Had a phone call apparantly some get mandated after induction some dont, think they have to mandate so many a week from induction based on no opinion what so ever. Out of the 5 in my induction I was the only one dressed smartly and had a folder with me. Seems it does not pay to look well presented and prepared, maybe I should of wore a tracksuit and a baseball cap like 2 of them and I would of been left alone and just seen fortnightly.0

Seems I have to do this course just hope they do not make me make a brand new CV to pass one day or change what I put in application forms.0 -
Pretty ironic this course is part about how you present yourself and how confident and assertive you come across when its exactly for being those things I have been slung in a group course in the 1st place.0 -
Hope after I have done this they wont continue to treat me differently and send me on pointless courses, noone else seems to be on courses on work programme.0 -

Hi donnajunkie,
Why was it a mistake in that you informed them as to it was no good etc? did they then send you on many other waste of time courses.0 -

I can only think they are being like this because I wouldn't sign any consent forms. Maybe the person running the course will see it as no benefit to me and dismiss me
Hi Jayne30,
are you sure its madatory,if so i believe they need to show just course if they are forcing your hand at this crap.
check out this dwp link, http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/wp-pg-chapter-3.pdf guidence fo all providers on the WP.0 -
Keep getting told different things, at induction and sign up to course yesterday was told it was mandatory for everyone at Pertemps. But when a employee from what I presume is their head office I was told ppl get treated as individual and I was thought by the person who did the induction I would benefit from this course. Never signed any consent form but I did the action plan as I was told this course was mandatory for all.
Found out yesterday the city and guilds is in Customer Service, thats 2 days of the course, again I was never told that.
Can't find anywhere what is mandatory and what isn't except for the minimum apps of every 14 days. I have looked at minimum delivery of Serco and all it says is they will make you aware of training courses etc nothing about mandatory ones.
When he went through my action plan I was told job search/training is always highlighted as needing as that is the providers job. I am fearing as thats the box he ticked I will be sent on numerous courses.
Does anyone know if its mandatory to sign action plans and as like I did I signed the first one if I can retract that ?
Also do you have a right to change your employment coach if you feel they are not helping in the right way ?
To the poster above I only have my CV as a printed copy and also as a document on my home pc. Will I be made to put it on something external ? I apply for jobs from home so do not see a need.
I know I can refuse a course but as I was told yesterday I would be reported to the job centre and may be sanctioned. I claim JSA as I am looking for work and I can back up all my applications and show my CV so would I be sanctioned for not wanting to do a course ?
If sanctioned for this will I repeatedly get put on mandatory courses and re sanctioned but for longer ? Also does hardship provision still exist if you are sanctioned ? living alone I would have no income for bills/electricity etc. Not that I think it would be fair to be sanctioned for this as the only rule really to claim JSA is to be actively seeking work and can prove it.
Thanks for any info anyone has0
