If people are sick of me posting these then feel free to say but since most people sound a little down or frazzled this week thought it might make you smile

Absolutely brilliant:T:T:TI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
evilsquid - totally agree about the fresh fruit and omega. I know I don't get quite as much oily fish as I should so started taking omega 3,6&9 vitamins and eating blueberries and greek yoghurt for breakfast and my skin has improved so much! My rosacea has really calmed down.
I have a friend who makes all natural and organic products and I get a lot from her, face cream, clay mask, lip balm, hand cream. I use oils for moisturising my body, usually coconut oil or soya oil.
My main non-natural purchases toiletry wise are shampoo, conditioner and makeup although once the stuff I have in the house runs out these will be going natural and non-animal tested as well.carpe diem

I tried putting socks on my feet for Lucy-walking the last couple of days because it's been so darned cold, and my feet are now rebelling.:( I had literally chunks of skin fall off the right one last night:eek: (sorry if TMI) so in a way I'm glad of a day dogless so that I can cosset the poor paws a bit.
Dylan the Lurcher is due to arrive tomorrow morning; I think in view of the problems wearing socks has caused, I'll just put up with having cold feet for his walks.;):D
Inner fabbing today will be HM pizza - I must go and make the dough in a minute (in the bread machine, I hasten to add);) and it will have tomato puree, cheese, diced onion, Quorn strips, pine nuts, thyme and basil off the windowsill, sliced tomatoes and pineapple chunks on it. We've got quite a few bananas on the dish, so we can have some of those by way of dessert, I think.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

I'm on cod liver oil and I've jut started the well woman multivits with the extra oil capsules to see what they are like, think the pack works our slightly cheaper than buying the normal well woman multivit and a bottle of high dose cod liver oil.
i realised the other day i have nothing in my stash that has SLS or SLES in it anymore :j that was one of the first things i wanted to ditch asap and its taken me nearly a year to manage it. even things i thought were ok still had it in. had to branch out to natural toothpaste too. the one I'm on now is a bit odd but I've got a lavera one next so I'm hoping it won't be quite as strange lol0 -
Afternoon Ladies!
Looking at how many of you use oils and take suppliments has really inspired me.
Have been having a look and it all looks so expensive! Can any of you give me any idea of where I can get good stuff but at reasonable prices.
Thanks in advance xDetermined to save, save, save

I just take bog standard Boots own Vits and Minerals which seem to be on a perpetual 3 for 2. I had stopped as the warmer weather was here (ha ha) but then lost 3 nails so have started again as they were getting soft.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

We have soluble vit C for when we're a bit coldy - Tesco, Boots and Superdrug are all OK, but Morrisons tastes foul, imho.
I also take H&B calcium + vit D tablets, as I'm a prime candidate for osteoporosis and I have to avoid sun exposure so don't get my vit D that way - again, I stock up when they have special offers on.
I can't have echinacea or anything to boost the immune system, because my stoopid immune system attacks me rather than the germs/infections it's supposed to attack. *rolls eyes*If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LW I buy my vitamin D from here

They are really good, very helpful and I find their products excellent quality and value for money. Hope your poor paws are feeling better soon xxxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Home Bargains and Lidl are good for really cheap supplements. Holland & Barrat charge something nuts like £10 for evening primrose oil when it's about 99p in Home Bargains!
Getting enough fatty acids is important but the ratio of omega 6 and 3 is also very important. Too much omega 6 can "cause"(lead to, contribute to, you know what i mean) heart attack, blood clots, suppress the immune system and the anti-inflammatory properties of omega 3. If you get most of your fat through things like olive oil or avocado then you probably get too much omega 6 compared to omega 3. The "ideal" ratio is anyone between 1:1 to 4:1 but olive oil is 13:1 which is too high. Flax has a 1:4 ratio so a spoon of ground flax in cereal or a tbs of flax oil in dressing is a good way to even out the ratio. The only other things I'm aware of with much more omega 3 than 6 are oily fish- salmon, herring etc.
What was my point? Hmm oh yeah! If you know you eat lots of meat/oil/nuts and little fish then try to get a supplement without omega 6.
Right, funeral and everything is all sorted, now just need to get everything done. I'll make a schedule and some daily to-do lists tonight. Most of the females in the family are/were florists so we will do the 10000 floral tributes together :T
I played just dance on the wii with my sister for almost an hour and it was really good fun and I'm sure it counts as exercise. I'm an awful dancer and was jumping around way more than necessary so my HR was 140-170 at the end of each song. I just checked it 15 minutes after we stopped and it's 61 so hmm quite an increase. My Dad has fancy health monitoring equipment because of his COPD et all that I love to play withLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
All this talk of vitamins had reminded me that Ihaven't taken mine for ages - I put them in the kitchen cupboard a few weeks ago when cleaning and promptly forgot about them. If they're not out I won't take them - have already pulled them back out again. May be why I have a coldsore all of a sudden when I've never had one before? That and being worked to death!
I have bought the coldsore cream recommended and have been slathering myself in it - lets hope it sees them off quickly, not a good look at the moment.
LW - good to hear the next poochy guest is on the way - don't forget the photo for us dog lovers!
Another 2 people have joined the theatre jaunt today and I managed to get them tickets in the same row so we're all together - thats 8 altogether:T I'm more popular than I thought:rotfl: although its probably the play not me drawing the crowds:o
One more day and then its a long weekend - hurrah!! Anybody doing anything exciting?
I'm not going mad - on Saturday morning the new lounge furniture is being delivered, I'm out for a curry in the evening, Sunday is a quiet day and Monday is the dog walk with the ladies that lunch. I suppose that's quite a busy schedule for me really.
