If I refuse this 6 day course cv/interview techniques etc they say is mandatory will I get sanctioned ?
I have reasons ie i was not told the true nature of the course, I seem to have been assessed as needing help when not even my cv etc has been looked at and also I know a fellow inductee was not put on this course.
I am going to email the providers I go to later ask if I can see this person who runs this course sign up or if I can email him my cv/cover letter example etc. Be pointless going on a 6 day full day course when I already have all these things and have been told in the past they are a good standard.0 -
if there are ever visitors from the jobcentre or anyone else important they always know they are coming and make sure everything appears as good as possible. the reality is never seen. also if they were ever to ask claimants what they think of the course they would just tell them what they want to hear. They should have come down and sat in on one of the courses!0 -
mine keeps changing. at first it was going to be face to face contact once a month. it then changed to every 12 weeks. currently its every 10 weeks. i have been told to expect to be in there once a fortnight from now on. however that is going to be mostly just to do 1 hours worth of job search.my wp provider is Ingeus and I only see them once every 3 weeks or so and thats for "guided jobsearch" (sit and use their crappy computers for an hour)0 -
what is shocking is there is no limit to the amount of cash they are willing to through at something that does not work. at the same time valuable services are being cut back. i wonder why this hasnt occurred to the idiots who support this kind of thing. So here we are, nearly 25 pages worth of comments and not one single outcome of a job or any success. If that is not a damning indictment on this scheme that this govt is forcing down the jobless' throats then I don't know what is.0 -
Exactly - that's why when it all kicked off regarding work experience, Grayling, IDS, Cameron, et. al, were so taken aback that they resorted to name calling instead responding to the issue like professionals. The reality of this schemes are far removed from what the politicians, policy makers and journalists experience when they have their orchastrated visits!donnajunkie wrote: »if there are ever visitors from the jobcentre or anyone else important they always know they are coming and make sure everything appears as good as possible. the reality is never seen. also if they were ever to ask claimants what they think of the course they would just tell them what they want to hear.0 -
you can try and persuade your adviser to let you off it but if they dont and it is classed as mandatory then failure to take part is very likely to result in a sanction. If I refuse this 6 day course cv/interview techniques etc they say is mandatory will I get sanctioned ?

The work programme is flawed because the Provider does not handle your job applications. They have no way of knowing whether or not you have heard back from an employer or not or been given an interview.
It all goes from your email address, phone number etc. If you say you havent heard they cant check. The only way for it to be fully working properly is if they checked every single application you made and the employer got in touch with them and not you.:footie:0 -
The JC can't either so all a bit up the creek! The work programme is flawed because the Provider does not handle your job applications. They have no way of knowing whether or not you have heard back from an employer or not or been given an interview.

this is assuming their job is to be benefit police and not to get you a job. it fails because they cant get you a job. we cant blame them entirely for their failure because it is an impossible task to find long term unemployed a job.The work programme is flawed because the Provider does not handle your job applications. We can blame the WP companies partly as they had to put in a bid to earn the rights to be providers so like any company you would not bid for business if you had no idea what it was you were meant to do when you won the contract?donnajunkie wrote: »this is assuming their job is to be benefit police and not to get you a job. it fails because they cant get you a job. we cant blame them entirely for their failure because it is an impossible task to find long term unemployed a job.
