First the Jobecentre will ask you to sign a form for the WORK PROGRAME this form is to sign your rights away for Data Protection Act so they can your details to Provider (refuse to sign they cant send your details over)
Next they will send you to Provider who will again ask you to sign a Data Protection Waiver (refuse again and they cant send cvs etc details etc to employers voulounter work etc)
They will also get you to sign a plan again refuse and they cant hold against you
All Jobcentre will try to get you to change job seekers agreemant again refuse this stick to original
Most importantly refuse to sign anything at providers just put your name in on forms never sign.
When you sign for any thing you are signing your rights away
You do have to attend work training like making cvs interview training etc bt working for free no.
You are very likely to get sanctions at some time after being on the programe.
By signing something on the workprogramme unless it explicitly states that it is a legally binding document or has terms to sign to it wont mean crap if you have to argue that fact."
ANY agreement between two people which commits the parties to something is legally binding. Signatures don't make the agreement more binding, they just make it a lot easier to prove in a court of law that there was indeed an agreement. So by signing the fire register or job search card if you have one they will be stuffed if they rely upon that if a tribunal gets involved for example.
By signing something does not mean you are signing your rights away to everything unless it is a written agreement.0 -
The job was a few intense days (it's private teaching) to start with, then it's a less hours per week but regular. I could still sign on as it's under 16 hours a week, but I wouldn't get any JSA (or £5 or whatever), and I would still have to attend the WP and frankly I have better things to do than apply for the stupid jobs they want me to go for, when I could be searching for more private work myself. So I've signed off from the day I started earning. We had a bit of a clash about how I should be looking for work, apparently I can't just advertise and go and find people myself, I have to apply for private tuition jobs and show them my applications, and I have never yet found an advert for private tuition that suits what I teach. So I was told this would result in my benefits being sanctioned (yawn).
I don't plan on signing on again, if I were desperate I would apply for carers allowance as I am the carer to my dad who's been officially declared as ill enough to need a full time carer, but my family aren't keen to go down that route unless necessary, and I would rather work and earn the money myself and I am not answerable to the state anymore.
Hi,
i thought these providers were suppose to be helping everyone find work, not hinder their chances as they seem to be doing with you. Also, why are they just suggesting mindless crappy jobs to appy for ? this is also happening to me and others .Are now sending a letter from hell to my local mp which will probably be a complete wast of time .
Let them try the sanctions route if they dare, and take them all the way to a tribunal,as long as you can show youve done everything thats covered in your job seekers agreement, they will be stuffed with a 5k fine, plus you will get all expenses re imbursed and costs as i understand it from a friend.;)
They like to think people will just take this crap lying down as it saves them money, there is also the point of "sanctions" removed for those on the current welfare programme, but not for WORKPROGRAMME= descrimination.

I think they mean for people who have been told they have to do the MWA while on the WP.
Thats right on MWA, i maybe wrongbut sure i read on the DWP website that any refusal basically to doing anything which is asked of someone on the WP they can apply sanctions, its the same threat being applied just on another scheme.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:0 -

I think your right Lith, we need to find this out for certain as taking their word for it i most certainly wouldnt.
The sanctions thing on work programme still stands but as to what courses/work activity etc i dont really know.0 -

Went to my induction today for 2nd stage of Serco work programme. Was with Pertemps
Been told have to do a mandatory course 3 days a week full day for 2 weeks didnt get told much else have to see them again this week to be told about it.
Anyone here with Pertemps who has had to do this after the induction ?
Didnt sign the consent form for data sharing with the employer or the consent for data sharing between dwp etc and I didnt sign the consent form for them to be able to apply for jobs on my behalf. Nothing was said, maybe because I am in the midst of a complaint with the 1st provider that cost me a job by contacting an employer hassling them with a form when I had not signed the consent form there either.
Any info on afore mentioned course appreciated and if it really is mandatory like I was told.
check out "how to destroy the work programme" on youtube. Someone on there will no doubt know.0 -

I have a interview soon, I don't know if its about the Work Programme (As I have been on JSA for a year) or the New Enterprise Scheme ( I asked a advisor and they did not know anything and set up this interview I have coming up or the adviser did so that I would not be eligible for the NEA by the time I had this interview, I mean surely they could let me see a advisor about it before 6 weeks?)
but what exactly happens on the start of the work programme? are you sent some where straight away for £1.25 a hour?"

I have emailed on the ppdg (Pertemps) website to enquire. If they say none of their courses are mandatory I won't be going. All I was told when I asked what it was about was that it involves getting to know everyone at the office and what Pertemps offer on the WP. I got all that info at induction and it doesn't take 6 full days to learn that.
I am sure the guy in front of me signing out who was at the induction with me didnt have to do this course as I heard him talk to a mate he didn't have to go in tilll next Wednesday. Maybe they will send me on anything as I didn't sign their consent forms, I hope not.
Even their web site says attendance is min every 14 days and nothing about mandatory course after induction.
Will wait and see if someone gets back to me.0
