Thanks everyone , i feel fine tbh just waiting on a letter to go to the hospital , i really hope my dr is over reacting as i have far too much life left in me to be slowing down now lol
debt wise i paid some more off today so that is good news, i have a late shift overtime today and a mid overtime tomorrow ... next month i have just two shifts overtime, but i wont be taking on anymore as i feel i need a break from it ( especially as i need to get on top of my health)
just got my wage slip i got an extra £60 in my wages than i expected ... which is a good thing as i had spent £75 on my visa that i hadnt planned on ... so i will put that towards it and manage to scrimp the other £15 from somewhere0 -
In other news, we recieved a new modem yesterday as our other modem wasnt working great, hubby phoned up yesterday to get it sorted and we were offered the same t.v/phone package but with 60meg broadband ( that will be going up to 100 meg in june/july) for £7 a month less ... so we said yep all money in our pockets0

Well i have my hospital appointment in it's for wednesday, so it will be good to get all that sorted..
I have 3 shifts of overtime in April and i have decided i am not doing any more than that, i agreed to do them earlier on in the month but tried to get rid of them after i had been to the dr, but no one is willing to take them off of me, so i will do them then no more, the debt will get paid, it may just take a bit longer to pay than first thought ( although i am still going to aim for the 100 months)
i have joined a few challenges now to try and boost me on my way and keep me at it as i feel that when i first start a plan i am all guns a blazing but that as time wears on things settle into a routine, i find it's when it is this routine that i am liable to slip as nothing exciting is happening so maybe by joining a few challenges i might manage to keep the momentum going... i'm sure there are other people that find this as well i wonder how they try and combat it ?0 -
I am feeling the same. I was so up for it at first and am still set on clearing the debt quickly but I feel like I am just waiting for the end of the month already now for the next pay packet to put more aside for clearing debt.
I do not want to be wishing my life away so taking things a bit for chilled now with the Decemeber 2013 aim still in sight. I cleared 5% in my first month which puts me on target still.
I am sure you will do it but remember your health should come first, and make sure you are happy too.Total Debt Feb 2012 [STRIKE]£12,153[/STRIKE] 10674 16.5% Paid

it is kinda like wishing our lives away isnt it? i am the same i cant wait till hubby get's paid so that i can adjust my totals, then i have two weeks till i get paid then adjust totals again, but once the wages have all made their way to the places they should be i am sitting twiddling my thumbs going i wish it was pay day, that's great you have made a 5% reduction, hopefully the other 95% will come down equally as fast
my health is deff going to be a feature of my life now, it should always have been tbh but as usual we put other people's needs etc in front of our own and i have done so for a long long time, i have worked with a nutritionalist before and that was helpful, but it was via email etc i think i would benefit from sitting down and meeting someone on a monthly basis and making plans etc about moving forward... i also think i would benefit with working with someone in an excercise capacity, i want someone to work with me one to one so that i can learn what i need to ... i think after a few months i can cut down the meetings to monthly and continue with a kinda advice basis ... wonder how i would get this type of thing on the nhs ? or even if i can ?0 -
got a strange phonecall yesterday from my boss at work, she informs me that the head of pensions in my company thinks i am paying too much into the company pension... eh
so i phoned up today and yes they seem to think i am paying too much to a pension, i pay 12.5% a month... now i know that that may be alot to some people ( and it is alot to me too) but ... i dont earn much at all so 12.5% is approx £75 a month ... £75 a month is not going to get me much when i retire so £30 a month (which is what they think i should pay) is gonna get me even less
i do have some pensions floating about but they are all frozen and are not going to amount to much when i retire, i did have a personal pension that i had to freeze when Mr.El was off from work last year, which i do intend on starting back up later on in the year ( only going to pay £50 a month to begin with) but it doesnt have much in it either
so i dont really class myself as having any pension (apart from government one) ... when i have looked into this i keep reading that i should take my age and half it then pay that as a % towards a pension in order to get something decent when i retire ... now i am 40 this year so effectively i should be paying 20% but i am only paying 12.5% with my work pension so i am 7.5% short on what i should be paying ( hoping to pay the £50 a month back into my personal pension though so that should make it better) ... i dont really like the idea of having two pensions either but finally my work have agreed to pay something into a pension for me (1% going up to 2% next year 3% the year after and staying there) so i want to take advantage of that0 -

Hi El.. we have a few schemes round here that offer free 'health training' to people - diet and exercise advice - I think you can get referred through the NHS or just go along. Definitely worth asking your GP if there's anything similar about. Or you might be able to find something through http://www.communityfoodandhealth.org.uk/plugins/directorysearch/index.phpDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
