Frump to Fab - Summer Solstice Sizzler

Good afternoon ladies
Adelight - glad to see things are under control. Thinking of you.
Just a quickie - running late and nearly time to cook dinner.
So far acupuncture seems to be working well - back much easier today. I have been able to do two lots of stretches and PT exercises with no pain. Fingers crossed.
Blood tests negative - so thankfully not PMR, no inflammation. Thyroid function ok so nothing nasty going on. Just a case of the endless stress taking such a high toll of my general health and well-being that I need lots of time to recover.
The GP asked what self help pain relief have I tried. He thinks I'm doing a good job and just to carry on with what I'm doing and try and up the exercise as and when. He knows my problems with drug related pain relief and is not offended when I refuse offers of drugs.
I just need to be a patient patient. :rotfl: So I'll make the most of the summer (ha) lots of rest etc. I do feel that I've made a bit of progress this week.
Did buy myself a new wheat bag for my neck. I find them great, my last one dropped to bits.
Don't forget tomorrow is Fab Friday. Glad rags on.;)0 -
I will pass on glad rags tomorrow LL, have my grandads funeral to go to. Need to go and sort that out in a mo as I have no idea what I am wearing. I have a black jacket but think I threw out my black trousers years ago when I left my job. Personally I don't like all black funerals, I want lots of bright vivd colour at mine
sadly my fathers side of family are rather old school and wouldn't see it like that. Ho hum better go dig something suitable out of the wardrobe. I may be some time..........
LL glad results are all clear xxxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
LL - good to hear that things are a bit more positive for you - good news about the blood results.
So sorry to hear about the recent bereavements (Bitsy and Adelight) - we're all here for you to vent at if you need it. Hugs xxxx0 -
Thanks WW but I ought to point out I have no warm fuzzy feelings for him so hugs aren't necessary. I did however discover a pair of black trousers lurking in wardrobe. However they are a slightly different "black" to my jacket......think I can get away with wearing them together???I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Bitsy I hope it goes well tomorrow.:o
I have to confess I get very confused about nutrients - I just about get my head around the basic vitamins and minerals, and that's my limit!
I don't eat meat or fish under any circumstances, so gods only know what omega thingies I should be looking at.
Anyways. we've eaten our pizza (Mr LW's didn't touch the sides on the way down - I think he was hungry!) and he's now doing some stepping on the WiiFit while I [STRIKE]wreck[/STRIKE] exercise my knees with the mini-walker machine.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Sorry for being AWOL this week. It's been a bad week but not in the same area as.for some of you. Trying to put things in perspective.
Have been struck down by an ear infection, cold virus thing, sore throat and now a sore chest. Not great as the half marathon is a week away. Don't want all that training to go to waste and thats whats done my head in. Along with multiple things at home going wrong and breaking. Also trying to write 3 assignments while feeling utterly rubbish.
Happily have passed my resit assignment so at least I can forget about that one now after 4mths of it. To cheer myself up and as a reward for all that work it took to pass that assignment I decided to treat myself to a summer skirt in the online sale, a mini skirt for winter to help me remain motivated to keep the weight off plus I never thought I would wear one again! Also a lovely summer top to go with white trousers if we ever get some summer weather.
Not much fabbing this week apart from making sure I ate the fruit and veg I had bought rather than eating rubbish and chucking it out. So I guess. I can count that as some fabbing. Hoping I start to feel better tomorrow as I'm getting sick of this after a week and really need to start exercising again to give me some piece of mind!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Sorry to hear that sparkles, I think you must be run down from all the work. Do try to take it easy over the weekend and recover. Like you saod, after all that preparation it would be such a shame to miss your run. Keep us posted. The bit of retail therapy sounds like good fabbing to me. Do you think we'll ever get weather good enough for white trousers???
ww, your weekend sounds a good balance of domestic pottering, fresh air, company and hopefully some rest!! I'm off to the theatre (stage version of Death on the Nile with some really good actors in it) and a meal out on Saturday and a bit of a party on Monday. It's SIL's birthday and she's doing a sort of afternoon tea thing. Proper celebration for her is our holiday in Brittany in 2 weeks time. Sunday, I intend to potter about and make us a nice meal.
I'm not good with supplements but I do try to have fish a couple of times a week;usually sardines on toast for a lunch and kippers for breakfast. Since doing SW I eat loads of fruit and veg plus some meat (small portions only). All I'm missing is some Vit D from sunshine!!
Good news about your tests LL and I'm glad the acupuncture seems to be working. Maybe it's about relaxing. I know I get most of my aches and pains when I'm stressed, my shoulders get really tight with knotted muscles.
LW, have a great mental picture of you and MrLW doing your exercises. :T Ashamed to say DH and I just slumped on sofas tonight. We even took the car to polling station as weather so grim. I remember so many lovely May evenings when we've enjoyed a stroll.
I will be doing fab Friday. Haven't decided what to wear yet as waiting to see weather. It will need to be something fairly businesslike as I have a meeting in the morning but may change later.
Seem to be harping on about the weather a lot tonight. Can you tell it's getting to me? I must be a summer person.0 -

Wettest drought in history.:rotfl:0 -
Think I feel a bit better at last after now in the 2nd week of feeling ill. Keeping my hopes up I do and its not an early morning bubble to burst later!
Woke up naturally at my normal time this morning, hoping that's a good sign.
Anyway today is full of assgnment writing while watching the election results and snooker. If I get enough done, I'll treat me and Mr Dog to a nice long walk so long as its not RAINING! If not we'll go tomorrow which looks a drier day.
Right onwards and upwards for today which means a little bit of food shopping and morning dog walk before the studying begins. Can't be without milk for cups of tea can I!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550
