    All plans looking good El....
The mortgage is the reason poor hubby has to work so many hours so can understand Mr Els worries..once you own your house you can never be homeless which must be a fantastic feeling

TBH that is my worry too, if cant pay mortgage then no wee house :(

Snap .... I worry about it a lot - especially being single as if I lose my job, there's no 2nd income  I know it would be really hard for couples too but most I know could scrape by for a couple of months on one income should the worst happen (cutting everything right back, no treats etc) .... not got that luxury :( (ohhh and it's budget time just now .... bosses deciding how many cuts need made which is always a worrying time of year)

Would love to make some OP but not a lot left in the SOA to play with

I picked up a wee 10 hour day shift overtime last night do I think tht shoul be me with enough overtime for January, I will get paid for 38 hours overtime all of which will go into the debt paying pot

:T:T That's brilliant ...... wish we got the chance to work OT :(

When I'm better (and this may be a while down the road:o) - I really think I might have to look at the 2nd job option again ..... and there's me being trying to work out if I there's any way I can cut my hours in my current job :o

mmmm £1 / day ..... wonder if I could start another savings pot and put 50p / day in it and pay it to the mortgage every few months ..... surely I could manage £15 / month ..... but then I get to thinking - is it worth it?

I think it would be worth it not only financially rising but psychologically... My mortgage is 4.69% so all those £1's etc will be saving me 4.69% Plus tax, I don't know any account that's currently doing that, it's would also be taking me very very slowly towards the stage where my home is ours and mr el's fear of loosing it has passed ... Does that make sense?

I think you could be right there :)

Ahhhh - see that's part of my problem (if you can call it that :o) - my new ISA pays 3.10% (but I do have to pay tax on that so not sure what the net will be?) .... and my mortgage is only 2.49% so not sure if I'm much better off - money wise ... but psychologically wise ... probably!

You shouldn't pay tax on an isa rising .... It may be worth your while to save it there then transfer it to the mortgage once a year ? Have a wee competition with yourself to see how much you can save maybe ?

Well sugar shuffle done for the day, I'm on annual leave but if I had been working I wouldn't have taken in sugar so have transferred the money over

I've spent a large part if the day sleeping and taking pain killers, back to normal tomorrow I'm sure:)

Tonight's dinner was chicken biryani ... It was mr el's first time making it, it tasted ok and he has some for tomorrow, will try over the weekend to get something more concrete organised for the menu planning, which I think will actually work out even better as he gets paid on Tuesday so we have the new financial month starting then and can organise our shopping round that

Still plodding on and getting there slowly but enjoying the journey and the learning, I feel more in control now that I have this more focused way of doing it ( ie checking every month the total owed and dividing it by the months, the Tilly tidies and the sugar shuffle as well as the plans for the meal planning slowly coming together )

So a wee 45p Tilly tidy today and if I don't have any sugar then it will be £1 sugar shuffle later

I have a person coming over today to discuss diet and excercise, it's one of the things I get so frustrated about, this person is coming to me for advice cause I have studied nutrition etc, I know what needs to happen and generally on the whole I eat very healthily it's just when the sugar craving kicks in it all goes to pot .... I get sooooooo frustrated with myself sometimes
  • Can you charge them for your time, knowledge, experience? If not cash carrots, potatoes etc?

If it is a friend it's more difficult I know.

Tilly, this is where I have issues, I'm qualified in quite a lot of things (N.L.P, hypnotherapy, massage etc) I even started my own business, I just really struggle with taking money off of people. I have always been taught to share knowledge and help out where I can, which probably explains the job I do and problem solving also... I think it's something I should really work in tbh.
