I'm back - and feeling a little better after a much-needed dose of Oramorph!
Today was just an assessment - but basically, the PT nodded understandingly at my description of what's been happening; and pre-empted part of what I was going to say by asking questions, to which I replied "yes" so I think she's got a handle on what's happening. She did maul me about rather - I was very restrained and didn't swear much. She's going to consider the best way of going about treatment - apparently I can have anything up to 8 visits, at which point that's the limit the PCT allows; and, long story short, I'm going back next Tuesday (Mr LW is on early shift again) when she'll have decided whether or not a steroid injection is appropriate at this stage.
I'm to use local heat (we have microwavable wheaty bags), and she says to continue with gentle yoga. Luckily, she does her own appointments, so I don't have to run the gauntlet of the receptionist every time, and is happy to slot me in when Mr LW is around to take me - she even has a Saturday clinic!
I'd hoped she'd give me a steroid injection today (I did tell her I've had them in the past) but she wants to consider the options for treating me, it seems.
Anyways, we've had a bit of relaxation by giving Dylan a game with his ball in the back garden; I've had some Oramorph as I mentioned, and done a little yoga, and Mr LW is now doing his WiiFit exercises.
LL glad you're feeling a little better; I hope the headache lifts as well. Thanks for the Kevin info.... now I know why I never had children!!:rotfl:
WWat you getting cross about lack of soaps - we're actually up to four programmes per week to watch, which is unprecedented!
Tuesday - Alcatraz
Wednesday - Fringe
Friday - Sanctuary
Friday - Awake
And that's our entire week's TV!:rotfl:All of it taped to watch later of course, so that I don't have to suffer the adverts.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Oh no! Poor Hammy!:(0

Poor Hammy. Hope she didn't suffer.
I took our last one to the Vets and had him put to sleep, he was obviously not well and in some distress.
I paid more to have him put to sleep that we paid for him in the first place. I know he would have probably died within a day or so but I just couldn't bear to watch him suffer. I know - I'm such a softie.:o
LW Glad to hear your appt went OK - just take it easy this evening.0 -
Evilsquid sorry to hear about poor hammy

I am just about at screaming point with this headache.
LW - You mentioned your lower back pain yesterday and how you used to get this as part of your cycle and you are getting it again now. I find that even though I am now post menopausal I still get that awful headache that was part of my cycle. It will last around 36 hours and nothing shifts it.
I did go to the nursing home for an hour or so this afternoon and one of the male nurses took one look at me and asked me if I was alright.
I'm normally as white as a sheet when in the middle of one of these headaches, and really need make up on a day like today. However, today I couldn't even bear to touch my face to apply any. Even combing my hair hurts:o. Oh the joys of being female. :rotfl:
I'm now up to about 30 hours so am hoping it will be gone tomorrow morning. It's mums 87th birthday and I really want to take her out for lunch, especially as sis is in Oz.
LW BTW you are lucky to get 8 physic sessions - in our PCT it's 4 and that's your lot - which is why I gave up and elected to pay for my own.
I got lost with "Fringe" - too complicated for a simple soul like me.
Speaking of paying for your own - the nursing home have managed to find a reclining chair for OH. The stuffing is coming out of the sides, so I will take some electrical tape and effect a repair but it is at least more comfortable for him than being forced to sit in a wheelchair all day. It will do for now but he will probably still need something more supportive in the long run.
Anyway off to bed to try and sleep it off.
G'night all x
PS Realised I was about due for my hair cut - rang the hairdressers and apparently I'd missed my appt - should have been last week. Poor girl I felt awful for letting her down. She was very understanding though. Only problem I now have to wait until beginning of June. Oh well it's my own silly fault.0 -
Feeling much better of late, with the new haircut that i had for court etc, I am still getting some good compliments even after I have done it. (which is not the same as when the hairdresser does it!).
My BF's 19 year old daughter gave me a pile of clothes this weekend. Obviously I am not about to wear the shorts, I will use them in my handbag making. But I will be able to use the tops and the jeans. Its handy having another member of the family the same size as me!.
She mentioned that she has now got 3 blazers, as they are the in thing for this summer apparantly. So this morning, I thought thats easy, I have a blazer from a few years back, so dug that out, and wearing it today with an old mens shirt, and jeans. So nearly on trend! Should really have had layered t.shirts with it, but am off to the hospital and then the councilling so thought i better be tamer.
Think I have even got a few minutes to go and get some make up on.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi all
Sorry to hear about the poor Hamster.
LL I hope to goodness that youir headache has gone by now; I know how debilitating they are, as I've suffered migraines since I was a child. I guess I should count myself lucky that our PCT allows 8 physio sessions - paying for it myself simply isn't an option. *opens purse and moths fly out*:D
Glad the nursing home have located a chair that will be a bit more comfy for your OH, even if it's not totally ideal, and needs patching up - better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!;) This at least will give you a bit of breathing space to source the correct article (and hopefully lambast the Powers That Be into funding it)
Mooloo gosh, you're good, keeping up with what's in fashion! I've dug out my grey velvety skirt (elasticated waist, so comfy);) - it also has a matching integral tie belt, with black glass beads on the ends, and a green top with a sort of decorative lacing down the front and big dangly sleeves.
I ought to do my nails some time today - they're getting to the length where they will break/flake if I don't trim them back.
I also need to do Dylan's postcard home - he's being picked up at 10:00 tomorrow morning, and the likelihood of me being with-it enough that early to write something coherent is precisely zero, so I'll get it done today.;)
I'm sure there was more I was going to reply to, specially as I was pretty out of it yesterday, but my mind's now gone blank (need coffee, I suspect);)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Mooloo you are so much better than me, I haven't got a clue what's on trend :o:rotfl:
LW who's the next arrival at LW Towers?
LL hope headache has gone now xxx
I have a head like a barometer todaywe are supposed to be having lots of rain today and not a drop has fallen yet. However the pressure in my head is giving me a headache. If someone tapped me I am sure I would say low pressure :rotfl:

Bitsy, I've no-one else booked in now til after our holiday - we're away from 26th May to 2nd June, going to the Isle of Wight. Mr LW's pal has spare keys to our place and will be keeping an eye on things for us as always.;) Next canine visitor is Sidny the diabetic Miniature Schnauzer, who is due to arrive on 15th June.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
