Hi, Just a quick one - have lots to do today!

LL - Enjoy your new motor.:)
PP and Bratz- get well soon. :)
Bitsy- I was was like LL when my kids were v. small. I did let housework slip, rarely went out in the evenings unless they came too as we struggled for babysitters, but tbh I didn't mind because I knew that it is in effect just for a while and before you know it they are grown up. And yes when they become teenagers they will walk past you in the street and try to pretend they don't know you:rotfl:
The one thing I did do was get together with the group of friends I had at the time and have a coffee morning, the kids all played together in a corner of the room whilst we chatted. We even had a few people come and give us little talks, about different things we were interested in. One lady got a friend to come in and talk about what colours suited everyone, as she did this in her job. It isn't strictly just me time as kids are there too but its a break from the 'stuff that needs doing'.
Anyway must get on out for a walk with dog- best get the waterproof out its bucketing down here. x

    Morning all,

Rosetta - no I didn't see that, must admit haven't seen a lot of evidence of the job market here picking up but probably going to be a slow process. Tbh I'm fairly resigned to the fact that I won't get a payrise here anytime soon, they don't really have the budget for it - so my options are really either look elsewhere, and I would probably need to go with one of the big corporate companies which I'm not sure I really want to do as they're always so much hassle with the policies, targets, regulations etc. or stick it out here for now and work on my own things in the background. Am going with option 2 at the moment so fingers crossed it will work out.

Bratz - glad you're feeling a bit better. I don't tend to go with expensive moisturisers as I must admit I can rarely tell the difference - think I get it from my mum who still swears by nivea cream. If moisturisers aren't working for you too well have you looked at what else you're using on your face - eg some cleansers and soap definately can be quite drying, could look at switching to a cream based facial wash. I'm currently using a vitamin E one from Body Shop. I got it cheap but it's not bad.

WW - sounds like you're going to have a manic week but am sure it will be worth it when it's all finished and looking lovely!

Bitsy - it can be hard to fit in you time. As LL says the photos on your blog show you have an eye for that kind of thing, perhaps when you take the puppy out look at going to a few different places with her and taking the camera with you. Don't worry about not having an slr, at least half the piccies on my website are taken with my old camera and most people won't be able to tell the difference. Or try and organise your day so you have maybe an hour in the afternoon when your DD is at nursery that's set aside for you - so you could do some crafts, listen to music, read a book, whatever you think will help you relax and unwind a bit.

Callisto - fingers crossed it's good news on the job front. Glad the concert was good, even with the annoying people around you - I always seem to get people like that at concerts as well, it's so irritating. Am afraid don't know your area at all but hope you think of somewhere and have a lovely day on Sat x

LL - thanks hun, I know he's right and have been trying not to feel bad. I do definately need my own if I'm going to carry on with it, I have a gig to cover tomorrow night that I don't think it's going to come in time for so may have to use OH's camera which isn't ideal, and another one on Sunday afternoon that I'm hoping it will have arrived in time for. Hope you have a fun morning x

Anyway, am still not feeling great but a bit better than yesteday, thank you for the well wishes :) Didn't get the best night's sleep, OH went out with some friends, came home late and then was tossing/turning/snoring/talking in his sleep etc all night as he tends to do when he's had a few :( Was trying to be nice about it as he doesn't go out much anymore and he hasn't done for months but it always seems to end up timed badly for me, eg I'll be ill or have a super early start or something really important on the next time that I need a decent night's sleep for *sighs*
Looks like have found someone to buy the concert tickets, just need to arrange to meet up with him now. Am a little disappointed as would have loved to go, but can't really justify that and the camera at the moment. Didn't end up covering the marathon on Sunday, was already feeling ill and couldn't cope with a 6.30am start! Am booked in for a traffic survey next week though.

Got my new glasses on Monday. Had several compliments on them already. So I feel better. Having my hair done tomorrow. To hell with the expense. I am in court next week and I dont want to look a frump. It for the guardianship of DGD, so I want to look as fit and young(ish) as I can. Dont want them to think I am past it and couldnt do the job.
I wont put my make up on today, its far too wet out there, and i dont want black streaks etc. on my face.
    Onwards and upwards!

    Hello everyone, I'm back :D

We've had a nightmare three months, but I'm starting to relax a bit. I'm up and down like a yo-yo, but at least there are now some 'ups' to concentrate on, lol.

I've done NOTHING to look after myself (except exercises for my sciatica). Or the house. Last week, I smoked a week's worth of tobacco in two days.

I'm going right back to the beginning and starting again. I think I'll write everything down properly this time - I kept short notes before and they were useful so I'll expand on that.

Bossy bitch alert - I want no sympathy, no empathy and no-one worrying. Sorry if that comes across a bit (!) strong, but I HAVE to have somewhere to concentrate solely on the positives (and tbh, be completely selfish), and I'd like to do that here.

So the positives so far this week are -

I've started going through everthing in the house. As I've sorted, tidied, recycled and thrown things away, my mind has become clearer.

I can move around a lot more now, my leg has really improved. As a result, I'm slowly toning up without putting any effort in.

If the seedlings carry on the way they're going, I'm going to have lots of healthy food to eat over the next few months.

I've actually shaved my legs :D

First, hope all the poorlies get better very soon. I've managed to avoid colds and the like for a while so have great sympathy.

Also early happy birthday to Callisto and LW (whether you like it or not!). Callisto, I don't know how far you can/want to travel but Buscot House near Lechlade in the Cotswolds is really lovely. It's a NT property and has the most delightful pre-Raphaelite panels of the story of Sleeping Beauty and the grounds are lovely too. I love pre-Raphaelite paintings, I find them quite magical.

SNAP!! I'm using that at the moment as well plus their eye and neck creams all cheap on line. I haven't used soap on my face all my adult life but as long as I use plenty of moisturiser the price doesn't seem to matter too much.

I think you're absolutely right about looking good for your court appearance. It'll boost your confidence as well as conveying the fact that you're an organised person who's coping and in control (which you are of course!):)

Having been measured a couple of weeks ago I bought this
    $(KGrHqNHJCcE9BdU0PDJBPRgvvOhRQ~~60_1.JPG?set_id=880000500F

yesterday. Ony £7 in TKMaxx, which is about a quarter of the price it should be. I'm going to go through my knicker drawer and get rid of all the too big bras today. Apparently they want them in Oxfam. I also got a basic black cardi from M&S as mine was looking scruffy. I'm dong some voluntary (charity) waitressing on Saturday and they've asked us to wear black and white and I'm dreading being cold.

I think I need another wardrobe audit as I was fancying various tops etc yesterday but I really need to check what I have from last year. So a summer clothes check is needed and it occurred to me that if my bras are too big my bikinis will be too so I need to try those on.

    Back later.

How do you find their eye cream Maman? I think I need to start using a decent one, have struggled with dark circles under them for a while but think they are looking worse at the moment and nothing is seeming to shift them :(

Mooloo please accept my very best wishes with this - put them on one side to take with you next week.;) I wanted to say it now because I'm bound to forget to post at the correct time!:D

:rotfl: Thank you. The way the weather's going, I don't think the Cotswold Wildlife Park is going to be a viable outing on Friday. I've racked my brains, and suggested Bletchley Park as a possible alternative - it has the virtue of being very local to us!:D Mr LW has booked a table at a posh Indian restaurant Friday evening:eek: so I hope they have a very mild vegetable korma on the menu!:D

Early happy birthday to LW, you don't need it kicked under the carpet, you might not think so but you deserve to celebrate your birthday. I for one am pleased you were born as we've had the pleasure of your company of this thread :D (as the pleasure of all the other lovey ladies too :j). Enjoy your trip out, Cotswold wildlife park is lovely although last time we went the male gorilla was having a hissy fit about something. It was incredibly frightening to hear such a powerful animal angry  never been to Bletchley Park...must investigate that sometime :)

Mooloo all the best for court on Monday xxx

Maman lovely bra, I need to investigate TK Maxx a bit more.

Hugs and high fives all round xx

Back playing up today as I slept part of the night in DD's bed, not comfy as all. Weather is also making me want to hibernate again :o:o

podperson - thanks for the advice. I do use a creamy facial wash and am very careful about what I put on my face as it's very sensitive. It's just drier than usual from the recent illness and stress and I know it'll settle down soon it's just a bit annoying right now so was hoping for a quick fix :)

Callisto and LW - Happy birthday!

Birthday wishes to LW and Callistro for later this week.

Well I must be almost fab as a girl on my course told me she couldn't believe I was the age I am. Nice one!

Next fab stage this week is getting to the point of completing a lot of my assignments. I am determined to get to this point by Sunday evening by focussing on productive hours rather than staring at paper and laptop blankly!

Might start some tonight after dog walking and tea is done.

Also the weather was bucketing down today and very grey indeed. Hoping tomorrow is better and I can get out for a run too
