Can I ask if an actual wage is paid on this work programme?
Or is it benefit and a small allowance/travel costs?
I actually did something like this over 20 years ago, can't think of the name of the scheme though.

Travel costs only (on top of benefit) - theoretically you may be able to get more of it depending on provider, though unlikely. The scheme 20 years ago may have been the YTS (Youth Training Scheme) which gave you I believe an extra £10 a week whilst on it.

Well I couldn't get to the job search appointment as the side effects of my tablets have well and truly kicked in :(. I phoned them first thing this morning and explained my situation and they were fine with it. I had a quick chat over the phone and they have logged it as a phone appointment.

:rotfl:lol funnily enough it was mentioned though, the advisor said she didn't want me to lose my benefits for not coming in so thats why she decided to log it as a phone appointment.

I think they pretty much know who's telling the truth and who's trying to pull a fast one. I've never missed an appointment before, I always arrive on time, I never try to leave early and I just sit down at the computer and get on with looking for a job (when the computers work that is lol)

you just get your normal benefit plus travel costs. they make you feel like a criminal for having the cheek to claim travel costs. so i dont bother and walk instead.

the yts didnt pay anything extra. it just paid the usual yts allowance plus travel costs. you had to pay the first £3 yourself. you are probably thinking of employment training.

You must have lots of £ to waste then as I ALWAYS claim mine and have done since the 1st day I went there. I in fact get more as they are stupid idiots and won't pay me £2.70 but give me £4.60!
