yes and whenever you question why you see them so often, if you see them often they say its the rules, they have to.....
No at my office they tell the ones they are seeing more often that they do not have the skills or attitude to look for work, or have a good CV and need help etc. There are lots of them out there.

do you think your jc is really any different to any other? how does differing needs explain jsa agreements differing in a big way. why do you think someone very similar to me only has to do 10 actions per week and i have to do 37? we both have the same adviser. if you had a bad adviser who didnt like you you would be getting sent on daft courses whether you need them or not. the course i am doing is targeted at people like you also who are getting no joy from applications. if you were signing on here would you get put on the course?.....maybe, maybe not. it would depend on your adviser.

So your advisor doesn't like you? Do you know you have different needs?

The course you are doing now is targeted at people like me? What people like me? People who don't get interviews? Well I am guessing we all aren't or we'd be in work, no?

Or do you mean people who get turned down as they say I have too much experience and will not waste their time interviewing someone who will find the job boring?

    How can a course help?

whatever the reason for my advisers behaviour it is not a fair reason.
when i say targeted at people like you also. i mean people that have barriers to overcome. people who need to do something differently to improve their chances of success.

I cant do anything different unless I take off 50% of my CV and pretend to have no experience

Are they teaching you that's what you should do if over qualified?

My JC say to take a volunteer job to over come that :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

What? You have been told you are 'overqualified' and you haven't dumbed down your CV?

How would anyone know they are over qualified when they apply for a job that does not read to be a junior role and is called Staff Accountant? Or one that's paying £34k?

Companies are making out their jobs are bigger than they are and I cant tell that by reading their advert.

Also IF you were to dumb down a CV what do I say I have learnt in 20 years? OR what do I say when I get asked 'why have you not progressed' or 'why don't you know how to do this' or 'how did you manage a team of people with this little experience'?

You implied that despite being repeatedly told you are 'overqualified' you haven't even amended your CV to water the experience down.

You have to be trolling or otherwise so egotistical that you don't like to 'appear' less qualified then you think you are.

Those questions you asked are pretty straight forward to answer. Not all employers want ambitious workers.

How do you know the job you are applying for before you get feedback is looking for a junior with little experience? That is the question?

Appear less qualified than I think I am? I am not the one saying I have too much experience, they are.

I wouldn't like anyone to think I haven't learnt the basics in 20 years.

That's not as barmy as it sounds. If you are genuinely not getting interviews or jobs due to being overqualified it would help you to do voluntary work in a role that is below your qualification level but at the level at which you may realistically get a job. That way the employer will see that you can and have successfully worked in a role which you are technically overqualified for.

I agree it's unfortunate that the system is so out of whack that you would have to go to such lengths but in a back to front sort of way it makes sense.
