Thank you. Im going for fake I think but will also body brush and exfoliate/ moisturise in preparation.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Hello all, I have just read through your thread a little bit and would love to join (even though I'm a bit late!) would that be okay?

I could really do with perking myself up in many ways, weight loss, hair cut, wearing make-up more often to make me feel good, etc etc, I need to do the lot! And would love to feel just that little bit more fab for the summer time this year :)

Good morning Everyone, Welcome Jo & Alja - no it's never too late to start building a fab new life.

Adela - I too am hoping to get my veins sorted out in the not too distant future. Need to sort out my money and pluck up courage. I gather it's not particularly pleasant, however I also understand that it's something that has to be dealt with because of the long term implications i.e. ulcers etc. You see a lot of those in nursing homes.

Well it's a nasty day out there, perfect for decluttering:D, paperwork:(, fabbing and cooking something nice. But first a final couple of "I's".

    Indulgence

Now and again we should all indulge ourselves in something that gives us pleasure and makes us happy. It's good for us.

    Invisibility

Do women of a certain age become invisible. Yes I think that's true. Do we have to remain invisible. Hell no.

It's up to us. If we slouch along, doing the Bag Lady Shuffle with our eyes planted firmly on the ground then we become invisible. If we dress smartly, stride out purposefully with our shoulders back and our eyes front - then we become visible again. Try it. In the words of the old Val Doonican song "Walk tall and look the world right in the eye". Take care with your appearance, dress well, walk tall and proud ........... and smile:D

    Incontinence :eek::eek::eek:

Keep doing those pelvic floor exercises!!!!! You are going to need them.;)

    Intuition

Use it, let it guide you, follow your gut instinct and you won't go far wrong in life.

Deep down - we know when something or someone is wrong for us. The wrong man, the wrong job, the deal that's too good to be true, those "friends' who let us down.

Sometimes we just need a little faith in ourselves and do what feels right for us - even if it means going against the herd and going it alone.

    Have a great day X

Sorry, just thinking about things too much.

Painted my nails for work tomorrow :)

That's better willow. I was thinking about you earlier and wondering what you would consider success? LL has already listed your considerable acheivements so what would you like to do next? I think you've managed the hardest part (getting a job) so what's the next part of your plan? Do let us know as maybe we can help.

    HI

Just found this thread and would like to join, its just what i need.

Welcome both, lovely to 'meet' you.

DH made an interesting point last night. We were watching TV and an advert for foundation came on. Now generally we don't sit around discussing the adverts on TV!:p but he commented that he didn't like that sort of look. I assume he meant the 'china doll' sort of covered in slap look. Fishing for compliments (as ever), I asked what he did like. He said that he liked women with natural looking skin like me!! I was really pleased as I've obviously not been overdoing the tinted moisturiser, bronzer powder, highlighter as he hasn't noticed!:rotfl:

I know we've had lots of discussion on here about hair. I envy some of you with your lovely long locks. My hair is thin and fine and doesn't really grow much below neck level. If you think of Helen Mirren

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTZ6KcqD-i9PjiHws7FtCqPaPnjxzMpaixoc8P0z6f_oPh1tOI7 that's roughly what my hair's like. I know lots of clebs have extensions and I'm not going there. I wanted to ask for any product recommendations. Anyone use a blow dry product? or hairspray?

We booked ourselves a week in Brittany yesterday for May. It's a treat for my SILs big birthday. We're renting a cottage and plan plenty of sightseeing, eating and the odd glass of wine!;)

Miserable day here, tipping down with rain. I'm going to visit a friend who's not been well later and take her out for some tea/cake/chat as she's got cabin fever. Have a good day all, whatever you're doing.

ETA: huge flakes of sleet just started coming down with rain! Ugh!!

    Sunday fab update

No running this weekend - however planned for 3 or 4 runs this week to get back into the training plan again. Have done a lot of walking though as a replacement and burnt off a few cals
Full face cleanse, tone, exfoliate and facemask in the bath tonight and plenty of moisturiser applied
Hair dyed this morning and nicely recoloured to cover up the emerging greys again
Sorted out some clothes from the ebay/CS pile - tried some on that fit again and go into the summer clothes drawer. 2 can't quite decide upon so resoleved this by deciding to keep and see.
Then some clothes for mum to try on and see if she wants any then if not off to CS
Some clothes to go to work for a charity day this week for upcycling if anyone wants them. If not then they can go to CS. Some space regained and hopefully some clothes go to a new home and be worn.

Just about managed to stay on diet track today and hoping this week is the final diet week instead of the endless STS. Will see later on this week. Anyway have meal planned everything for this week and the usual frantic week ahead at work combining work, running and studying with plenty in the freezer for easy meals all prepared and ready to go

Happy fabbing everyone as spring is on its way now and its 3 weeks to go until holiday time for me - can't wait!

  • Hello fellow fabbers! I've had a nice day and feeling best i have felt in weeks :), might go to plot when i go back to work tomorrow though! Went to church with brownies then lunch with friend, straightened my hair, put make up on, wore tidy clothes and boots not jeans, hoodie & trainers!

So fabbing does perk you up a bit, I'm more than happy to go without makeup and blend into the background but sometimes you have to put make an effort and put yourself out there a bit more and the confidence will grow!

So my fabbing for this week:
Wear brighter/nicer clothes especially to work and wear proper work shoes (not trainers)
    Do my hair
Cleanse, toner, moisturize twice daily & wear make up, even if only foundation.
    Wear perfume

And this evening, I need to defuzz, wash hair and dry, moisturise top to toe and paint nails. Off to make me fab :)
