OK - now back with a proper post. I will not let the benefits people ruin my day, no more moaning and boring you all to death. :o

I've been to see OH - took him for a stroll around the nursing home's grounds and found a nice little sun trap to sit in for a while. Then we had tea in the conservatory and I fell asleep whilst he sat and watched the pheasants in the field outside.

Maman - sorry didn't comment about the hair thing. I sometimes use volumising sprays - on wet hair - before blow drying. I find them a bit sticky though.

For me a better option is to pop in some rollers when my hair is dry, a quick spray with hairspray and then leave for at least 10 minutes. This doesn't make my hair curly but does give it a bit of root lift and makes it look a bit thicker. And of course our old friend - a bit of back coming. :rotfl:

    Anyway a couple of "J"s

    Joie de vie

Whatever happens I will not let this wither away. For all my trials and tribulations I still think life is sweet and good. As Hemingway put it "The world is still a fine, fine place" (or something similar;)

I've just spent a nice half hour (whilst trying to write this) chatting to a couple of very dear friends on the phone. It's nice to know there are people out there who care about me and my family and who are "on my side".

Ladies - whatever happens to you - remember this - this is not a dress rehearsal - we've only got one life - make sure you get every last ounce of joy out of it, live it to the max.

I lost a very dear friend when we both 22. She died of leukaemia just three weeks after being diagnosed. I often think of her and I sometimes think A............you would have loved this, I'm doing it for you too.

    Junk

Ditch it. Junk food, junk friends, junk possessions - get rid of them all. Start again as you mean to go on. From now on it's nothing but the best for us and no I'm not talking about expensive things. It doesn't take money to go for quality, just a bit of thought and planning.

Off to cook a really nice and healthy dinner, coronation chicken and lots of salads, followed by a dish of berries and a little cream.

Later a manicure and a good slathering.

    Bye for now X

Bratz - get well soon, don't overdo it.

Speaking of benefits people, I had a right one today, I phoned up, nice as pie, apologised profusly that I didnt have the name of the person who was meant to be visiting... and was told .."So, what do you expect me to do about it?"

I've worked in call centres, if I spoke to ANYONE like that I could have kissed my job goodbye! Seems if you work for the council tho, its ok.

I have thought about SW before but I was too scared to ring them and arrange it! I think the meeting's on Wednesdays and I'm off that day plus it's round the corner so I have no excuse really... I'm just terrified of meeting new people.

Evening everyone, I have been mia yet again! Must fab harder :o

willow i'm sure you will meet someone at SW who you can text or maybe meet up with for an exercise class (zumba anyone?!). Going there alone and meeting people will help you get more confident, so will your job. If you're OH isn't interested then sod him, maybe he will follow your lead in the end?

findingmyway he's not worth worrying over, would you want a !!!!!! like that anyway? I'd be wary of meeting blokes in pulling environments, but nothing wrong with a bit of flirting :D

Maman i find volumising products very sticky too. The best I've found is alternating volume shampoos with light clarifying ones, dry shampoo in the roots, conditioner before shampoo, no conditioner and oiling the ends.

((hugs)) LL & adela don't know how they let such rude people near a phone!

I will work my way back through the thread over a cup of tea, sorry for missing loads of people :o

It's all go go go here still with lots of work and lots of exams. My interview day went okay, it was going really well until I fluffed the last technical question... I really don't know if I have a chance at getting the job or not, I hate not knowing :(
I felt ever so grown up swanning around Westminster and wearing my visitor id card :rotfl:

You've met new people in your new job so you CAN do it ;)

I am lurking (thanks pod for the mention). House is a building site but conservatory will be finished this week :j rest of time consists of puppy watching - she's had her last jab tonight so next week we can start going for some little walks :j

Had a few bad weeks with chocolate eating. I did buy those supplements that evidsquid recommended. Have to say I was bit skeptical BUT I have noticed a reduction in my sweet cravings  I am still eating some junk but it is mostly out of habit. So still need to work on things but plodding on. Life's been up and down with DS, his anxiety issues just feel like they are getting worse so food has been a bit of a pick me up  doing basic fabbing but hardly any exercise :o will do better.

LL I heartily agree about joy. Your story of your friend reminded me of H's cousin who lost her battle aged 32. Just the reminder i needed today. I am sorry youre having such a pants time with the all things Govemment :( xx

Hugs for all that need them. keep on fabbing :)

you can just show up on the night if you don't want to ring. get there a bit earlier than the start time and you can get sat down before the coach of pay and go'ers arrives. i always find I'm much better at scary situations if i can be sat down and watching and taking it all in for a bit first.

on your first night you will be sat in a little group on your own getting talked through the plan whilst the rest of the group gets weighed. then they usually get you to join the rest of the group. you will get pointed out and applauded for being a new member but you won't have to talk out loud to the group at all.

There are always two sides to every story, what you should do andwhat you actually do...

LL should have had a wee in the council's plant pots ;) I of course, apologised for breathing (twice), hung up and cried. While OH had a go at me.

Still fabbed me nails while watching telly, I am not going to go to work with chipped polish after all ;)

SW can wait 'til next month, I won't get paid til the 30th so I'm meant to live on thin air 'til then.... Should be ok as long as I have enough for the bus and other essentials.
