i agree they shouldnt be hassling employers you have applied to as it could hinder your chances. however i think if they are allowed to contact employers to help you get a job then they are probably allowed to contact those you have applied to. the question is do these employers have the legal right to disclose info about you. surely data protection laws prevent them from doing this.
they have no rights to contact people I have applied to this data protection form was only for them to send my CV to people not anything else.

There is no form that I have signed like I keep saying to give an company the right to talk to them!

surely there must be some rule somewhere that allows them to contact employers. these type of schemes have been doing it for years. how else would they manage to find work placements if they werent allowed to contact employers about you.

they are not looking for work 'placements' for me.

They can contact companies and talk about me but they can't intercept an application. I have not given them permission to do that.

i think they could get away with saying it is part of trying to get you a job just like when they find you a placement etc. the difference is when they find placements the employer isnt going to be asked to give out info about you.

but they aren't doing it , thats the thing. I have stated here what I was told to do ie: write a list of all the direct jobs I have applied for and I was told they will contact them to see if they can get me an interview. This is not happening so it doesnt matter but a company can not give info out on my with out my consent as I have not given consent to anyone at all these companies to do so. If the WP call to intercept an application you have made what proof do the companies have that these people who are they say they are? NONE!

the data protection waiver form everyone signs and the jobcentre form you sign to go on work programe gives them the right.

They have to contact employer to get there pot of GOLD from DWP as most advisers are on comision so the are more like sales people than real advisors more they get into work more money in there pocket although they do get about 400 for every referal to them.
The Jobcentre does not specify what the provider should do or how it should do it.

It's up to the provider to get required consents it needs to do its job.

The DWP makes that clear in its own single DWP consent form to verify outcome payment, that it's solely up to the provider to get jobseekeers to sign that DWP consent form. That's just one consent form for one specific thing.

Yes, it's a mess & a can of worms, that they hope people don't know about or argue with, that they can exploit & operate within the confusion.

saw my provider again today. they took the p**s again. they registered me with their website that matches my cv to advertised jobs. it matched me to 150. with every job i am expected to either apply or decline(i cant just ignore some of them). if i decline i have to say why. its gonna take me ages to get through 150 jobs. even though with most it is obvious from the job title alone that i wont be able to apply, i still have to go through the bo**ocks of clicking on it then clicking decline, then explaining why and then clicking decline again. my adviser gets to see all my activity and can even log into my account. she said its not anything to do with being big brother. i thought yeah who are you trying to kid. i wonder what people do if it brings up 500 jobs and they are capable of doing them all. thats alot of money on stamps and photo copies.

Have you agreed to that in writing ?

Have they shown you a written data protection & usage statement for your account, that they have access to your account & are monitoring.

    That sounds seriously illegal.

When I signed at the job centre yesterday I was told I am excused signing on 28th March due to industrial action and payment will be sent automatically.

Are Providers taking part in this too as that coincides with the last day of my course ?

Had first one to one yesterday. Still have to do course but said I was not happy. Asked if that was only mandatory one and he said yes. Least he was nice yesterday and took the time to log my job search and looked at my CV etc. Was told everything was fine just wish this had happened before I was mandated to course.

Had a letter from my local MP today he is raising concerns with the Job centre about my data consent being breached and it costing me a job resulting in me still being on the WP and doing courses.

County Training only have one day left now to write a response just hope I am not fobbed off and told they need longer and give me another respond by date.

Industrial Action? That's so disgusting when we have no jobs!!!

The WP providers are private sector and the JC are public sector so no the WP wont be on strike.
