they must also have consent to contact employers to help you get a job surely? i was specifically talking about the employers you apply to independantly and whether they legally have the right to disclose info to the provider.
Depends whether you have agreed to that or you applied or were submitted through provider.

Unless you have agreed, really should be in writing, provider has no right to contact employer about your job applications, unless you applied or were submitted via provider.

there is no form you sign that says to the EMPLOYER that you are giving them the right to talk about you or you would have to sign one and send it with your application in case the WP call them

the data protection waiver form everyone signs and the jobcentre form you sign to go on work programe gives them the right.

They have to contact employer to get there pot of GOLD from DWP as most advisers are on comision so the are more like sales people than real advisors more they get into work more money in there pocket although they do get about 400 for every referal to them.

It was not a form I had its not even a form I should be seeing.
When someone from my providers was ringing this employer up they also sent them via email a form to complete. It had my details on and they were to fill in my start date working hours etc.

If people do sign the consent form then I guess this is the form all their future employers get sent.

But I didnt give consent and they obviously didnt look to see if I signed or not they must assume everyone does. They have till this friday to reply to me by letter so will let you know what they say.
Hope you push this all the way and get them fined. If this has cost you a job as it would seem, after you have exhausted their pathetic complaints procedure with the provider , a call and letter to the information commissioners office maybe helpful. The provider had no right to be contacting the employer if you had never given consent.

What form is this you mention about giving them consent to contact employers as to the outcome of a job?. I wasnt given one of them,so are they all acting on a whim here, there must be some kind of guidence for them all to be covered by.No doubt those twits in goverment will turn around and say, at their discretion.

    Good luck

We are not talking about the employer you get a job with we are talking about an application for a job made on your own with no help from the WP. If you do not get an interview or the job the WP have no business in calling them and interfearing in the application. Where did I sign to say I give the POTENTIAL EMPLOYER permission to talk about my application to them?

Well im sure if you refuse a job no doubt they contact the JSA = sanctioned ?

or a job that's 'not suitable'
true, but i dont think they are looking for ways to sanction people (like the jobcentre were a year ago) when they put you forward for jobs. if they ever insist on putting you forward for something unsuitable you can just sabotage it subtly.

i agree they shouldnt be hassling employers you have applied to as it could hinder your chances. however i think if they are allowed to contact employers to help you get a job then they are probably allowed to contact those you have applied to. the question is do these employers have the legal right to disclose info about you. surely data protection laws prevent them from doing this.

even if you had signed the form if you just signed off and didnt say nothing to the provider when you get a job then there would be nothing they could do. my adviser said so herself. personally i would be worried that if i ever ended up back there in the future that they would remember what i did and give me a hard time. so unless i won the lottery i think i would tell them to keep them happy. although i would point out to my employer that they dont have to tell them anything.
