Good to hear that you've finally had a bit of a relax Sparkles.
I've done quite a bit of schoolwork, had a bath, walked the dog again and cooked a nice healthy-ish tea of lentil moussaka and salad (when I say cooked I mean put in the oven and chopped the salad:p).
Back to work tomorrow but I think its just a normal day - no meetings after school (as yet). I've made a lunch of a sandwich and fruit to stop me eating rubbish and planned a good tea - sometimes that goes out of the window after a long day though.
I've also suggested a couple more walks with the group and people have joined up already - others must have enjoyed it then and I wasn't deluding myself:rotfl:. The best thing is that its free (apart from the petrol to get there), local and in the fresh air. Who'd have thought it of me?
Hope you feel a bit better tomorrow LW - like LL says take a list to the doctor and don't be worried about looking at it, I'm sure lots of people do it.0 -
lizzie ((hugs)) if worse comes to worst i'm sure your kids will help you. I was an awful crazy teen but genuinely turned out fine and am there for my family when they need me, all my naughty friends turned out okay too.
I like all the Ts but can't think of one myself, my brain is in serious melt down. Not good when I need to do uni work today, I came back to London especially to get work done! Er and to sort out more new house stuff, the LL is being a serious pain in the !!!! and I'm close to pulling out.
I've joined a bzz campain for Volatrol and have been feeling especially stiff lately so think when that turns up it's time for some mental workouts and yoga so I can put it to use.
Fabbing today: face mask, that's it sorry.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Or at least postponed......
Serious tummy upset, headache - feeling pretty grim.
Have cancelled OH's hospital appt - just can't manage it.
Am just sorting out some urgent phone calls and a couple of letters and then that's it for today.
I might try and visit OH later this afternoon - if I perk up a bit.
Have a good day X0 -
im sending you my love Lizzie. most of the people i knew when we were teens all had a phase where they just acted like kevins for no reason. i remember going through a phase where i refused to tidy my room and every time i was asked my mum got a barrage of abuse and the obligatory "i HATE you!". can you speak to any organisations about it if you really do want to go? you might not be as trapped as you think. xx
i hope you feel better soon LL xx0 -

Posi-vibes for this afternoon would be appreciated, folks; I last had Oramorph at 05:15 this morning, and am struggling; (I've also had my usual sustained-release morphine tablet of course). The idea is for the physio-terrorist to see me "as I am" iyswim, not drugged up with Oramorph so that I only feel some of the pain and therefore don't give her the full nine yards of how bad it really is.
I have this morning: given Dylan a trundle round the back garden and fed him (in my dressing gown!!), bathed and dressed (with assistance), done my daily body-check on the Wii (yoga's gonna have to wait til later), washed a black dress that has to be done on its own (the colour runs), put the breadmaker on to make a loaf, and constructed a vegetarian lasagne for our dins (need to put the oven on shortly to bake it) - oh, and washed up the messy pots, which I'm afraid are now a small mountain drip-drying on the draining board.
I'm cream crackered! I'll have a quick peruse of my emails, and see if I can get my Brain Training done this side of dins (12:00).
Mr LW is working from home today (otherwise I wouldn't be able to go to the appointment) and he'll be finishing at 14:30, having started work at 06:00 this morning. We'll take Dylan for a trundle up the road before we set out for the surgery - then *gulp* off we go! My appointment is 15:30, so if you could possibly cross your fingers, legs, eyes, or anything else crossable at that time, I'd be grateful.:D
Adelight I'd be sorely tempted to tell the landlord to go and do one, by this time.
ETA sorry if I'm being dense, but what the heck is a kevin??:think:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

ETA sorry if I'm being dense, but what the heck is a kevin??
Kevin is a comic character created by the comedian Harry Enfield.
Kevin is the teenager from hell - who's stock phrases include "It's not fair", "I hate you" "You're not my parents".
Anyone who has had teenage children instantly recognised the stereo-type because not only was it funny it was also very very apt. Harry got this character absolutely spot on and it makes for hilarious viewing.
Kevin had a sidekick called Perry.
One of the funniest episodes for me was when Perry went to see the rock band Oasis and came back trying to copy Liam Gallagher - poor Kevin was then trying to join in but hadn't really got a clue about Oasis or indeed Mancunian culture.
I have a picture of DS1 and DS2 taken when we went on the Nile Cruise in Egypt. For a laugh they dressed up one night as Noel and Liam Gallagher with a passing nod to Kevin and Perry.
They had the other passengers on board in stitches. By this time DS2 was about 18 and thankfully had grown out of the Kevin phase:D and was able to play the fool and send himself up.
The female version is of course "Kevinetta"- a passing reference to two other Harry Enfield characters - Wayne and Waynetta Slob.
Harry eventually "killed" off Kevin by allowing him to lose his virginity at a party. He became a civilised grown up overnight whilst poor Perry was left behind in teenage virgin limbo.
Clever stuff and achingly funny. Kevin has gone down in history and is now a byword for all that is the "dreaded teenager".
Good luck with PT.
Feeling a little less like death warmed over, although still have a thumping headache.
I will venture over to see OH later.0 -
Will someone please give me a tutorial on how to do links
For your delectation .....

Fingers crossed
Edit - not sure if this will work. If not just google Kevin the Teenager - there are loads of clips on there. My other favourite "How to Avoid Washing The Car".0 -

My thoughts exactly but OH wanted to hang on a bit. He's just text me saying our bank transfer is done and the LL has just dropped the keys off at his work for him, funny how helpful people suddenly become when they see the money :rotfl:Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
As it's gone four, I've just uncrossed my fingers LW, hope the appointment went OK.
One thing I do remember about Kevin was that even though he gave his own parents a hard time, he was charm itself when was at his friends' homes. I think there's the clue in that if we give young people all the right messages at home, they may rebel in the home but often behave beautifully outside. Basically, it's because they can!
Your link worked fine LL, hope you're feeling a bit better. Sun has come out here briefly.
I haven't done much fabbing but I'm trying. I had my hair cut on Friday but now it needs washing (always seems to last longer with a professional blow dry) but can't be bothered. I had a dental appointment this morning, all OK at check up. Stopped off at local shops to drop CS stuff off and buy a card for a friend. I got a nice pair of grey jeans (M&S) for £3.50 in good condition and nice long length. Again I was amazed at the cr*p they sell well worn from Asda/Primark/Tu for silly prices and any good stuff costs more than it would in a sale. I plan to do a manicure when I'm watching telly tonight.
Back later.:)0 -
Afternoon ladies!
LW - hope the appointment went well - let us know what they said.
LL - hope you're feeling better - I'm sure OH would understand if you didn't feel up to visiting today.
Another long day at the chalkface - but a fairly good one, lots of admin to do tonight though. Oh well, it will get better when the yr 11s leave in a couple of weeks and the yr 10 exams are out of the way.
I managed to do my nails (fingers and toes) last night and they do look better now. I need to do a face scrub and mask tonight if I get the time after the school work. Good job I took my lunch too - I was starving and could have easily polished off a pile of rubbish. Tea tonight is pasta with a tomato sauce and lots of extra veg and some dough balls left over in the freezer. If I'm still a bit nibbly later on there's raspberries in the fridge. I always do feel better when I eat properly just need to do it all of the time:o
Its the dreaded week of Britains Got Talent on the telly every night - disrupting my soap viewing - the cheek of it!:rotfl: So there's no excuse to get on with some work. My friend is popping over in a mo to collect the old glass TV stand (replaced with a nice matching wooden one in the recent revamp). Better that it goes to a good home than to the tip - and he's soooo funny and camp that he cheers me up every day - he deserves it. Best be off to put the kettle on for him, the demanding old queen!:)0
