Do you ever have this problem? other than disappoint my children, the only thing I can think of is just buying them their meals in future and have nothing myself but then again, if it does that to me then I dread to think what it would do to their little bodies...
Hi John,
You don't mention your children being ill when you take them to McDonald's - and if they were sick after you took them home, your wife would have told you before, if only to complain! The occasional McDonald's is not going to do any damage to anyone, so if it is truly kept as a treat rather than a daily meal, do not worry about the impact on your kids' health.
It may be that your reaction is triggered by the stress rather than the food, but either way, it would be good to get this confirmed so you could better deal with it. Your doctor will be able to test you for an allergy quite easily - checking for IBS I believe is a much longer road.
In the meantime, could you just get a drink at McDonald's (you must have tried the same drinks elsewhere and have an idea of whether you react badly to them or not)? You could eat before seeing your children, fob them off with 'Daddy's not hungry' and probably have a more pleasant experience. As spending time with your children is so difficult at the moment, giving up on the food for now and bypassing the toilet problems will be a sacrifice worth it.
We're not long until 2012 and I do hope 2012 proves to be a better year all round - it does sound like you've not had an easy time of it lately.0 -
Two things for the opp to consider. Have you been to McD and just sat there while the rest of your group ate? If you were ill doing that it could be the lights which can make some people ill or it is all in the mind?
If you are only ill when you eat there can you borrow a heart monitor? Then check your heartbeat and if/when it increases note what was going on and what you had just put into your mouth, this could be the cause of your illness.0 -

What do you have in the North in the evenings?0 -

I'm English, was born in the south east, and have lived there all the time I've lived in the UK and yet I always refer to my main meal of the day (in the evening) as 'tea'.
Much to the annoyance of almost everyone I know who did not originate 'oop north'.
I have no idea why I do this. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

What total rubbish.
Don't get medical information off the internet it really isn't reliable or accurate. If the OP has a continuing problem they need to see a doctor. Silly ideas about heart rate monitors and lights won't do anything.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

Same here.
The dose they state must be safe for any adult so if two tablets is safe for a 5'2" 7st woman then I think it's unlikely that a 6'2" 15st man will have a problem with three. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
McD bungs me up not the other way around..
TRUE STORY: I accidently spilled some McD fries in the boot of my car on my 21st birthday, I never cleared these up and the date is indisputable. 3 years later, still had perfectly formed french fries in my boot. No I didn't taste them but pop em in the microwave I'm sure they'd taste similar.
Moral of the story: I need to hoover my boot more. Also if you eat Maccy Ds your body probably won't decompose because they must preserve their fries with formaldehyde"If you don't feel the bumps in the road, you're not really going anywhere "
