Anyways, back to the grindstone yesterday, manic at work - you'd think I'd been away a week not 2 days, they don't bother dealing with anything in the meantime, just pile it all on my desk for when I get backThen went to meet a couple about doing their wedding, and they have confirmed they want to go ahead with it :jis the 6th July so not that far off really, don't know if I'm more excited or nervous about it!! Didn't get home until about 7.30pm so quick tea and then was photo editing until about 12.30am so bit knackered today. Did a shoot last week for a fitness instructor and is taking longer to edit then I thought they would, most need the background taking out which is a little faffy
Ah well, shouldn't complain when I was after this kind of work! Need to get back on my other money-making things as well, I introduced my dad to matched betting last year and he's putting me to shame! Has paid about a grand off his credit card, replaced their broken washer, paid for flights away for them - all off his profits. I've been a bit lazy with things lately so must get organised and back into things. Same with the fabbing, wore a nice skirt yesterday but this morning couldn't find tights or my black pants so ended up in jeans
need to go back to sorting things the night before.

Hi all
I'm glad you liked my G&S post - we saw "Pirates of Penzance" a while ago at MK Theatre, which was very good; Paul Nicholas was the Pirate King - he doesn't look his age!
I promise virtual singing is the only sort I'll inflict on you - I used to have a good singing voice, but no longer, I fear.
Tbh, I could cheerfully weep into my glass of Red Bull this morning - already had two doses of Oramorph and a hot bath and still it's agony.:( Oh well, we'll see what happens this afternoon.
I'll have to try and bung on a bit of war paint, because Mr LW is on about going to the cinema afterwards, if I'm up to it. He wants to see the new Johnny Depp film, "Dark Shadows". Personally I have my doubts about it, but we only pay for one ticket anyway, (carer goes free),and he won't go on his own (wimp):D so I might as well go along with it. I just hope he doesn't want to visit Wetherspoons after that because I don't honestly think I'll cope with that as well.:o
I've got my purple cotton skirt on - it's full-length, but the bottom 6 inches or so is split panels, iyswim; and I have the cerise T-shirt he bought for my birthday, with the "Midsummer Night's Dream" quote on - "Though she be but little, she is fierce.":D
Anyways, as he's working from home today, dins is at 12:00, so I must go and construct a Shepherd Spy.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Well done on the wedding - that's my birthday - so it is an auspicious day.:rotfl: How exciting for you.
I really must look at some of DS2's photos for my sitting room revamp.
I spent a lot of time last night trawling through art websites for some cheap and cheerful wall art. Done my shortlist so will have another look tonight and then probably order, but I must definitely get some of my lad's work up on display too.
Go pp'sdad. Gosh he's doing well. I must have a go at this - I will be asking your help I think. My moneymaking has taken a back seat of late. Need to get a grip.
Walking
I managed a 10 minute walk to the post box yesterday, plus of course a couple of hours trailing round Dunhelm and Sainbugs - do they count. I know I was knackered afterwards.
Hoping to manage another walk today, also off to see OH later.
WW - well done on the smoking. Don't forget to keep the money aside for something nice.
Lizzie - geese are horrid, nasty vicious brutes. They make good guard dogs though - Ballantyne's Whisky kept them for that reason at their warehouse. I used to pass it everyday on the train to work - the noise they made.
Right off to get cracking.
Have a good day.0 -

Am afraid just basic fabbing here. having a few "fat" days, you know the ones where you see yourself in a mirror and you don't like what you see. Trying to focus on my positives but I confess it's a struggle this week
having HM leek and potato soup. OK leeks did need using up but really it's May, it's ruddy cold and I shouldn't be having to eat warming soup  it's just typical because I turned the heating off permamently yesterday :rotfl:
Hugs and spoons all roundEnjoy your Tuesday.
