all i am saying is be careful and its better to be safe than sorry. anyone who does not want to follow that advice is free to do so.
I would never get sanctioned as I am not that stupid.

At my induction, one-to-ones, courses I always have dressed smart. I just think it gives a good impression.
if that is what you want to do then fair enough but there really is no need unless you are told otherwise.

I was told at induction that everyone gets ill as long as you phone up to let them know and rearrange your appointment then its not a problem.
yes that is what should happen and what probably does happen in most cases. however i dont trust these people enough. so if i can avoid the risk i will. i remember being sat with an adviser who was chatting to another. she said joe bloggs didnt turn up today. the other replied by saying he phoned in earlier. the the first one then said oh well i have already sanctioned him.

so if you dont mean for attending the work programme then in what circumstance do you mean? i assumed you meant in relation to the work programme because that is what is being discussed.

Well that is their fault and a lack of communication and the person in question should not have been sanctioned if they did in fact call and I would always get the name and time of the person I spoke to if it was not my adviser and then email the adviser and the centre manager to confirm I have just called in.

The work programme is just an extention of the JC so I go dressed in the same way I as I go there and I have no intention of looking like a scruff. People look at me as if to say 'you can't be out of work, you dress too well'

Well as long as we are going on about attire, i wear my tracksuit bottoms and trainers and hoody to both the jobcentre and WP appointments. Can't say that i have ever been threatened with anything.
